View Full Version : Girls in their mid 20's

I've noticed I'm quite young in this forum and wanted to know who's in their mid 20's, like me. I think the older girls can share a lot of experience with me and I could learn a lot. But I'm interested in hearing the younger members' stories. What do they do? How they dress? Are they girls part or full time? Do they consider going out with guys or girls? Or both? Hope to hear some stories!

I'm 24. I am heterosexual, wish I were a lesbian.

I'm currently still mostly in the closet but I'm starting to come out. After coming out to some of my better friends I will probably be venturing out some in small doses at first.
But hopefully after I get my hair a little longer, get my ears pierced and actually buy some complete outfits I will be going out more. Right now the plan is to start incorporating
a more feminine style into my everyday look. My biggest problem now is that I only have the few items that I've been brave enough to buy, but those are mostly panties and bras.
And a few athletic items I've bought online. Nothing that classifies as normal going out attire for a girl.

I have a big shopping trip planned with my cousin and possibly another friend in November so between than and Christmas I plan to load up on some of the things I need and plan to start
getting more involved with my dressing going into the new year!

So yeah, that is a short story of where I'm at now.

When young you experiment a lot and dressed as an attractive girl it is not odd to kiss a guy passionately.
I would go on dates and accompany guys who did not have partners.
I was with my group of girlfriends and the guys knew what I was.
Usually quite fun as long as we were not made too much fun of.
Shopped for clothing with the same girls and my early clothes shopping was always enjoyable.
I always spent over the budget and had to pay my debts on pay day.

Heyy im 24 and part time. Ive started from shaving my legs and wearing shorts in public. No one in the family knows about me shaving legs. Would love to completely dress one day and go out. Nothing better than feeling your freshly shaved legs. Dont know how to proceed further without letting anyone in the family know.

I'm 27, just joined this forum a few days ago. Been dressing as long as I can remember and have now been married 3 years to a supportive wife. I also bicycle a lot, so I can shave my legs and nobody asks any questions. It's fantastic. Unfortunatley most of my dressing has been at home so far. I would love to go out in public sometime, but still not that daring.

I'm 23, closet crossdresser and heterosexual.

Recently shaved my legs and my moustache (which has been with me forever). I'm currently pursuing my Masters in Electrical Engineering so don't have much time, space (I live in a boys hostel) or clothes for dressing up. Only my girlfriend knows about my crossdressing. She wants to be supportive but finds all of this hard to cope with so it'll be baby steps for me.

Oh my gosh, I am 23 too and studying Engineering as well. I don't have a girlfriend but have been going out with a girl I really care for. I really like being with her and love having her around. I have shaved my legs too. But cover them in public. I always wear jeans so, no problem there. Thanks Sheryl, I was hoping for a reply like yours.

Just to be clear, I've only been with women in my life. But I have wondered what it would be like to go out dressed up. If a guy flirted on me, would I play along? Would I still act like a woman? Or force myself to act as a guy to scare him off?

Well, I'm in my 60's but missed my female dressing time up until my 50's dammit. I envy y'all being able to dress young and not break the rules. So I break the rules and enjoy looking and feeling younger. At least the mirror lies from a distance.

Sorry to intrude on your thread.

I am 24, have a FANTASTIC wife and I only dress up at home. I do have a pair of womens jeans that I wear out but noone would tell they are for a woman without looking closely at the cut lol

I am a full time ......... software engineer :D

I'm 22, I fully dress sometimes and do like to go out as a girl. I've done so a few times walking and shopping. I've worn different outfits out and sported different makeup looks. Sometimes I get attention and sometimes I go unnoticed. The rush is always there and so is the pleasure. I've had one encounter where a few guys in a truck asked me to hangout to which I shook my head in refusal.

I am in my mid 50's and have been dressing s1nce I was about 5. In my 20's I dressed often, because my girlfriend/wife was supportive. But I never went out until I was over 30 because I was afraid. Now I know that I missed a lot. So my advice for all you younger girls, is to make good and safe choices, but don't miss opportunities.

I've never gone out dressed and given the way things are going I doubt I will anytime soon.
Although getting hit on by a guy would be a very new experience. You can always say you're interested in women. No need to drop your act. Or you could just flirt a little and then answer a call in your male voice. That'd freak him out :heehee:

Hi Michelle, Welcome to our forum when you are here you are home.

