View Full Version : Adams apples

I have little to no Adam's apple you can barely feel it and it can not be seen. The Adams apple is enlarged in men due to hormones (testosterone) during puberty. I wondering if there is any relation between cross dressing and Adams apple size.

So how big is your Adams apple?

Candice, it wouldn't be a problem for me. My problem is shoulders like a UFC fighter from 20+ years in the military and prominent brow ridges. I will probably have to do the wig cap/tape trick when I start playing with makeup. The shoulders...well, I guess pure cardio and weight loss, maybe aided by declining testosterone and muscle mass with age?

You are fortunate, you look very fem without over the top makeup.

Candice,
You have a fertile and inquiring mind don't you.

I am devoid of any indication that I have one.
It all goes to help. :)

Quite noticeable.

Mine is small to nonexistent. At 6 ft tall and broad shouldered I guess that is one thing I have going for me.

Mine is huge.

Now I wonder if size matters here? ;-)

I have a rather large Adam's apple. Growing up it was the only thing(outwardly) that showed I was a guy. Now, of course, I hate it.

Mine is not very big, I can feel it but it isn't that big. The fat around my neck hides what adam's apple I do have, and it is not visible (one of very few advantages I have when it comes to crossdressing.)

Luckily, nothing visible here.

Mine isn't all that big...of course, that doesn't stop me from downplaying it to the extent I can, with a little contouring...

For me average size . . . it is definitely noticeable but it doesn't hit people in the face. While I try to hide it (scarves mostly) I also realize that with my looks the Adam's Apple is the least of my tells.

Large and pointy for me... no plans to change it but a scarf or choker is always good for camouflage.. I just must remember... :daydreaming:

About average I would say. The flab helps to hide it!

Definitely noticeable, I haven't compared to others, have thought about having it shaved, BUT, realty sets in and a scarf or t-neck is a lot easier. Be careful with your choices with everything in this community. You never know what might turn and bight your ass.
Much Love,

I would have to have an independent assessment of my size. I don't think it is very big but it is there.

Interesting thread; most responders seem to have little to none. Mine seems to be on the small side, but can be felt. If that isn't the case with you, don't worry about it; eventually, the turkey neck you develop as you age will hide it!

Candice,
You have a fertile and inquiring mind don't you.

Thanks Beverley, I've been looking into things and I'm starting to think that I'm not a full genetic male. This along with other non masculine traits I have is what is making wonder what I am, and get my genetics looked at. I was interested if this trait was in other TG's.

Nothing visible in the way of an Adam's Apple.

Mine is not that huge, but I suppose it depends on my body weight too, the more I loose, the more noticeable it becomes. But its the least of my concerns at the moment.

Small but pointy with a skinny neck and visibly pulsing jugular. Wobbles when I talk but disappears when I swallow. Maybe I need to swallow more often? Wait.....THAT didn't sound good!

Melissa....I believe size DOES matter here! :D

I used to have a very large one. It is now a thing of the past since I had it shaved down about 4 or 5 years ago.

I don't think I have much of a adam' apple and I'm glad.

Mine is smallish unless I look upward. I don't worry about it because they are not completely exclusive to males.

Jackie7

Barely smaller than my great blade of a nose. Doesn't matter enough to me to undergo shave-down surgery tho.

Lorileah

I don't worry about it because they are not completely exclusive to males.

I was watching a "reality" show the other night and a young woman, obviously thought of by those around her as very sexy because they wanted her to show a part of her anatomy, had the biggest Adam's apple I have seen in a long time...I thought, how many have mistaken HER for a TG (I would venture to guess zero).

We worry about too many things that we cannot control. I have a baritone voice while singing and I won't change it. Two weeks ago I was told "I think you pass very well as a woman...except when you speak". Having a deep voice you would think I would have a very noticeable Adam's apple, but it isn't unless I do something (like Eryn) to bring it out. Height, weight, shape, shoulders, all the "tells" we worry about happen in women also. Last week I saw a woman who had to be 6'8" and she was wearing heels.

OMG something on the positive side for us big girls. The fat neck helps hide the adams apple. I would rather loose the weight and wear a turtle neck LOL

You raise a very interesting question although I never gave it much thought because it is not noticeable.

Mine is not very large, but I know several gg's who have noticeable aa's. It's probably not a big deal unless we make it so.

I haven't checked. However, at six foot and 190 pounds I have other issues that I cannot cover up with a scarf. Scarf's seem to be the rage around my house; wife, daughter, granddaughter, daughter-in-law. Candice, you always look like a 'sweet girl.'

I have none that is noticeable. Like another said though my shoulders are my issue.

Now that I'm older my neck has fleshed out somewhat, so it's not that noticeable unless one is looking for it. :)

Mine was on the large side until I had it shaved several years ago ! I just wish that they could do something to reduce my size ( 6 ft 200 lbs ) and make my hands and feet smaller.

Mine is negligible at best. How ever, I've seen GG's with some pretty noticeable lumps. It's my understanding that there's a connection to the amount of iodine (found mostly in salt products) in one's diet as a child

Large very noticeable Adams apple, large hands, large feet, wide shoulders, 6'2", growing a full beard is too easy..........

Anybody wondering why I have still not posted a pic of myself:heehee:????

KaceyR
01-02-2014, 05:11 PM
Hmm. Had to relook at things.
I'd thought mine was kind of large but I guess it's not really.
And it vanishes up at times...possibly from me trying to figure out a fem voice.
(Also affecting my man-side karaoke range too unfortunately :/ )
Still, I like the light scarves for accessorizing... :)

I guess I'm quite lucky I have no visible Adam's apple. Now if i only had no visible facial hair i'd be pretty much all set. :)
