Hi
I came it to my doctor about a year ago, she was brilliant but had little knowledge of gender identity. She did refer me to a phsyciatrist who I saw in about 7 weeks she was also very pleasant and asked the normal questions ie childhood, teenage life and so on,she diagnosed gender dysphoria and recommended my doctor to refer me to a GIC and also said that physco sexual therapy may help
I have been having councilling now with two therapist one in burnley and now in accrington and they both have been brilliant,they have helped me come out of my shell and I have been going to see the latter therapist as Jessica
I have also received a letter from Leeds GIC letting me know that I'm on next years intake 2014
Even though progress as been slow I have been very pleased with all the help I have been given, I intend to go full time as Jess on New Year's Day
It takes a lot of courage to approach the doctor but once done it's like a huge weight of your shoulders and I admire and respect everyone who as gone thru this
