Hi all:

Was just curious to hear about whether any of you had the opportunity to dress fully as girls when you were a child.

For me, I would dress in secret and the earliest memory was when I was four. But I know some of you dressed with your mothers' and sisters' approval. :)

I didn't...the clothes weren't available.

But that doesn't mean I didn't want to. When I was little, girls
wore dresses...(required...maybe by law!) They were so pretty
and girls were so sweet and nice...vs boys who always wanted
to push & shove.

If I'd had a chance...it would have been a natural and easy choice.

I was fortunate in that at the age of four, my best friend across the street had an older sister with lots of pretty dresses. He and I loved to wear her panties, slips, dresses, cute shoes, and play with her dolls. When she got home from school, we all played together. His sister didn't wear a bra yet, so we didn't either... at that time, I didn't even know what a bra was! :heehee:

The girls next door always needed another girl for afternoon tea.
I was five when I was invited and everyone thought it was cute.
It was sure more than cute for me. :)

Not for me...

Closest I came was secretly trying on girls hats at school...

That sounds just so unexciting - I feel I need to spice that up somehow...

I tried to make my own clothes. When I was two-and-a-half I jammed my foot into an old coffee percolator (it was not hot at the time) to create a high heel. The attempts to free my foot caused quite a panic and I think that's when I figured out that my crossdresssing was going to have to be in secret.

I continued attempts to make fantasy clothing out of whatever was available, I found clothes (seriously, I once found a bra on the street and it was my size! I considered it a gift from God!), and to "borrow" clothes from the clothes hamper.

It wasn't until I was a teen of around 18 that I got up enough courage to buy my first skirt, shaking like a leaf and trying to convince the clerk that it was a gift for someone.

Hugs,
Persephone.

I played a woman in a schoolplay, somewhere around the age of 9 or 10 if I recall correctly. It was a 'comedic' role, a posh and vain lady, and none of the girls in my class wanted it, so I volunteered. Probably made it even funnier in the process.

I also did the whole 'switch clothes and laugh at each other in the mirror' thing with the girl next door at a younger age, I think we were five years old or something.

I don't know how much of this ties in with my cross-dressing habit though.

Was just curious to hear about whether any of you had the opportunity to dress fully as girls when you were a child.

1st time completely was at 6 when playing a joke on my other sisters with the help of an older sister. Our idea together.
Wore the same exact outfit a year later for Halloween at school. My idea.
Wore another older sister's cheerleader uniform at 11 for Halloween at school. Her idea but she did not know that I already knew that her uniform fit me.
A number of dressup games between then -- Barbies, House, Teacher, Fashion Show.
And an even more number of times that I dressed completely away from my sisters.
Opportunities presented themselves and some were created by me.

My mom did dress me up for a last minute invite to
a halloween party some new neighborhood kids were
having. I was about 12. I certainly didn't protest and
I still think she sorta guessed i Loved it.

I actually won the best costume...even though I wasn't
really thinking of it as a "costume". Maybe the professional
makeup job had something to do with it.

One of the girls there fell in love with me. My mom picked me
up right when that was getting interesting...she had to work.

The girl didn't want anything to do with me a few days later
when i saw her again. i wasn't the same person that she'd met,
not being dressed up....:P

I had three older sisters, the youngest being 5 years older than myself. I have always known that I was female, or at least in mind, I was dressed a boy as my dad would never have had it any other way. I do faintly remember a time (I must have been around 5 or so) when my sisters and I played dress up and I got to wear a hand me down dress, that I believe they all had to wear at one time or another. It was a polyester girls pullover dress for a young girl without breasts, I remember it came down just below my knees and it was brownish in color with some kind of design on it. The skirt of the dress flared just a little. I remember enjoying the feel of it. I do know that ever after that I always wished I was a real girl and could wear dresses. I do remember after I was old enough to stay home by myself that I would get into my sisters things and put on her dresses. I used to go with my youngest sister to Pennys and she would look through all the dresses and would try them on while I had to sit there and wait. I wanted so bad to be able to try on some dresses also.

I usually just "borrowed" my moms undergarments, but around the age of 11 I toke an old pair of cut of blue jean shorts and reworked them into a skirt. I did all the stitching by hand by flash light at night after everyone had gone to sleep. I enjoyed my new skirt for less than a month, before my mom found it. She was not happy and threatened to tell my dad!
I suppressed my dressing for quit a while after that.

my grandmother had quite the closet of extra clothing in her basement she had 3 daughters...and my mothers beauty school wigs on those maniquin heads were in there too...it was such a big closet it was the perfect hide and seek spot...not to mention a few easter baskets were hidden in there over the years too...i had fun in that closet as a child...you could go down in the basement and get lost in there for hours. I just stayed away from the 70's pant suits.

