Until now I've considered it a choir... even more so with a cheap wig which I have to care for with love... but a few minutes ago I was standing there in the mirror while brushing my hair and I suddenly felt soooo relaxed! To go from that big mess to a (somewhat) silky smooth hair just felt sooo good! I actually wanted someone to do it for me while having a chat...

Anyone else enjoys brushing?

I love to get my natural (below my shoulder blades in length) hair brushed, when I brush it or hair salon brushes, I go every friday and get it styled. My treat to my self, I love the company of the stylists and the fun of just going and haveing my hair worked on..

oohh! How I'd love to grow my hair back! I used to have it a tad longer past my shoulders and all my female friends complimented me for it. You're a lucky girl Marshalynn! :)

Thankfully, I'm blessed with my own natural non-thinning hair. It's well below my bra band, and hasn't even been trimmed in over eight years. I believe the secret to taking care of your hair is to treat it very gently. Never yank the brush through, and work out any tangles with your fingers. Wash about twice a week, and always use conditioner while showering, just rinsing with water. No hair dryers or curling irons.

I've no split ends, just a real luxurious fullness that is a pleasure to experience. I'm really lucky! :D

My own hair feels like it's reaching down almost to my bra band by now. The part of my transformation when it feels like Amy really appears is after I've done my makeup, when I pull the ponytail holder out of my hair, shake it loose, and start brushing it out. I'm happy that my fiancee likes me with long hair, allowing me to be an "own-hair crossdresser." :)

You are lucky. I am almost cueball bald! What I wouldn't do to have my own hair back.

Hair a distant memory.

Back in my head banging rocker days, I had nice thick wavy hair midway down my back . . . now, not so much. I have that nice receding hairline which would make en femme long hair look very odd so I just shave it all off. Alas, I guess I will just have to live with brushing my wig.

It may be a good feeling, but whether it is natural or a wig, minimal brushing is always recommended. The grip a brush gets on hair is almost always stronger than the strength of the root. Hair should be gently cared for.

When I had long hair, I got used to it.
I always felt it was a bit of a chore and when I would get one of my girlfriends to brush it out, or go to a salon and have it set it seemed like heaven having someone else do it.
I could close my eyes and go off into the "pinkest trance" whilst it was being done.
I always went to get my hair set as a woman and this accentuated any fog I endured.

I probably am on the same track now as Isha in post #7. :)

I have long hair and the last thing I do after my makeup is take out my pony tail and let the hair fall to my shoulders. That's really the moment of transition for me; I love it.

Dawn, that is the "moment of transition" for me too. Couldn't have described it better.

Funny I found this as I just brushed out my 5 wigs...I try to do this often, just as I keep them very clean. The feeling of putting them on one at a time afterwards is so very fun! So yeah, can be a chore sometimes, but the cost of high end wigs kinda make it a must ;)

Not having my own hair I use wigs, but brushing my wig while on my head is usually the final step in the change process. It gives me a thrill as Ann emerges once more.
