View Full Version : What's your female "meh, I'll pass" thing?

MissTee

I was wondering if it's just me, or if others have encountered a female "thing" that you'd rather pass on than participate in?

For me it's applying make up. Have never gotten into that beyond lip gloss and am just not at all interested in pursuing it. Too much effort, too much trouble, or what ever it is I am not certain. I just know it holds zero interest for me.

Funny aside thought is that I will go to great lengths with my nails. Hours of artist detail with dotting pens, brushes, jewels, etc.

Dieting lol.Definately.

Then again maybe I am female in that respect because when I try I always end up yo-yoing.

I have to admit I can't think of a thing! Anything that exudes more feminine clues is my passion!

I'm not sure yet.

I can't think of anything yet that I wouldn't do.

Having hard times choosing what to wear. I'd just say "phuck it" and go with a tried and true formula. Sometimes pragmatism should rule.

I have to agree with most of what I have read here. If it meant not being able to be feminine or even fully female, there is nothing that I would pass on. However, after living with a wife for 20 years and having an 18 and 20 yr old daughters, I would say if I could be female that would be the best

I don't worry much about my voice or my "turkey neck". I also like to keep my makeup as simple as possible while still presenting well.

Miss Tee,
Misty or whatever,
It's my voice I would like to improve on.

Lyn,
Worry about your "Turkey Neck" just before thanksgiving. :)

I have to go with the nails thing, both finger and toe. I'm basically too rough in everyday life to maintain nice fingernails, at least every other day I've chipped one, have hangnails, banged one in a door or with a hammer etc., Toe nails, my feet are permanently dry and ashy just like the character "Ashy Larry" from the short lived David Chappelle Show, and my toe nails what's left of them are in pieces. Basically I'm still happy to have toes at this point in my life!

To be perfectly honest, I could pass on everything- Hair, skincare, make up, epilating, nails etc.
I have to push myself or I'm just lazy.
Then, when it all comes together and I stand in front of the mirror, I get such an overwhelming feeling. Men don't realise how much effort women take in their appearance.
Think I've lost about 2 hours sleep a night to my beauty routine.

Really I think mine is going out dressed. Other than around the farm, I really when dressed am satisfied to just enjoy myself at home all dressed up. I love all the other aspects of being dressed. Nails I don't do every time I dress though. Toes, make up hose n heels are a must and do I enjoy and about every thing else also. Some parts just seem a necessity for me.

Defiantly nails, as long as they're clean, I'm good. ( though I like them painted black)

I love long fake painted fingernails, but I've never painted my toenails.

pedicure for me, it just does not do much for me, probably because my toenails are nasty. they just don't grow right to look good.

For me it's eye makeup, I wear glasses so I don't see any point to applying it if it's hidden under my lenses

I'm the exact opposite from the OP I guess lol. Make-up is pretty essential if I'm actually concerned with looking at all decent, nails I have never given really any thought to. I bought a set of nails once and only 9 came. I took it as a sign that the universe agreed with me.

I could really do with out the sexism and second class citizenry. It be really nice to be able to go where i want and do what i want with out the fear of sexual violence too.

For me I love every aspect of being female and I can't think of anything I wouldn't like about being a genuine woman. I love makeup and nail polish and the pretty things women can wear without even thiking about it. Where as we have to really think about what we can wear and (get by) with. That's just me.

Great answers all. It could be I don't do make-up because I don't venture out; or, I don't venture out because I don't do make-up :)

Seriously, like Jaylyn, I'm perfectly content with a quick change (wig, dress, forms) and hanging out at home with the spouse. I fancy up the nails on weekends only.

I find lipstick and gloss a good compromise but I love full makeup when I can which is not very often, Yes it is a pain to take off especially in panic mode, I tend to use non waterproof mascara so you don't have to rub so hard. I also love nail varnish so I'm really growing my nails long, but again it's pain to get off and the smell is a real give away.