I'm 20 three & a half times I've been dressing for over 65 years self taught.
it was almost impossible to find any info in my early years of dressing.

you younger girls are so lucky to have the internet to help find information and friends
with like minded interest

I'm 26 and an psychologist. Been dressing occasionally since I was 10 or so but just recently I've been accepting myself more and more. I'm heterosexual and dating a great girl for two and a half years now, although she doesn't supports it and I think it will affect us negatively along the way. Would love to dress fully sometimes just for kicks and giggles but the context here is somewhat hostile...

I'm 21 and really rather struggling with the whole deal. Been slowly accepting it but recently rejected it for a month (didn't purge though) So I'm still kinda lost :) I study at uni though and I'm hetrosexual.

I always thought it was perhaps due to being closed minded (well I was) and I always thought I was the only one (haha) so never tried to find other people. And I think that when I did try to find others I was always too embarrassed to actually join any forums.

I'm 27. I dress whenever I get the opportunity, wouldn't mind having more time to dress up fully :)
I try to dress as GG's would of my age and what I would like to see my GF wear. I do have a thing for tight, short dresses so... I would just like to try going out in the first place, and i'd really wouldn't care if they be boys or girls, although I do favor girls most :)

Advice for the 20 somethings. Don't miss those years. I am in my 60's and I go out and have gone out alot from clubs to shopping and movies. I wish I had gone out more when I was younger Looking back I think I passed pretty well back then but I just didn't take advantage of it enough. I got more comfortable in my 30's and did go out a lot then and I think I did a decent job of passing, got asked to dance in a straight club once, said no. With the great resources and the internet now you really have no excuse. Just try it and you will be surprised that most folks even if they read you just don't care Have Fun

I'm 23 as well and have never gone out in public. I dress when my brother is out. We share an apartment. I have just began accepting I like dressing and enjoy so much trying new clothes. I have a closet full of girly clothes because my sister used to live here and left a lot of things.

I sometimes underdress. But mainly, I go for a full outfit. Planning on getting some make up.

I'm 31, about to be over a 10 yr marriage, lesbian inside, and have gone out in public quite a lot lately. I'm going to be going back to school very soon and plan on full time dressing while in school and possibly going further in terms of hormones if I can find a therapist willing. Long term, I plan on making the switch so I'm not sure if I fall into the same category as most others responding.

The point of the thread is to know what people who are more or less in my age range do. We are all different in one way or another, but we all dress like women, and enjoy it. Your answer still counts.

I am very practical when it comes to dressing out. I wore some shorts and a nice blouse. However, when I am experimenting at home, I try all sorts of different clothes for my own personal photo shoots.

I'm 20 :)
I don't consider myself to be a crossdresser as much but technically I guess I am xP
I have told my girlfriend and my mom about myself and the way that I feel and both still love me so that's a plus c:
I'm again technically a heterosexual, but I identify as a woman so I guess lesbian? Who cares at this point I don't :P
I do whatever I need to so that I can try to be happy with my body and crossdressing helps xP I also like to dress like any other girl would. It's nice feeling n_n

I am part time I guess. I still am in college and live with my girlfriend and her mom. Her mom doesn't know and I really don't want to tell her atm because who knows how she would react xD I don't think she would care but it's just a part of me that she doesn't have to be formally told about really.

I am not attracted to guys and I don't intend on dating one ever unless my girlfriend happens to be a transsexual xD

I turned twenty-four in September, started dressing a few months earlier but have had the desire to do so for much longer. Only dress at nights, once or twice a week, in my home. So much happier after I finally decided to embrace my inner femininity and go for it, now I'll never go back. I'm such an awkward repressed stiff in male mode. Dressing up let's me explore my wild side.

Let's make the most of our youthful looks while we can. The years pass by way too fast.

I'm 21, so I suppose I barely count as being in my 20's. I'm a writer by trade and I dress as often as I can (non-accepting roommates. Ugh.), but I'm honestly just a confused mess when it comes to how I classify myself, gender-wise. I'm bisexual, so both guys and girls are fair game in whatever "mode" I'm in. But, seeing the trouble I have trying to go out with both guys and girls, I'm not sure where that leaves me, ha.

Get that Masters in EE..... Best thing I ever did, and it's paid for two wardrobes, a ton of therapy, and a happy life. :)

28 here,

I'll try to speak to all of your questions in turn, and also wanted to say good thread, been curious about this myself too!

What do I do?

Accountant by trade, gamer, film/book buff and chef in my free time. I've felt compelled to crossdress for almost 6 years (wow it flew!) and do so whenever I have the privacy and time. Still very shy about it all irl, but it's pretty cool here so I do open up a bit to the members here. Most of them went through/are going through the same thing.

