Hi All!

I've got a bit of a strange problem!

I'm in my mid thirties now, and ever since I was about 8, I've suffered from Varicose veins on my left leg. I've had them removed twice, and each time, they've come back, so I think I'm stuck with them :( .

They're not uncomfortable, or dangerous, but as you can imagine, my leg doesn't look very nice!

If you can stand to look  :D - here's a picture:

I used my camera phone, so sorry about the poor quality!

Haven't been able to shave my legs lately - apologies for all the hair :D

I usually just wear trousers when I'm dressed. I can wear thick tights to hide them, but my calf still looks enormous compared with my other leg.

So has anyone got any suggestions on how to disguise my leg so it looks more feminine? so I can wear skirts more often?

Thanks!

No real advise I can give, except to say its a good excuse for wearing tights or Pantyhose!

Don't know if you've tried suport stocking/tights?
Elbeo (think the spelling is right) make ones in varying degrees of support that might help minimise them. If you want to wear a lighter shade of hose then you can always use a bit of dermablend to diguise the colour of them also.

I have got some black support stockings for everyday use that come up to my knees- they do seem to squash the veins down a bit - I'll have to see about getting some support tights or full length stockings - thanks for the website - it looks very useful.

And high boots sound like a very nice idea - the veins only come up to my knee, so they wouldn't have to be too high!

Thanks for the suggestions

Drew,

I'm in my 50s and inherited my mother's varicose veins. When I dress femme, I go for gartered stockings and often wear National RHT support stockings, the run resist type and they seem to help me quite a bit.

Support hosiery is also available as pantyhose, thigh high and knee high.

My favorite online shopping spots for hosiery are shopnational.com and onehanesplace.com

Thanks Jadeanne,

I like the sound of gartered stockings :cute: :D

I'll investigate those two websites as well, I don't suppose they ship to the UK, but I might get some ideas.

Drew,

I haven't bought from here myself, but here's a place on your side of "the pond" that may be worth investigating:

You could always try the Dermablend Leg and Body Cover.
