When I intend to go out to the club to dance or whatever en femme. I usually set steps to complete to ultimately accomplish my goal. I know what details have to be attended to to make a successful outing and these are my own personal "standards of excellence" that I have set for myself. Basically I have the mindset that Yoda had when he told Luke Skywalker to use his telekinetic abilities to free his X-Wing ship from the swamp:"Do or do not. There is no "try". This helps me achieve my goal of going out en femme to have a good time. I'm wondering how others fare in this respect? :)

I am out and about most every day.I find that it is the outfit choice that I am most fickle about. Once I make that decision, things roll along pretty well.

I have no stated "standards of excellence". I try to dress for the occasion, venue, time of day and my personal feeling while trying to put together an outfit. I only want to please myself. I also can live with less than perfection because I have fortunately learned that in a semi-dark environ like a cozy wine bar or good restaurant no one will ever notice a minor flaw in my presentation, a loose thread, too much or too little makeup, a pimple on my cheek, a small run or snag in a pair of nylons or tights. I do try to put together the best, but am more than satisfied with less than that because it never really adds to or detracts from my ability to enjoy my time out interfacing with others, which is my ultimate goal when going out.

Once I have everything in place there is little doubt, about it, I just go!

I guess I do that too, just never thought about it in such detail. It just seems kind of obvious.

I don't think I really set any goals the few times a year I go out. I have in mind a few places I want to stop and visit or shop. I don't know. To me setting goals while en femme would seem to take the fun out of it. Unless I'm just not thinking about certain things as goals. BTW, Kate, love your avatar for the day.
