View Full Version : Dressing Service....

About 2 weeks ago on television, I saw a programme about a man who owns a shop which sells make-up and women's clothes which also provides a dressing service by the owner.

Although I've never used a service like this, surely having a GG do the dressing would add to the appeal.

Do you think so too?

I've never been to one run by either a man or a crossdresser. I prefer the company of women, so the services that I have patronized in the past have been run by women. Additionally, women know more about how women should look and act than men, even crossdressing men. If you are paying for expertise, go to the most expert... women.

Warm regards,
Christina Nicole

Why is it a good question? Do women know what men really like? Women know [my proposition] what women "think" men would like. I would go with the guy.

I suppose then, that it depends upon one's goals. If one has a crossdressing fetish, go to another crossdresser or a guy. If one wants to look, dress, and act as a woman, to be out in the company of women, and to be passable and acceptable to women, go to a woman because you can't get that from a guy.

I would rather spend $100 an hour for a few hours with Denaƫ Doyle (http://www.femimage.com/) rather than a free day with Miss Vicky (http://www.fairplaytv.com/). Not that there is anything wrong with the latter, but it simply hold zero interest for me. Still not all places run by women are equal. I would not be interested in going to Veronica Vera's (http://www.missvera.com/) "school" either.

Warm regards,
Christina Nicole

I was seriously thinking about going to Fairplay in NY for a makeover and some pictures. I can make myself feminine in every aspect except makeup and would like to see what I would look like when done by a professional. It is expensive and if not worth it I would like to know before spending the money.

I'm hoping to take Sarah to Emerald Fantasy, which is in Seattle. I haven't heard any of the gurls here on the forum talk about it, but I found it one night while surfing the Web. It looks terrific. Hope the experience lives up to the advertisement.

If there is one thing I'd love is a "dressing service."
This is an area I really want help with!

It really depends on the individual running the service---just because a person is a GG doesn't make them autimatically good at doing hair and make up for a TG---just go to a local mall---you will see plenty of GGs that can't do themselves well let alone anybody else---what you need to look for is a person who has training in cosmotology----the woman who cuts My hair in drab also does a really good job styling My wigs---also I have two transexual friends who have given Me invaluable help in make up and hair---they taught Me how to stop always dressing as a Goth, Fetish Queen and wear makeup and clothes more suitable to the street and mall---although I still on occasion for really hot dates use more exteme makeup---your best bet is to contact other TVs, even in this forum, to see where they might recommend--if you live in Maine, send Me an e-mail and I'll be happy to recomend some people. Karen does do good work. Her rates are reasonable and she knows what she is doing. The items she sells are good quality and fairly priced. The only minor nit that I would pick with her is that the forms she recommended to me were a little on the large side. I tried them on, so shame on me for not insisting on a more reasonable size.

I have not been to fairplay, but I looked over the website. It looks more fetishy than I would be comfortable with. Karen (FemmeFever (http://www.femmefever.com/)) doesn't do fetish, so I am quite comfortable with Karen. On the left coast, I have visited Carla's (http://www.carlas.com/) many times. Carla formerly owned salons that served women, but she grew tired of dealing with women so she opened a place that serves transgendered women. She knows what she is doing, too.

I rarely get to Seattle, so I've never been to Emerald Fantasy. Looking at their website, $199 for a 2 hour makeover sounds excessively expensive. Karen and Carla charge about half of that and even less if you bring your own clothes. Going to Karen or Carla is a good experience since they can teach you special tricks to improve your looks.

Once you have a good idea of what you are doing and if you have you own clothes, why not get a makeover from the Mary Kay lady, or Merle Norman? They won't charge you for the makeover, just for the makeup you purchase. You get to walk away with both makeup and the experience, without feeling like you were robbed.

Warm regards,
Christina Nicole
