My spouse is looking for a vocal coach and we have come up empty in a search of our area. Her natural range is close to a baritone and all her attempts on her own she said hurt? I really know nothing about how to develop a femme voice apparently my major in vocal music does not apply lol and I dont think teach her to sing will help. Anyways, we are stumped. Help please?

Google Kathe Perez. She has some great online programs.

The college in my town has trans support and offers voice lessons. They also included some other tips about presentation. You might see if your local state/community college has a LGBT community...the language department may have something.

By the way, your training in vocal music may help...for me, knowing middle C helps me.

There is a video on genderlife.com about voice tutoring that just may point you both in the right direction.

I went to Kathe perez's site and when I try to go into the transgender section my computer backs it and says the page contains malware. I will also check out genderlife

Just an observation here... Voice is one of my biggest challenges (as evidenced by my dreaded cold-call telephone test to a store or business). I find that my enthusiasm for my voice work, and the results I obtain, are directly related to my mental and physical condition, and if I'm well-rested, been eating properly, and am with those I love (confidence), keeping my voice where it belongs is much easier! Lots could be said about this, so it will suffice to say for me that a sweet voice is as much mental as it is physical.

Good luck, and practice, practice, and practice some more!
