Hi girls! I just ventured out of door for the first time dressed. Ok, so it was only driving around the block and never leaving my car, but I finally got up the courage to do it thanks to all of the wonderful support and encouragement from the girls on here. I do not post a lot, I kind of wait until I feel like I have something important to say, but you all mean so much to me! It was so nice to be out of the house finally! As you can tell I am sill excited.

Hugs to all of you for continuing to be my inspiration!
April

April, in a very short while you will look back and laugh at how you were even remotely nervous about driving while dressed. No putting that genie back in the bottle. Take care,

Hi April,

Congrats and it will only get easier. I think most start out with a drive and go from there. Before you know it you will be shopping in a busy mall.

Hugs

April, Congrats! I remember by first time out, driving, and stopping for gas a few times at night. Was VERY NERVOUS. But, it is ok to stay in the closet, too. Just pick your trips with caution, and have teflon, when anything unpleasant comes, and it does, sooner or later. But, most of the time it goes ok.

Congratulations. Its a very freeing thing to do when we finally get the nerve to do it. It was one of my happiest days of my lice. Ranks right there with the birth of my children.

Miss April, better watch out now you will want to be out all the time, congrats, I know how you feel, I remember the first time that I had to make contact with another person, and the SA did not give me a bad time or nothing, it is a freedom that only us girls understand, the feeling of really being in the world and not just watching from a distance, just one thing girl be careful and safe while out, there are a few that just don't like us no matter what, hugs girl

That's important. Just finding the courage to step outside is the biggest hurdle. The world isn't as scary as you imagined, is it?

The first time for everything is the hardest. Once you're out the door and away from home you can relax a bit but be safe driving. You might want to take a "boy bag" (male clothes) in case you have a flat tire or breakdown.

Next time, drive somewhere, park, and get out of the car. Park in a mall lot and walk over to the trash can and put something in it. Walk to a soda machine and buy a soda (don't forget your purse). Or drive to the center of the city, park, and walk down the street like you're going to your job or an appointment.

It just gets better with time and experience.

Congratulations!! Do you have an attached garage? I've considered doing a drive my first time, but for me the scariest part is walking from my front door to my car!

I do have an attached garage so that part was easier, but I wish I could have felt the wind on my legs and up my skirt!

It takes a lot of courage. I literally stood at the door unable to move several times...
