I just bought my first pair of high heels. I was at Payless early so I grabbed a pair of black size 12, 3" heels tried them on. Walked a bit, I was a little unsteady. The associate came around the corner while I was trying to walk in them. I wobbled a bit. She said "Are you dressing up for Halloween?" I said "Yes I'm going to be a high priced hooker". She laughed and said you'll have to get that walking in heels thing down first!" She told me to take small steps in the heels until I got used to them. I 'practiced' a bit then bought them. I felt so great at having high heels that actually fit that I wore them the rest of the day!

Glad you like the heels, there nothing more sexy than a pair of high heels. I only got 2" heel becuse I'm 6' 2" tall, but that still looks good with a knee length skirt and hose. Hope you have lots of fun with them! Hugs, Bria

I'm so happy you found a pair and that you were able to get some guidance on how to walk in them. I would like to buy my husband a pair but don't know what a size 9 man's shoe would convert to being in a woman's shoe. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. :)

That is wonderful. Enjoy them. Heels are fabulous. And she gave you good advice. Take small steps.

That's the excuse I gave the first couple of times. Now I look at the Payless website, find what I want, check to see if they are in stock atone of my three local stores, then walk in, try them on, take them to the register and pay for them, and out the door I go. I don't want to be limited to shopping once a year.

Veronica, the best advice I can give you is to actually measure his feet, using a women's measuring template. (Payless had a downloadable one that I used; they probably still have it.) I've found that I'm 10-1/2 in men's sizes, but 11W in women's. The old "add 1 (or 2) to your men's size" rule of thumb isn't always accurate; look at the foot, not the shoe.

Thank you Amy, I'll look for that and use it if it's still there. You've been a great help ;)

Joanne. Congrats on the new heels. Enjoy them. As far as Payless goes, the associates I've met there have been great, even when they know that we aren't dressing for Halloween.

I bought my first pair of heels in a Venture discount store more than 30 years ago. Since then, I have bought all of my heels at Payless and have found that the associates have been super.

Heels are everyone's downfall. CD's, TS's, and a great many women have been captured by the lure of high heels. There is no cure. You're done for. You'll never be the same. LOL

After Halloween when you go back tell her that you liked the heels so much that you have decided to buy the store. :)

Get ready for the next question...are you dressing up for Thanksgiving? You will go back. Enjoy the shoes and congrats for wearing them all day...I have not mastered that yet.
