Hi All,

Planning a trip to Vegas Jan 16-20. I'll be dressed at night for sure, but I'm debating about dressing during the day.

After my 'coming out' during my last trip (see my first post here http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/showthread.php?204789-First-Time-Out) all I've been thinking about is returning to Vegas and doing it again. Since then I have come out to my friends and been more open about my dressing/desire to dress with my wife. My friends have all been incredibly supportive but my wife is struggling with it. We continue to talk about it and I don't push it too much.

I've been shopping and planning my wardrobe for this trip for months. I had a bit of a fashion show/coming out party to a handful of my female friends and they were all blown away by my style, the quality and quantity of my clothes. Daresay they were a bit jealous too :heehee: It was so amazing to hear feedback from friends whom I respect that I look fantastic when I'm dressed... I mean, we all think we look great, right? But to hear it from others in an honest, open way was life-changing (and I mean that literally).

One of my friends at the 'show' was my hairstylist, whom I have been seeing for 20+ years. I came out to her (she had no idea, but said it explains a lot about me lol) and asked her to help me with wig styling/trim it as needed... The best advice she gave me was to ditch the wig and go with my own hair, but done up in a crazy Rihanna/Mylie Cyrus messed-up look (think lots of gel and hairspray). She couldn't have been more right - I practiced a bit and went out locally one night and if I say so myself I looked like a million bucks. It comes off as an androgynous look vs pure femme, but it works, and I love it.

If anyone here will be in Vegas at the same time I would love to get together for drinks, gambling etc. :drink: I have tickets to shows on Fri and Sat nights (planning to go en femme) and also have plans for some fancy dinners. I'm staying in a suite at Aria.

I am going all out on this trip, I feel like I have been waiting my entire life to do exactly this. When I was in college I always told myself that I hoped to be successful enough to be able to buy the (women's) clothes that I always wanted, and to be able to dress in them and go out in public. I hit that point in my career a while ago, but it wasn't until I went out in public for the first time that I have really come to accept it. That is what has prompted me to come out to my friends and be more open about it to my wife.

In the mean time, I went crazy on clothes (Zappos is a wonderful friend). I bought three dresses and even brought them in to get altered - they look fantastic, if I dare say so. They weren't cheap, but like I said above, I've been waiting my entire life to do this and I am not holding back!

One of the dresses I got from Nordstrom. http://goo.gl/MtQ4sU

While paying, the clerk said "you're going to make someone very happy with that." In my new-found honesty I replied, "Actually, it's for me, I'm going to wear it out in Vegas." She looked a bit surprised but then said "you're going to look great in that!" Anyway... I could go on and on about my clothes etc but this is already long-winded.

It would be great to meet up with anyone who might be in town. I'll try to do a trip report when I'm back :)

You sure have been having a fun time.

I hope your trip to Vegas is as good as you hope it will be.

Olivia,
I would look up some of the LGBT friendly organizations in Vegas, they may be able to steer you in the right direction.
It is easy to dress in Vegas but really at night.
It is not much fun in the day time.

I'll be there the same time and will be getting a makeover from Amy at Just You on the 16th. It'll be my first time out in public other than driving around. I think it would be fun to meet up with another girl for a drink while en femme.

I dressed in Vegas during the day a few months ago. It was a blast. I went to the mall at Planet Hollywood and shopped my little heart out with my wife. I had no problems except for a few stares. I love being out in the world when it is bright! I say go for it!

Olivia, it is really unfair to come here and brag about this wonderful trip you are planning and then post a link to an exquisite dress you bought at Nordies that is only available in a SIZE 6 AND SMALLER!! :battingeyelashes:

I found this information for the Diva Las Vegas meetup. It is a how to, what not to do in Vegas. http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/guide.html

Enjoy your trip and that dress from Nordies - to die for!!

Sounds fantastic.. <envy> I just have to say what I've said before: despite everything that's weird about Vegas, I wish we had an equivalent in Europe...
Olivia - you have a great time for all of us - especially us distant sisters with no Vegas of our own.. :crying:

Well of course there are only 6 and smaller because it's on sale ... but I will confess that I do fit in a 6 :o (and I paid full price)

For sure, Katey... I'll have a glass of champagne and toast everyone. :)

Thanks Suzanne, I read your posts from your trip and it sounded like a fantastic time. At this point I think I'll only dress in the eve but who knows ... I'll pack clothes that could go either way and see how it goes.

Sarah, would love to meet up. Read some of your old posts and I think we would have great conversation. I would send you a PM but my account doesn't appear to let me, maybe because I haven't hit 10 posts yet? I'll do some short replies to see if it gets there... meantime PM me, if you can.

Meant to add in my previous reply, thanks for the geekbabe link. I've read that site before but a lot of the info there seems pretty dated; having said that it's still a good read.

