Curious as to others' experiences as I relate to HRT and re-growth of a receding hairline. I don't have a bald spot on top, but definitely receding in front. What should my expectations be? Will HRT take care of or would I new to explore other options?

I wouldn't hold my breath, you might get a little regrowth but probably not much. Once the hair follicle is dead it ain't comin back! If the recession is not too bad it could be fixed with a procedure called a scalp advancement. This is often done during FFS.

Small regrowth, but not much else. The texture of my hair has changed overall and it is fuller all over. The hairline, not so much.

The recurring theme I find on this forum is to not expect much from HRT, especially after puberty.

You mean as it relates to hair, or in general?

I would say in general. Some outcomes are surprising, but they are the exception proving the rule.

My hair became much thicker. My stylist is jealous. As for hairline, I'm lucky that mine had only started to recede. It's definately not getting worse, but not getting any better.
As for HRT not doing much after puberty. WRONG. I'm astounded the huge changes it's made. I'm saner, happier, have boobs, my body hair only grows in female patterns now, I have better skin, everybody tells me I look younger and on, and on. HRT has had so many positive effects I can say it changed, and very possibly, saved, my life.

I have about 40% regrowth but it's still too thin on top and the hairline itself has not changed. That wasn't just HRT, though, it was also a year and a half of Minoxidil. Body: chest hair is gone (I didn't have much), arm hair is very thin, fine, and feminine, tummy and legs, no real change.

I am not sure of hair on the top being effected by HRT. However at 55 I am getting really good results overall. Yes on the right regimen HRT can be very effective. Still the effect of HRT may slow down hair loss but do not hold your breath on it bringing it back, unless you use a DHT blocker and minoxydil, then maybe.

I just had my hairline pulled forward last week so we will see how that does over time. It is straight now anyway.

As Aprilrain said, don't expect much regrowth of your hair. As for the rest of the effects of HRT on the body post puberty, its a crap shoot. It has a lot to do with genetics and luck of the draw as to how much you will benifit from HRT.

My hairline stopped receding. Today I have more hair than my younger brother.

If you are still around, than I could suggest a combination of Inositol and Choline for longer hair and the preexistence of it. However if you take this route, you will be taking the more longer yet natural way around, which is a big chore for your overall health for them to work effectively.

Choline needs Inositol (critical cell growth and function) for that biochemical to stimulate the nerve messages that helps promote hair growth. Normally, these two are usually at the back of multi-vitamins and in foods, but they don't give you nearly enough mgs in your diet (10 to 30mgs). Inositol alone at the GNC store is 500 mg and Choline is 250 mg. That is the range to where it should be.

This is something that I would recommend more for women. Male baldness recover is more complicated, so it can take even longer to recover from. It doesn't hurt to try it, since it's around 7 to 8 dollars each, with 100 capsules. I would suggest the most natural foods as possible generally, due to the GMOs/preservatives that you find in 90% of the food in stores (farm stores are better). That corrupts health and can decline your hair.

I also recommend Nutri-ox shampoo, because of something close to chemical free. I've heard good reviews about it and tried it months ago. It helps for me at least.

Honestly, those companies know the secret to cure hair loss, but if that were to be released from the public, then they wouldn't make a very good profit from it. As a result, you're stuck with treatments.

In my research on T blockers, I came across some info that said DHT blockers/inhibitors may help Finasteride blocks 1 type of DHT, Dutasteride blocks 2 types, but is supposedly expensive.
I'm not a doctor and don't play one on TV - do your own research and talk to your physician.

A testimonial and a conspiracy… What more could you ask for?
