Mistaken for F. Member of Board at Xmas Party!!!

This could be a new CD 'milestone' for me - Last evening I went, en femme, to the annual holiday party thrown by the thrift shop I volunteer at (Philly Aids Thrift or PAT) where nobody knew about my CDing and I surprised everybody!

Nobody recognized me, even to the point of having to point out my name tag for a few. I found out later in the evening that while I was waiting to check my coat, the staff was trying to figure out who I was and it was suggested that I was a female member of the board of directors that nobody recognized!

The glasses are new and my fist pair of dedicated 'girl' glasses. I had a blast at the eye glass place, picking out & fitting my girly glasses, but that is a whole other story....

I'm Treasurer of a local charity here (board member, if you like) but I think it may be some time before I <probably> freak out all our staff at their Christmas get together, or even go along to a board meeting.... hmmm. you have my admiration for achieving your new milestone.

I bought the dress a few weeks ago on a trip to the King of Prussia Mall - the dress, a size 10, fit sooooo beautifully in the dressing room at the Talbots that I had to buy it. It also may well have inspired my 'coming out' to my thrift shop friends as I felt a huge need to show off my new dress in an appropriate setting.

So, you should just show up at the next board meeting and act as if you belong there. Take a seat, participate in the discussion, vote on a few issues. It seems everybody assumes you are a member already, so you can have some influence without needing to bother with the trivia of an election or any real responsibilities. Sounds perfect to me! :)

Wow! Thanks everybody - I really like my new look. I didn't think I would appear femme enough in a short wig, but I do. I had the great fortune of seeing the wig on a woman first, in fact she took it off for me to try on!

I ended up sitting for dinner with a couple of real female members of the board. They seemed really nice and were very complimentary without seeming the least bit put-off or bothered. There were a couple of women staff members who didn't look too impressed, but overall I got lots & lots of compliments from both men and women. I love it when people tell me how beautiful I am en femme because I don't recall anybody but my mother saying such about my normal guy self!!!

Methinks the couple of women staff members were jealous of thee. You do look great. Love the glasses (I have a pair of female reading glasses I wear -- you know those $10 ones they sell everywhere). One of these days I will get a real pair of women's prescription glasses.

I feel like I've gotten to a new place with the CDing with the new wig and dedicated girl glasses. I never really liked the other wigs I've had and always felt like the wig and makeup was something I did just in an effort to not be too obvious. Now, I have a simple look that look good too, if I can say so myself. Here's a quickie from yesterday:
