View Full Version : I can't believe what my wife just did! And it's great.

As I've mentioned numerous times before, my wife does not accept my CDing, and we're in a DADT relationship. All the more surprising for what she did tonight.

We were in the process of cleaning out the basement storage area and my wife came up to me and said, "I can't believe I'm doing this, but these would be good to store jewelry in", and she hands me a couple of those divided plastic boxes for storing crafts, or screws or jewelry. I don't think she even knows that I have any jewelry (which of course I do), she's just making an assumption since she knows that I go to a GNO once or twice a month.

I don't know what the official rule is, but I'm going to count this as the first thing my wife got for Steffi. And since my birthday is next week, I'm going to assume that these were an early birthday present.

Nice Steffi. Little things count. I am happy for you - actually for both of you. By the way - an early Happy Birthday.

Did you tell her that you appreciated the act? That was a big move on her part.

Hi Steffi,

I would take that as a gift for both you and Steffi. What a great moment that must have been. Hopefully there will be more.

Quite possibly it may be for storage of the present that will sit next to your cake, Happy Birthday.

That's great, Steffi. Happy for you!

As others have said, don't assume she knows you appreciate this gesture. Tell her so.

All the best,

Traci

Also Happy Birthday. Her action shows that your relationship is strong and though it may be DADT, she still accepts.

Happy birthday Steffi, make sure your wife knows you appreciate the gift. I am one of the lucky one that my wife knows and accepts what I do. It makes all the difference in the world to have some one you can talk openly to about what's going on in your life. have a great day.

Wonderful support! My SO just found out... so I wonder how long it take for real support to develop.

That's really nice. I remember my unaccepting wife gave me some old lipstick she never used anymore. I almost cried. Okay, I did. The little things matter.

Happy birthday.

That was very nice of her. The longest journey starts with that first step. Perhaps its time for some flowers?

What a great gesture. I'll keep my fingers crossed that this is the beginning of a softening of her stance on CDing. Who knows, maybe she'll be coming to Keystone with you in a few years time? ;-)

Awesome! Congratulations I'm jealous. Any specifics on what you did?

I did tell her how much I appreciated it this morning. I was too shocked for words last night.

She said, "Don't read too much into it. It doesn't change anything. But I do think I'm starting to come to grips with the reality of it."

OK. So it's not climate change or global warming. But the temperature has to get warmer before global warming can occur. I'm now a believer in global warming.

Thanks, Jamie. Her coming to Keystone with me would be the ultimate of amazing. Bu no one said global warming was going to happen in my lifetime. but I can hope can't I?

Jessica -- I'll answer your question in more detail later, but basically, going slow, a good therapist, and continuing to go out en femme, with her knowledge. Keystone 2012 was the first time I was out en femme with her knowledge, not just when she or I was out of town.