I love make up. Especially mascara. Mascara has an amazing transformative effect on my eyes...

So the problem with makeup and nail polish is removing it when going back to male mode right? That's the only problem I have with it anyway.

I have problems walking in stiletto type heels even if they're only 2 1/2 inches, so I would have to pass on walking in heels unless they're platforms or similar.

Nail polish. I like how it looks, but I hate applying and removing it and it smells horrible.

I could really do with out the sexism and second class citizenry. It be really nice to be able to go where i want and do what i want with out the fear of sexual violence too.

I recently met an ex-Marine who was born intersexed. After several failed suicide attempts he decided to transition to full-on female. She told me if she could go back she would not have done it. Why? She was just not prepared for the discrimination and second class citizenship as a woman. It was something she didn't even think of or fathom until she crossed to the other side. She was in disbelief.

I always wear closed toed shoes so it would be polishing my toe nails.

From my observation a lot of gg,s pass on female things too.

I wouldn't want to go back for anything, but yeah we still have a long way to go and to make matters worse there are some very retrograde forces at work out there.

sounds like someone didn't get the pre-psyhological support they should have. She didn't know? It was one of the first things I knew would happen. This is sort of one reason they have "us": do RLE before we have surgery...just sayin'

I can think of a couple of things that I wouldn't care for:
Having to wait in line at the ladies room, then having to do a major disrobe/re-assemble.

Makeup and nails, hate putting them on, love the results!

Electro has gone a long way toward making makeup easier but I don't really spend less time on it. I used to just put a layer of full-coverage foundation over everything but now without a beard I use sheerer makeup and concealer in the spots I need it. It's more complicated but I get a much more natural look.

Someday I'm going to work up the courage to skip the makeup and just put on some lipstick before going out. I'll probably find that, like most of my fears, this one exists only within myself as well.

Jewelry is the one thing I can't get excited about. I'm sure my wife would love it if I would because it would expand her choice of Jewelry but for now I have not much interest in it. But it could change down the road, so we'll see.

For me, just as for a lot of other apparently, it's my voice.. I know I should work on it.. and I really want to, but when push comes to shove.. I'm not doing those voice training exercises. :P

All the other things: make-up, walking in heels, breast forms, feminine manners, etc.. I will do those things!

I'm going to say perfume/fragrances are what I can do without. It's the only fem item my otherwise supportive wife says she would rather I didn't wear, too. It's not that I don't like them, the one time I tried some body spray, the scent was still pretty strong on me a couple of days later. Not a good thing since I'm not out to anyone but my wife. Fortunately I had several days off in which to let it wear off.

I DO NOT want to pass on any female "thing" that completes the look, the hair, nails, shoes, jewerly, clothes, perfume, makeup, LOVE All of IT! I do pass on needing to be around children.

Ressie I will only put full makeup on if I know it's for some time and nails the same. I found waterproof mascara and eyeliner doesn't always come right off, you know this when people tend to stare into you eyes the next day, bit unnerving!. I've only recently managed to buy shoes but despite arthritic toes I'm dam well going to wear 4" heels, wow what they do to your legs!

Erica, I LOVE perfume, it's one of my most favorite things. Right now I am really loving Coach perfume. My wife doesn't mind that I wear it and I wear it to work as well but only slightly sprayed on my panties so no one is going to smell it but me. :)

I have zero interest in painting my toenails. I am not a foot person, don't like mine or anyone else's feet. Granted, I am a partial dresser, but I have no interest in wearing a bra, to wear one. I do not have boobs, so no need. (of course needed when out in public for those who go out) but just to wear one, no need or desire.

I have never bothered with doing my toe nails. I almost always where nylons so I see no need to do the toe nails. Besides I hate the process of removing nail polish. It smells so gosh darn awful and it tends to take me forever.

Dancing. Not my thing.

Have a leg balance problem.

But I am a good conversationalist! That's my strong point!