How do I dress?

Varies, but usually in 'comfort clothes' like cami's and tank tops, shorts, skirts or yoga pants like tonight. Sometimes dresses and leggings, a bit more glam (for me anyway) like in my current avatar. Sometimes casual in girl jeans and a t-shirt, weater or blouse. I use a lot of shape-wear like a padded hip/butt girdle from underworks, silicone forms of different shapes and sizes, and wigs. Getting the body-shape and contour is important to me when I dress.

Am I a girl part or full time?

Part time thing for sure. I couldn't imagine being full time, too much effort involved, but hats off to the full timers out there. But yeah, when I have free time to myself dressing is almost automatic these days. Seems to hit more often in the fall I've noticed.

Do I consider going out with guys or girls? Or both?

Girls only. To the point where if I were actually female, I'm certain that I would be a lesbian.

24 here, married. I'm an engineer working in automotive. Part-time, I guess... never have gotten completely done-up. I tend to dress casually and have a feminine male look, but I do enjoy the occasional skirt or dress. Definitely straight, but have had a few moments with guys over the years, usually when partying.

Hey Michelle

I just turned 26, I have been interested in femininity since I was a kid. Most of my childhood I shied away from public exposure but I am now starting to venture out a little more. I am just a part time dresser and have periods where I don't dress, usually because I have a pretty busy schedule and can't find the time. I would like to work on making my face more passable but it may take some time. I would probably fall under the category of bicurious, I am married but my wife has known about me since before I proposed. I have thought about being with a guys before I meet my wife but I am very happy with my life the way it is. Anyway I try to dress the way I find women attractive. Although the way I look and move is anything but elegant, I try to look elegant... I'm glad so many people have posted on your thread I hope it keeps on.

I'm 21. Just starting to come fully to terms with my gender identity. I knew about how I felt about my gender since... well, since forever. Bu until recently had resigned myself to just "be happy with the body I was given." You know "just deal with it" and all that. But that's no way to live life. I've been meditating a lot lately about how and when to tell my family/friends. Certain financial considerations have gven me a little stress too, but not nearly as much. It's really scary doing it "all alone". There's practically no LGBTQ community in this town, I have no local friends, and nobody I know even knows about.. my gender identity crisis and the fact that I dress.
So I guess you could say I am a -very- part time crossdresser, still trying to get comfortable as the me I always should have been.
As far as who I go would go out with, I'm pansexual, so I don't see another person gender/gender identity as much of a factor in attraction.

I'm in my mid twenties and I am quite fluid with my gender, I either present as a feminine/androgynous male, or a female. I live in NY, I am a student, and luckily I have the privilege of living in a somewhat more open minded area. I like feminine people, so I just look for those characteristics in a partner, I usually date women since women are more likely to fit that criteria, but anyone that is cute is fair game.

Of course you can post! The point of the thread is to share experiences for young dressers to read. It doesn't matter if you are a GG or a CD. Besides, I'm sure many here will find relationship stories interestig and useful.

Thanks for posting!

I am 23, Greenie's SO, and work with adults with developmental disabilities. Like Greenie said, my wardrobe is small. She got me most of my things, but she is getting good at picking things I like. Namely, things that feel good. A soft dress or super cozy scoop neck shirt. I don't dress too often, but we're moving slow and steady for the time being :). Thanks for the easy question I'm usually a big introvert and this thread just seemed unintimidating :)

I am 27, and my body feels like its older then that lately. My job is that of an EMT, lifting heavy people and it gets highly stressful sometimes as you can imagine. That's probably why my back is sore haha. I also teach martial arts and have been doing so since I was a teenager. I'm hoping to own my school someday so that can get off the graveyard shift and out of the ambulance.

I'm definitely part time as I'm very much in the closet. You'll never see my face in any of my pictures, nor any identify marks on the wall (in fact, most of my pictures are taken in a place when I don't live anymore (neither does the ex I was living with at the time) so I feel somewhat safe with my few pictures. I recently met a very accepting fried. She's great in that she's accepting without being pushy about it. She's also lives an hour drive from me, so I may be safe going out in "girl mode", which will be a new adventure for me. She also lets me get stuff delivered to her house, so that's another bonues.

As for what I wear, I have my different moods. I definitely have my **** mini-skirts, although I might be getting too old for that (saying that makes me feel older), but I generally like to just be a woman, so I have my casual and my dressy stuff. I have pretty good legs, so I do like my short skirts and shorts. Not so much heels though, because I'm 6'0, so the heels are just for at home for me.

