I'm always amazed that there are very few people my age here. Either they're early twenties or 50+. I'm right in the middle. A gen Xer. I think it's because "generation text" are just becoming aware and the boomers have the leisure time to explore.

However the gen x people are busy make money to support families.

Are there any generation x people here? Specifically in their 30s?
I feel so lonely.

I am in 30's
Often times people in their 30's are bogged down with kids or trying to overwork etc.
Kind of makes it hard in real life to have any kind of decent friends. Not that people don't want to get out and have fun it is just that they don't have much of a life with small children hanging around who always need attention.
Early 20's and 50+ usually don't have kids (or they are grown for the baby boomers)

Briana,
They are here but as you say there is a lot going on in their life until they get the children into something else.
I think of the religious side.
You have fun at 20 and then do your penance, at about 50 all is done and you get to enjoy life.
The trouble then is all your looks went down the gurgler at about 25 and you didn't have time to notice.
Now it is just hell just trying to stay afloat.
Oh! well. :)

I think participation on this forum from folks in our age range (I'm also in my 30s) is limited due to some of the factors you've mentioned. As well, my perception has been that this forum generally tends to skew older, so a fair bit of the conversation that takes place may not necessarily engage younger members.

Mid 30s here too... for the reasons already covered, I think participation may not be as high.

Sorry Briana. Past my 30's a while ago. Only wish our community was this open when I was younger.

Hugs, Robin

Mid 40's here. I look back 20 years and wish I had made alot of different choices.
My advice to the young ones is to take every opportunity to be yourself.

Yes I am in my 30s. Old enough to know, young enough to not care :D

Nicole nailed it. When I was a 30something, I had kids and a bad case of denial and self loathing...plus this forum didn't exist.

According to Wikipedia, I am smack dab in the middle of the Gen X range. (those born between early 60's - early 80's)

I think perhaps the relatively younger and older folks just mention their age more often than those of us "in the middle" - the younger ones post things like, "I'm new to this and need some help with...". And the older ones seem to mention "at my age..." in their posts a good bit.

I am only 30. I have been since I decided I wasn't getting any older. That's my story and I am sticking to it. :)

At my age I think I count as two Gen Xer's. Enjoy each age and stage!

You are rocking 30!

Mid-thirties here and, yes, crazy busy. Two young kids and a job with lots of travel. However, I sure don't let that stop me from participating here when I have the time to do so.

There is a TON of Gen X'rs here, but most of us are in our 40's.

I never thought of the kids born in the 80's as Gen X'rs. If you didn't see and absorb Pump Up the Volume or Clerks in your late teens or early twenties then you can't possibly be an angsty Gen X'r. :-)

We were kids in the '70s and teens in the '80s and there are quite a few of us on this board. Many of us hit the wall when we hit 40, and then finally transitioned.

I'm a Gen-X'er.
The movie that defined my generation was The Breakfast Club. That was about the time I graduated high school.
My High school library is identical to the one in the movie.

I am in my 30s and I have the same frustration. I have no kids or wife (not by choice), and I am always looking for friends to do things with but they are all too busy with their families. Actually, by my late 20s most of the friends I had disappeared and no longer wanted to do anything, they got married had families etc. I'd love to have a friend I could go out with dressed now and then etc.

If it makes you feel any better, Briana, even though I'm one of those 50+ gals, I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