I plan on being at City Center area (Aria/Mandarin Oriental/Cosmo); a show at Bally's; dinner one night at V/P and another at MGM. I'll be looking fantastic and fitting in with the crowd, so I'm not too worried. Or is that what the booze is for? lol

In the interest of getting to the 10 post mark ... here are the other dresses I bought that I am planning to wear:

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/theory-danella-wool-blend-sheath-dress/3549848?origin=category&BaseUrl=Women

I don't think I have to tell any of you but ... they are to DIE for!!! The only problem with the Danella dress is that it's really really hard to take off over your head!

Olivia - give you a chance to add another reply... and I don't want to be envious but (here goes being envious..) - the Karlyn dress is available to ship to the UK... and it costs £400!! That's probably my entire wardrobe cost... But if it looks lovely, I suppose... just do it justice with the fun you have in it and you'd better be drinking champagne! :D
Sincerely, have a great time

And one more post to hit my 10 post mark ... and to maybe make some of you jealous (I prefer to think "living vicariously" )

The shoes I'll be bringing:

http://www.zappos.com/stuart-weitzman-5050
http://www.zappos.com/calvin-klein-ariel-black
http://www.zappos.com/cole-haan-edie-high-party-pump-black-suede-gold-metallic
... and another pair of CK suede pumps I've had for a while

And for fellow hosiery lovers... :battingeyelashes:
These to go with the Danella dress:
http://www.zappos.com/wolford-robot-tights-black-black
(I got them in Cosmetic/Black)

And the Karlyn dress will get these:
http://www.zappos.com/wolford-velvet-de-luxe-66-tights-admiral

And I'm digging out some Wolford pieces and other underthings that I have owned for a long, long time but never worn.

I realize this could be construed as obscene, but like I said in my original post, I feel like I've been waiting my entire life for this moment and I'm not going to hold back - I'm going to celebrate, indulge, even... and have fun while I can.:)

PS, just found out the porn convention is in town the same weekend lol

OMG you called it, it is SO lovely! I wasn't going to get it but just had to do so. The silk is really fine, yet thick, too, and it feels amazing. I had all of those dresses altered, my hips and butt ... let's just say I don't have enough junk in the trunk!

OK Olivia, in return for making us all wardrobe and size jealous, we hereby demand that you post pictures of you in each of those outfits! (In the picture forum of course.)

I love all the items, thanks for sharing. The Robot tights are just way too chic honey. Those CK and Cole Hahn shoes are to die for and they look like they have my size in stock, hmmmmm.

Hope you do have a wonderful trip (and please do share some pics). We're all gonna be jealous but oh so happy for you!

Hugs,
Stephanie

Read the rules about multiposting and post pumping. You can't do that to get your 10.

Come on out to Vegas and get some pictures for us. Las Vegas is just naturally T friendly and you'll love it here.

Well, Olivia and I went out last night in Las Vegas and it was a great time. This was my first time out in public and it was a rush. I had an amazing makeover by Amy at Just You (glamour boutique) and met Olivia a couple of hours later at Aria. I must say I was nervous and excited but the nervousness quickly subsided and it was just two girlfriends having drinks and some great gourmet food at a nice restaurant bar. I can't wait to do it again but really need to work doing my makeup as good as Amy, which will be near impossible.

Sarah looked fantastic!!! I couldn't stop staring at her face, the makeup was so well done I was insanely jealous. Amy does great work, indeed - I might have to pay her a visit on one of my next trips.

It was really nice meeting you Sarah, a fellow CD and sharing stories. Good to know we're not alone in our shared experiences. Hope you enjoyed the food and drink!

I'm still in Vegas, nursing a smallish hangover but the real pain is my feet - holy cow, heels hurt! Lots of walking in Vegas and I'm too cheap to take cabs.

Quick recap since I don't know if or when I'll have time for a full report when I am back:

Friday night I went to a show at Bally's and then had dinner at the bar at Bouchon in the Venitian - and started the night with a glass of pink champagne to toast all of you who couldn't be here with me. :) After that I walked to Cosmo and gambled a bit till calling it a night.

Last night I had dinner at L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon in MGM, it was fantastic. Very large bar that looks into the kitchen and friendly patrons. Walked down to Cosmo after that and took in the scene - wow, it's a freak show. I tell you, I looked better that a LOT of the girls walking around that place! I gambled a bit, had a few drinks, walked to Aria to change shoes ... then out again to Cosmo for another drink ... and then ended up calling it a night.

I haven't encountered a single nasty look or comment while dressed. Some wide eyes and open mouths - I was rocking it last night. :) Closest nastiness has been a cat-call or two from some porn slappers as I walked by on the strip, confirming my belief that this is the place to be, out dressed. I strike up conversations exactly the same as if I weren't dressed and am having a normal trip.

Sounds great, Olivia. You are so right about Vegas and as soon as I get better with doing my own makeup I'll plan
a trip that is all girl! I'm headed out early tomorrow morning but not without one last visit to the 9 Fine Irishmen pub to hear their phenomenal band.

Hi Everyone, bit of a delay (better late than never?) but here is a trip report I did for another board. I didn't get into the CD details, but if anyone here has questions about my trip or Vegas feel free to ask!