Dating, I love women. I don't think I could date a guy, but my "Jenn side" is curious about trying to be physical with one. I don't know if that'll ever happen, but I'm very happy dating women.

This was a great idea for a thread. I enjoy talking with other CDers, (check my signature haha) and it's great to be able to get into contact with people my own age.

I'm 26 and heterosexual just joined this forum! Slowly starting to understand all this CD for myself. From when I was like 6 until this year I was only really interested in wearing ladies watches. I have about 10 or so that I bought for my girlfriend but she lets me wear too.

My SO knows about everything, but it's gonna be slow for us to get all this in a reasonable spot to fit in our relationship.

It's great that you can share this with someone close to you. I personally, keep all to myself and only 'talk' about it with people on this forum. I hope everything works out fine for you two. Thanks for posting.

I'm about to be 27 next month and with a little encouragement from my wife I have just started to venture out of my comfort zone a little bit. I have also started also weight loss plan to help me feel better about myself so I can feel more comfortable being out.

More than 10 years ago, I also started to dress at 27 and did not hide myself, but I was so unbalanced and blinded by pink fog that I wasted a lot of money, 100's soon adding to 1000's on things that were eventually purged.

I've never purged yet. And to be honest, I don't feel a need to dress. It's more like a hobby in someways for me. If I'm alone at home and have the time, I fully dress, make up and everything. Then I have a shower and change into my everyday clothes.

I'm still on an early stage of dressing I guess. I only starting to discover this side of me and the feelings it comes with.
Thanks for posting Freeindress.

I think there are more girls in their 20s than some of us realise.
I wish I was still in my 20s. :)

My feelings exactly! I can go for days in drab not caring about it. But whenever I'm alone the urge just bursts!

To all of you girls afraid to step out into the world...Just do it!! Grow a thick skin along the way and enjoy yourself doing whatever you wish. Present well,be polite to others, and you'll have no problems....

I'm 26 also. Haven't really stepped out of the house either, other than getting drive-through food lol. I play around on webcams and such, which is fun, but hey, maybe at some point I'll actually talk to someone who can give me a real high five or something while dressed hehe.

I'm 26, nearing 27...

Don't go outside fully dressed, though sometimes I wear my girl jeans down to the mailbox or through the drive-thru at in-n-out (mmmmm).

I'm 28, Married and have been out a few times. I've been dressing for as long as I can remember and told my wife a few months before I asked her to marry me (which I highly recommend!)

My wife is very supportive and we wear the same size in clothes - which is great! I'm not really into the tranny/dragqueen/glamazon looks. I much prefer to dress like my wife - a normal, fashionable late twenty something. We shop together and she makes me try on stuff she buys.

As far as going out, for my first time, we went on a vacation to San Francisco and went out. It was one of the scariest, but most amazing things I've ever done. I fell in love with San Francisco and we've been back 4 times since and I dress every time. I've been out in New Orleans where I live twice, but my wife does not come, which is understandable.

If you're the person on the fence about going out or being who you want to be or confession to your SO, JUST DO IT! All you have to do is read all the poor stories from people 60+ who are going out finally and have tons of regrets. Feel blessed that at least you have the internet to tell you that you are not alone!

But I'm interested in hearing the younger members' stories.

I'm 31 an still consider myself one of the younger members :-p

What do they do?

I work in IT

How they dress?

I would say my fem dress is "average girl next door"

Are they girls part or full time?

part time

Do they consider going out with guys or girls? Or both?

Had been out with both prior to getting married, but really only interested in those that present as feminine (gg, cd, trans, etc.).

In your 20's...how fortunate you are these days! Things have really changed over time and it is a whole lot easier now. There are so many things available to help that did not exist years ago and society is accepting us alot more. 20-30 yrs ago the main mindset was to hide this nasty secret, be a guy and stamp it out...which practically never ever worked. If only I were 20 or so again....

What did yall start your wardrobe with? I have a lot of panties and lingerie but dont know where to start to try and possibly go out dressed one day. All of this is still really scary to me being young and in a really small town.

i started with panties, nighties and then bras and it took awhile to move more towards tops / skirts / dresses ... it took 7.5 years (3/4 a damn decade!) before i actually ventured out in public and i did that from time to time for the next year or so and then kinda backed away from it ... but i'm the kind who doesn't pass and doesn't really attempt to! which does take guts / throws people off for sure!

I'm so jealous of CDers in their teens/early twenties, we didn't have as many websites devoted to this topic back in the day.
