I hope that you and yours had a pleasant Thanksgiving. Mine was OK, actually not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Anyway. . .
A relative walks into my home office and pulls a book off of my floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. Over a thousand books to choose from and he chose a Jewish prayer book from a shelf with several different ones. He flips it open to page 23 and starts to read aloud the "Prayer For Transgender Transitioning."
(When starting)
Blessed are You, Eternal One, our God,
Ruler of time and space, the Transforming One to those
who transition / transform / cross over.
(When complete)
Blessed are You, Eternal One, our God, Ruler of time and space,
who has made me in His image and according to Her will.
Praised are You, God, who created the world, who grants us life,
who sustains us, and who has brought us to arrive at this moment.
What are the odds? That book and that page? To the best of my knowledge I am not out to that part of the family yet.
Peace,
Debby

Blessed be are the good of heart. You also have a great mind, look and personality to go with all that. You are definitely blessed and God just sent you an early holiday gift. Thanks for sharing.

How appropriate that the Sheyechayanu is the prayer for post-transformation!

"I don't believe in coincidences" as said on the TV crime shows. Certainly that relative knew what they were reading --- what did they then say to you? I would guess two sides of your family get together more often than you would believe.

We often think we keep secrets when really, we are the last to know.

Wow, very interesting!! What is the title of that book?
It is "Siddur Sha'ar Zahav." It is a very lovely prayer book published by a synagogue/temple in San Francisco named surprisingly, Sha'ar Zahav (http://shaarzahav.org/). (Hebrew for Golden Gate.) It is a very open minded congregation and was proof to me that there are religious people out there that don't hate those different from themselves. The Trans March route goes past the congregation and it is pretty cool to see the religious school kids cheering from the windows!

How does one say transgendered in Hebrew?
For that matter, I wonder how it might be said in Norwegian! Google translate says 'transseksuelle'. I doubt that's korrekt!

Basically it is "transgender" spelled out in Hebrew characters. This is the plural,
"transgenderim."

It is clear that he is watching over you, and you are not alone no matter how difficult the times get. You are a very lucky woman.

I'm sure you are familiar with the concept of B'Sherit, perhaps translatable as "Intended by Heaven."

I think in your case if someone read some book, it would say "Blessed is the one with the big lactators"
Damn them things are righteous

That's a beautiful prayer---and you should acknowledge--"message received"!! I believe I received a simular message recently. I'm now "allowed" to be a bit more free at home---the acceptance level has become very friendly. So, I have been looking for a dresser--small, but functional, so I can store my clothes, and ditch the stashed boxes. Walking the dog one night, someone left out a very small "dresser"--actually, more useful for jewelery, and small items. But,it was cute, and in good shape, so,I took it. A week later---someone "dumped" the perfect dresser, right in front of my garage. 3 drawers, and again, in perfect condition. More than a coincidence--I believe so! Whatever the source, it's in the house now, and I couldn't be happier with the turn of events.
B'Sherit, perhaps translatable as "Intended by Heaven."--- yep--that sounds like the real deal!
