I recently came across some old TV/TS ephemera and am doing some research to figure out what it all is, and thought some of the older members might be able to help. Is anyone here familiar with Cathy Slavik's "Empathy Club" back in the 60s and 70s? From what little I have been able to find online, it seems to have been similar to Virginia Prince's correspondence club back in the same time frame, and like Virginia published a monthly newsletter, story books and how-to guides.

Sorry, Vickie, I don't have any info on Cathy Slavik's "Empathy Club." But I do recall the Erickson Educational Foundation that was founded in 1964 by Reed Erickson (formerly Rita Alma Erickson (click here) (http://web.uvic.ca/~erick123/#why)). I may still have some of their early newsletters packed away someplace.
I don't see your item directly mentioned in the list of major collections, but you might also check out the other sections of The University of Victoria (Canada) Library's Transgender Archives (click here) (http://transgenderarchives.uvic.ca/).
Hugs,
Persephone.

If I am ever up in Victoria BC for some reason (unlikely since it is 45 hours of driving away), I have gotta see if I can take a look in their archives.
I only found one title they have that I found, and it was a much later issue. Given they only have that one copy, it leads me to believe I really do have something very, very special.
