Something lighthearted for today... :D

I was informed by my wife that today is: National Men Make Dinner Day. So if you're thinking of broaching the subject of CDing with your spouse... hey it may be the perfect day to slide on those heels and slip on that apron

P.S. Yes, I know realize the key word there is "Men" and the point of this is for the man to give his wife a break. Before anyone gets touchy or serious, please remember this is just a joke, please take it or leave it as such. Have a great day everyone!

I did not realize there was a day devoted to men making dinner. I do that all the time. Today I am going to roast a chicken and mash potatoes. I had planned to do that anyway. I wonder if there is a day devoted to men baking (banana bread to be made today), wash day (whites are in the washer right now), vacuuming (d0one and already put away), wash the dishes (as soon as I eat breakfast).

And, all this is being accomplished in a black with red roses floral Venezia Jean dress, three inch black heels, and black undergarments (slip, garter girdle, bra and panty).

Of course, it would be nice to serve my wife dinner attired as such. But, alas, I turn into a pumpkin at 3:30 PM!

If you have an accepting wife (I do) it sounds like fun, and a good excuse to get out the maid's outfit or do it June Cleaver style. If I decided to serve Chinese food, I would certainly have to wear a cheongsam.

Stehp, is there room for another at the table, I also like fried onion pieces in my mash, I'll bring some white wine.

Guys - do not wear wife's best white blouse if cooking, especially cooking curry

Last night I got home before my wife, she called minutes after I got home to say she was on the way and would stop and pick up pizza. That was good timing as I was just starting to think about what to make for dinner, but her call gave me about 45 minutes to shower and get all dressed up, set the table and pour wine like a good housewife of the 50s or 60s would when her husband came home. When she got home she was suprised and pleased, we had a nice evening and I got to be Bria all evening. Didn't have on a french maid outfit though, just a black skirt a purple top with sparkles hose and heels and wig, no makeup, still haven't gotten her to let me shave the beard! Bria

I'm glad a couple of you got to have some fun with the thread and relay some experiences! :-)
While there wasn't any dressing involved here, my son and I cooked up some breakfast for everyone for dinner.

Play dress up and be a man in a dress. :)
Do a good job of it though no sloppy makeup application.
Wear an apron, you don't want to stain that dress.

Every day at our house is a "man make dinner day". We sort of, mostly my wife says it is Suzy Homemaker make dinner day. I also roasted a chicken last night with roasted carrorts, celery, onion and potatoes. Tonight will be a creamy chicken pot pie baked from the left overs. Suzy must also make meal plans. I love to cook and always dress to do so and my wife appreciates it.
Hugs
Ellen Jo
