View Full Version : Point of no return?

So somebody was asking about the point of no return in regard to transition and after seeing my pics from today, I'm having another thought about where that point may be.
My Halloween costume is decidedly not very feminine yet there is no question about what I look like anymore. It occurred to me just today that I have finally reached a point where passing as a MAN would be a challenge.
Seems like only a few months ago when I was bemoaning my obvious male traits. Oh yeah, it WAS a few months ago. What a difference a few months and a tiny procedure or two can make. ;-)

Yup I agree passing as a man for you would be a problem. Problem or blessing its all you.

Love the costume, but I really love the face and figure. You're more than a woman. You're a broad.

I hit a point of no return today when I visited my family doctor and told her that the main reason for my depression is gender dysphoria. It's not much in the grand scheme of things but my lifelong secret has been spoken now and I can never take that back.
She was very kind and sympathetic and is going to help me find an appropriate counsellor or therapist.

If I could be so lucky. I am just trying to figure out which procedures that I will need.
The costume is pretty feminine if you ask me.

Definitely all woman! The acid test is when you can wear something that is masculine but look totally feminine. You pass with flying colours.

I agree, passing as a man will be a challenge now.

It wasn't me sheriff - you can go ahead and arrest me anyway. I think that 'point' from a mental perspective is quite subjective - for me it was years ago when I decided to actually do something about what I feel.

Great costume although I'd disagree where you say it's decidedly not feminine. The gist of it may be masculine but the feminine cues put it over the top (your shape, the top). Looking at your pictures, there is zero question as to your gender which is a wonderful thing.

Misty, NicoleA, fascinating different perspectives, one objective (as viewed by what others see) and one subjective (viewed by internal decision shared by word only).
I can't say when I had a transition event horizon, I did HT and had budding breasts for a few years but coupled that with verbal denial. I guess in Ian 2013 when I came home and said I was starting transition and thus ended verbal denial, it felt like an event horizon had been passed.
But I still pass as male at work so maybe not.
When I dress as I want, gender outlaw, I confuse people. I was at a music festival last weekend and had two encounters with others who took me female, then realized I wasn't, and had personal omg moments over their confusion. At least one had been drinking so . . . ;^)

Smile first, and ask questions later! Your outside packaging says "male", but beneath all that you appear to be a soft sensuous woman who is comfortable and confident. Thanx for sharing.

Melissa, you are definitely presenting an attractive feminine form, regardless of the clothing. I am not sure if you are implying some unhappiness about this, but it may be my mis-read of your post.
You look extremely attractive as a cowgirl and probably even more so in a LBD. If this was the objective you were working toward, I think you are well on the way.

For me, the point of no return was probably when I was 3 and decided to play with girls instead of boy, because I had more fun with girls, doing what girls did. Every time I have tried to be a "boy" since then has turned out disasterously.
However, I do understand your feeling at the stage you are now. I've reached the point where I can go out without putting any effort into my hair, make-up, or wardrobe, thinking I look like I'm still "male" and the cashier calls out "I can help you maam", or "Have a nice day miss".
It's wonderful!

Oh no I'm definitely not unhappy. I'm excited and amazed at how far I've come from the 230 lb dude who began this journey in January 2010. Just last year I would have never worn anything so masculine because I would have been terrified that someone would think I was a guy or that I was giving up on transition or whatever. Who among us would dress as a cowboy! I'm not being disingenuous, I know that all of my clothes are from the women's side of the store, but I'm just saying there is no way in hell I would have done that a year ago because I simply didn't pass well enough to forgo all the feminine cues. Yesterday I realized that all the fem cues I need are UNDER the clothes.
My wildest imagination is coming true and I owe it all to genetics and drugs and a LOT of surgery. For those that are curious about my procedures, if it exists, I've had it done.

Misty:
Great!! However, I am in the heart of Nebraska and been in the middle of the big ranch country and have seen many of the real cowboys and the COWGIRLS and I think, no really believe, that the term should be dressing in a feminine figure as a cowgirl. I see now cowboy but a wonderful cowgirl. Except you might be missing the huge belt buckle.
You look great, I can only hope to aspire to come near that.
Thanks for the photo

I think it has just taken time for your self confidence to reach the point where it should be... You look good and there should be no reason to deny it.

I reached my point of no return when I left my mother's womb. Even though I was released prematurely, I was not allowed to go back for the rest of my term.

You are many light years past the point of no return. You have carefully dusted your footprints away with the big leafy branch so that I can see not even a trace of the dude you left behind.

Misty there is definitely no cowBOY in there. It is all cowGIRL. You are absolutely stunning and should be as I know you are proud that you have come so far and can no longer even be thought of as a male.

Melissa,
You are all woman as far as looks. There is no way you could pass as a man. :)
You really look great!
I myself wish I had gone on M2F HRT decades ago and had the means to have the surgeries you had.
Take care,
