So I know what is involved in the process of HRT and SRS in regards to therapy etc, but what can one expect to spend to complete these processes? For those of you who have completed vaginoplasty, breast augmentation, facial feminization, corrected hairlines, etc, how much did you have to spend to complete everything? I heard there are two different types of vaginoplasty and there are two different prices involved. Which one did you opt for and why? I am interested but at the same time, I am not exactly super well off to just plunk out 10s of thousands of dollars... as much as I wish I could. Any advice you all could give? I would be much appreciated.

I have $80,000 invested into my look. Is that enough? I don't know but nobody has mistaken me for a man in years. I don't think that there are very many of us that could just plunk down tens of thousands of dollars all at once. It has taken years and a lot of hard work for me to be able to afford it. All of your work does not have to be done all at once. A little at a time as money permits.
For trans women patients, penile inversion is the most common surgical technique that is used to construct a neovagina from a penis. There is also the colovaginoplasty where a vagina is created by cutting away a section of the sigmoid colon and using it to form a vaginal lining. There are four or five other methods available. Talking with a doctor who has performed thousands of these operations is the best way to determine which is best for you. I chose penile inversion because it was my best option.

I wouldn't say i'm totally considering SRS. Im just having an interest in it. I had a bit of a scare a little bit back about possible testicular cancer and my reaction to the stress was not exactly what one would consider normal. I was actually somewhat excited at the possibility of having a decent excuse to get rid of the male parts. When I found out it was just an epididymal cyst, I was actually disappointed that my excuse went out the window. Thinking back on my reactions to that event made me take a look at what this all meant to me and examine myself questioning why I felt that way. Im still not sure but it does make me wonder. I figure I should probably at least educate myself on what it all involves and the costs of everything. Thank you to those who have answered and the future answers to come. Like I said, its more of a self exploration for me at the moment than a flat out decision to truly become an all out woman.

It would be a shame to have to close this thread because members can't take the time to note that the OP specified answers from those who have completed their surgeries, but it is starting to look like that might be the best option.
I have tried to be lenient with those who ignored the OP's request but the next person ignoring the request in this thread gets an infraction - don't say you haven't been warned :Angry3:
It gives me no pleasure to have to act the BBM, but if members cannot have the courtesy to respect a specific posting request then they will bring it upon themselves.

Hiya, I am at about $47,000 spent. Over several years of course, not all at once. I still need to finish electrolysis (sad, that) so more money to spend. The big years was 2011 when I had surgeries, they all added up to $37,000 -- including travel costs to Thailand.
That is the exact answer for me, but I will say this about that: should you go down this road, you will likely spend as much as you have. I say that because at each step there are choices, and often they vary in price {by quite a lot sometimes} You will tend to pick what is best for you and the best you can afford {two different but simultaneous decisions}.

Hello Eve,
It's been over two decades since I had orchiectomy ( over 40 yrs for that) SRS and Electrolysis ( I only needed a tiny bit). and I didn't have any FFS. So, I'd say all that I had was around $28,000. I had insurance that paid for a lot of the surgeries so, I guess after reimbursement it wound up costing around $3,000 out of pocket.

I have spent $18,400.00 on SRS and about $11,000.00 on electrolysis so far but still have some time to go.

My trip in April to Dr Chet cost me $24,000 for SRS and some facial surgery. Electrolysis and laser is over $10k, and still going... Therapy was about a $1000, and HRT was somewhere about $1000 also. Upcoming BA next month is going to be $5000.
Maybe next year, I will get a little bit more FFS. I need some skin tightened up, but I dont see that being too expensive. That should complete my list!

Thank you for all the feedback ladies! That helps a lot. Right now nothing can be done because I can't even afford to live on my own (live with spouse right now). She would 100% not support me in this and i would be alone with the decision so for the time being, I just have to focus on being happy in the skin I have.... which is probably the hardest thing in the world to accomplish. I'll get there though. The official decision to try and do everything isn't made yet but I did want to at least educate myself in the matter. I appreciate all your replies!

One unexpected expense was the need for personal care workers, basically, sitters with some homemaking training but no medical training. Right from the start when after returning from hospital and SRS, and the Doctor instructed that post-ops not be left alone for the first 48 hours. They were a life saver, especially since my emotional and psychological state was challenged by post-op complications. Cost $3,000, ($18 per hour, 8 hour shifts), money well spent.
