This weekend I spent a wonderful time with my ex brother in law and his family. I got to be myself and wear what I wanted! Yesterday, we all went to the mall and his wife and I were on a mission to find me some cute new shoes. First place? Payless of course! While there, this woman and what appeared to be her husband walked down the aisle and were looking at shoes. The SA comes up to them and he starts to look nervous. She asks if she can help them find anything. He says he's looking for a pair of shoes and that he is a size 14. The wife says that they are looking for some heels! I'm of course inconspicuously observing and the SA looks for a bit and grabs a pair and says "these would look great on you!" I noticed him glance at me like he was afraid of what I would think. I made a split second eye contact with him and without batting an eyelash, grabbed a cute pair of heels in my size, slipped then on and started walking in them to try them out. (I wasn't shopping for heels. I was in the market for flats but thought he could use a confidence builder.) I was partially en femme wearing full makeup, women's jeans, cute girly tshirt, and cardigan... no wig. After walking in the heels, I took them off and told my ex bros wife that I just wanted to see how they looked and continued shopping for the flats. After that, I had my back to the couple so I never saw his reaction, but he started talking more freely to the SA. Us gals have to stick together! Hopefully it was enough of a confidence builder to let him know he's not alone and that there are plenty of us out there.

Oh, and I did find some super cute black flats that are soooo comfy that I just can't stop wearing them! I found some cute sunglasses while I was there too! All in all, i had a fantastic time!

Eva - that was a great thing to be able to do for someone - very generous and sweet of you... :bighug:

I hear so much about Payless here, you'd think their procurement folk have an understanding of who's buying very large 'ladies' sizes? Any business worth it's salt would just see us CD/TS folk as another specialised market worth tapping into...

(BTW - Payless here in the UK used to be a DIY/hardware chain - it always makes me chuckle when I hear about our US cousins shopping for shoes... what, steel-toes workboots? :heehee:)

Eva - you deserve some sort of award - I'm giving you my special Katey kiss for this.. :) Katey x

Never seen a 14 in payless. 13w, yes and even the are getting smaller. Nice gesture on your part though. I used to work downtown just curious what part of the city where you in?

Eva. Great story. Thanks so much for sharing.

I always feel having a great time and a bad time Are so closely related when we are new

And yes we have to stick together girl.

If not, then who the heck is going to care that there are 14's and if Katey changes her hair style without telling people. Little vixin

You look cute as a button

Eva good on you that was a really cool thing to do.
IMHO, Im not sure that Payless (owners) would be too keen to be branded the shop to go to for crossdressers shoes. In all liklihood they would be more concerned about loosing custom than gaining it. We are a small minority of the shoe buying public.
I find the SA's are happy to make the sales though. But I only have size 9 feet so ghey are easy to come by.

We were up in the Mall of GA. Since that area has a lot of TG/TS (from what I heard from a Payless SA down in my area), they cater to those and are apparently well acclimated to that form of clientele. Its definitely refreshing to see!
