I must say, the small amount of time i have perused this wonderful forum has been peppered with serious instances in which the notion of perversion has been thrown around quite frequently.

Is there, perhaps, an unconscious facet to this wonderful world of cross dressing? in which we grasp for validation yet judge those who may be

gay?

horny?

into porn?

promiscuous?

"just a tourist"?

Some here use it when making a humorous comment, normally referring to how someone else may perceive them. Don't worry, just ignore what you do not like. You will last a lot longer here and enjoy the site better.

Sorry to say this Taylor, Wheres the beef ? (you have to picture me dressed up as an old lady and I am only 4ft tall.
I was hopping for some links.....:heehee:

I like porn (if I happen upon it I will look but I do not waste my time searching for it), I am sometimes horny and could be considered a tourist if that is a bad thing. Promiscuous, no, Gay, no but I do not hold any opinions to those who are. Am I concerned what others may thing of me, absolutely not. Pervert, all depends on who is passing judgment.

Well there is a % of the population that believes that ALL cross dressers are perverts. So I guess you can draw your own conclusions on that.

Based on the thread title, I was compelled to click on the link. Does that make me a bad person? :)

The facet is the human condition. Each to his / her own. I just don't want it rammed down my throat. Oops, add innuendo to the list :heehee:

It depends what country you are or what religion. the dictionary definition of pervert is "a person whose sexual behavior is considered unnatural and morally wrong" In Russia and Iran we are perverts. In the U.S. and Great Britain, we are mostly considered unusual! Of course, segments of the populations of all countries will always consider us perverts. I personally don't consider what I do as a perversion. No one is harmed by my crossdressing - except maybe someone who is close to me that is emotionally hurt by the knowledge of what I do. That's as much their fault for being unable to accept someone who is different as it is mine for being me.

I think there are many un- or subconscious facets to the mosaic of motives and feelings that drive what we do and how we ultimately express ourselves. But...

I have to say I don't believe I've come across any overt instances where any individual or group has been subject to very judgmental comments - aside perhaps from the term 'lurker' which has a shady, pejorative edge to it (and possibly justifiably, in some cases...?).

For myself, I think since being exposed to how varied aspects of CDers think and feel about what we do, I have probably become more tolerant than I have been previously of those 'aspects' of our passion. Aren't we also to some extent obligated to air what we feel personally if the forum is to work as an active discussion platform?

Long may debate and constructive dissent continue... and we've got some mega mods who are prepared to swing the stick when necessary, too :D

And I was just coming to terms with myself as a pervert. How am I gonna deal with this whole crossdressing thing? :o

How can we judge anyone on the above question since those can apply to an amazing amount of people.

I would say we are more likely to be understanding as we realise everyone is different.

I absolutely couldn't care less whether someone is any or all of the above. Consciously or otherwise. If some here are extremely judgmental about it (don't see much of it here although there may be some) I see that as more their problem, and I move on. I have enough on my own plate. I think overall most here are a pretty tolerant and accepting bunch. Most of us have at least learned that!
What concerns me most is what kind of person you are, your values, are you empathetic, do you try to avoid hurting others, avoid using others or truly abusing others? That is where my concerns are about people. What people do alone or between consenting adults is not something I am bothered by at all.

Well said, Katey. I have gotten so much from this forum, often when people are sharing a different perspective on a topic. I often sense a subconscious subtext that bubbles up around issues involving the question "what type of cross dresser are you". Perhaps in attempting to understand ourselves we unknowingly judge others who "do it differently".

That being said, I am going to search for that link everyone keeps mentioning. I know its around here somewhere. I'll be sure to post it when I find it.
