As I get older and as I spend more time on line with my sisters here and else ware I actually feel more like a woman. I think I am thinking more about it and thinking more like a woman. Perhaps it is the power of suggestion, but at the rate i am feeling this I think I may actually become one someday for real, when for many years felt that I was only a cross dresser now I feel the need to be a real woman. It scares me a great deal

I know how you feel. The same is going on in my head too. At my age (48)I am thinking it is because my tostestrone levels are dropping. I have no proof or ever read anything to back this up. It scares me too. I do know that I want more girly days. And I am not getting them. keep on gurlen.
Can't say that I have been there...jusrt enjoying the best of both worlds and lve being on top of the world..."living the dream!":) ;)

Yes Ashley, I do find, as I get older, I am feeling more like I am a generic woman. I am not sure of the reason, but I am enjoying the feeling. If I was not married, I would be acting on those feelings to the point of living f/t.

My first time, I felt guilty....like I was "sinning." I thought something was wrong with me. I joined the Marines because they "made a man of you." I still loved wearing women's clothing. I had my stash off base in California.
A couple of years ago, I decided that I was not going to fight it anymore. I started taking offshore estrogen tablets. I have taken them for two years. During that time, I have noticed a mellowing...a sense of being more at peace with myself and others. I have now escalated to taking female hormone injections. Will I go all the way? I don't know - but I do know I am starting a journey. Isn't that the way all adventures begin?

Rikki - where do you get these injections? At a doctor's office, or do you do them yourself? How are you monitoring the effects on your body, and I am not just talking femme changes? What about blood chemistry, liver changes, etc etc?

When I decide to go to injections [two months ago], I looked in the physician's listings for a woman doctor. I called her office and told the receptionist/nurse what I was looking to do. I told her that I wanted to know if the doctor would give me female hormone injections. You could hear her in the background. When she came back on, her voice was much friendlier and she told me that I needed to see the doctor. This doctor would not BUT she would refer me to a doctor who would. That is how I got started.
I have been asked about blood chemistry, liver, kidneys, etc. Candidly, I don't care. Please don't take that wrong. I, PERSONALLY, don't care. I am ready to take a deeper plunge into the feminine world. I may have come in male but I am definitely considering leaving as a female.
Hugs......

Guess I'm a bit stunned by your post and the apparent lack of concern for your overall health. Have you read any of the recent threads in the transsexual part of the forum ?
I'm also curious which hormones you are receiving and the dosage.

I believe that what will happen will happen. I listen to my body and go to a doctor when it tells me to. I have felt no ill affects. But, to be honest, I don't know if I would really care. Please don't think me crazy. I just don't think I want to live until I am 90, 80, whatever. I will not spend my time worrying about staying alive. I go this way once. I want that one time to be the way I want it to be.
Regarding the hormones and dosage, I honestly never asked. I will ask the next time I go the doctor...three weeks.
Kim, thank you for your concern, though.

Hi and belated Happy New Year everyone,
I've found as I age (now 74) and lose my libido (testosterone??) that I can enjoy the fruits of crossdressing much more completely than when I had to compete with sexual drive. I find I can take my time getting dressed and enjoy the warm, wonderful feeling of being as feminine as I can get. As a caregiver I live a somewhat stressful lifestyle and when "en fem" I retreat into another blissful world. Unfortunately, my times as a "female" are all too limited in duration.
I have no interest in becoming anyone but a completely heterosexual cross-dresser, have no interest in being a GG, but enjoy being "en fem" whenever I can. I am a happy camper when dressed.
This forum has been the best thing for me in all my years of CDing and I think you all are a wonderful group of girls. Loads of love,
Cathy

And in the midst of all this, R, you found the time and the presence of mind to start your own TG consulting business! You're remarkable! Such a steady mind in the midst of all those hormones! How's business, anyway? You took down the links to your site. Did Wise Women Communications sue you for the name infringement? After all, they are professionals with actual credentials. No more photos of yourself, either!

And another thing, Rik. I don't mean to harp, but I have to assume that this "doctor" that you see to get your injections sat down with you and explained the pros and cons of hormone therapy. I can't see any physician who's going to dabble in such therapy NOT going into some detail with his/her patients. It would be simply irresponsible. Yet to your knowledge, these hormone levels aren't being monitored in any way? And you've been doing this for, what, only two months now? How many treatments have you had? Has this doctor done any follow-up work? How many times have you gone to see this doctor? You said you're not scheduled to see him/her again for three weeks. I have to assume that you've had at least two treatments. Wow! Judging from your picture (the one you took down), those hormones work fast! You might want to ask this doc if he's going to take any blood to test for the hormone levels, or you might end up getting your wish and not living to be 90. After all, they can cause clotting, which can lead to embolism, stroke, or a heart attack. And the emotional side effects can be debilitating, especially to one such as you who is in the midst of launching a computer consulting company. Ah, but you don't care, do you? Perhaps if your doctor wants to keep his/her license, he/she will care about those little details that lead to malpractice suits.
Just a thought.
