I got my ears pierced tonight. I went to the local mall with my son who waited impatiently for me to have it done so we could then go downstairs to the LEGO store. 9 yr olds have their priorities correct!

All of my ID and credit cards are still total dude and the young woman helping me asked for my ID to do the paperwork for the piercings. I pulled out my driver's license and handed it to her chuckling that this doesn't much look like me now. She looked at it then handed it back saying that she needed to see my ID, not someone else's. I said this is my ID for the time being, while I await my new one. She looked at it again, then looked at me, then stepped back a little to look me up and down. I just smiled at her (I am pretty much impossible to embarrass nowadays). She smiled back and said Ohh, Wow, Congratulations. I replied thanks, I appreciate you saying that.

My CZ studs look fab BTW :^)

I got mine done at the mall a couple of weeks ago. All they wanted to see from me was money.

It was less than a week after my surgery and there were stitches still all over my head and face....they didn't seem to care.

I had mine done years ago when i was a teenager at a body piercing shop. All they wanted was proof I was 18 and money of course I looked like my male ID back then : (

I had mine done about 6 months ago. 2nd time around. I had them done about 15 years ago but they never healed properly and closed up. I took them out too soon. I've left THESE in since I've had them pierced. Healed!

Congratulations, it's a nice, small thing to do for yourself.

Why is it that we go and get holes put in our head when everyone else thinks we have one big hole already? :)

Congratulations, now you can have fun wearing cute earings.

How exciting! I got mine done the day I went full time, 4 months ago. Work wouldn't allow it before then. I also had to show my male ID. The girl looked at it and just asked what name I wanted on their form.
It's another step in the right direction :)

I'm very excited to finally meet you on Saturday :)

Thanks girls!

Kaitlyn, yes I was really over the moon. :-)

The ears were a precursor to another big step today . This morning I filed my paperwork at the County for my legal name and gender change. The woman helping me was super nice. When she looked at my drivers license she smiled and said holy s**t, then teased me about making my signature more girly. She said that my court date will be around the 3rd or 4th week of March. Woohoo! Check another one off!

Steph - we will definitely celebrate with a drink or two in SF on Sat night! ;-)