I dressed fully when I was around 9. However, I didn't dress as a girl, but more as a young woman, since the clothes were my mother's old castoffs.

I didn't fully dress as a girl until I got into my teens. I wore a girl dress once when I was 8 or 9 I guess, maybe less than that, but it was an odd event. In my early teens, I was able to fit in my mom's stuff. Before that, I only used her undies.

Not that I can remember. My mother said she dressed one of us one time but was not sure if it was me or my younger brother. I began pretty late but wearing heels, I would say in my late teens. Use to use my mothers pumps then things went dormant until I hit my thirties.

I should have been so lucky as to have been dressed as a child by anyone. I started when I was 12 almost 13 and I was never caught.

I went to day camp. One year they did Oklahoma! and all the boys who didn't have other parts were in the chorus who dressed as girls and sang "I Caint Say No"

"I'm jist a girl who cain't say no,
I'm in a turrible fix
I always say "come on, le's go"

Well, I don't know about the others, but it had quite an impression on me at age 8 or 9. I LOVED it. After that I was in my mother's clothes and makeup. Now I have my own.

As kids we spent part of our summers visiting with our cousins. This gave our parents a break from the kids. All the cousins my age were girls. Ever since I can remember I liked playing dress up with my female cousins. There was always an abundance of female clothing and sometimes I would spend an entire week in dresses. One aunt said my male under wear did not go with the dresses so she gave a set of panties of the week. I don't know how many here remember them but if I remember correctly they were the big rite of passage to the young girls back in the 50s. I thought I was in heaven when I put them on. I was so pisseed when my parents would not let me keep them at the end of the week.
The following year when I stayed with this cousin I asked my aunt if I could wear a dress during my stay. My cousin and aunt both agreed to it. I was disappointed when they did not have a dress that really fitted me. The next day my aunt went shopping and when she returned she said she had presents for us. When I opened my bag I saw a beautiful frilly dress. Oh wow was I excited. I immediately went to put it on but my aunt said there was more in the bag. I looked and in the bag were panties, stockings, garter belt and a bra. I will never forget the feeling of my aunt dressing me and the feeling I had when she slid the stockings up my legs and attached them to the garter straps. She had also bought my cousin the same under things but hers were in white and mine was black. I had a very wonderful week of not only dressing but having the aunt show me and my cousin how to wear makeup and we even went to bed with curlers in our hair. My aunt passed away a few years back and my cousin lives many miles away and we only see each other at family funerals or weddings. She is one of the few people who know about my cross dressing and we laugh at family gatherings wondering if any of the other male family members are wearing garter belt and stockings under their suits. Just for a bit of info I never knew my aunt's husband. He died when my cousin and I were too young to remember. My aunt never remarried but according to my cousin she had some very interesting boy friends over the years, but that is another story.

I started dressing when I was 5. My mom helped me put together a Wonder Woman costume when I must have been about 7. Didn't grow up to be like Lynda Carter, but am definitely an Amazon...

At age 4, my 9-year old sister got a pretty, red petticoat. Everyone told her how pretty it was, and how pretty she was in it. I was SO jealous! So I cried until they would let me wear it, and I wore it a lot. I still remember how wonderful it felt to wear it. In a few years, I would borrow my sisters' bras and panties and wear them secretly. By 12, I was big enough to wear my mother's girdle and hose. I never fully dressed until I got a place of my own.

I was lucky to have an open minded mother that helped me from age six..She never shared any of it with my narrow minded father or my only sibling,a sister 4 years older...and a great source of clothes that Mom let me play in..

My earliest memory is maybe around 7 or 8. I had a sister who was 10 years older and it was the late 60's early 70's. She had some wonderful things. I remember "hot pants" and "go-go" boots and a couple "shag" wigs. They were all in style then. Might be part of why I LOVE heels. My first trip out was in College. A girlfriend kind of knew and I borrowed stuff from her. I was way over dressed for a trip to the mall. One of my fondest memories was going to a costume party in college as Miss Piggy, Renaissance style dress, lots of cleavage, heels, nails and a long blonde wig. The rest of life is so similar to so many others...

There were 3 girls across the street who dressed me up when I was maybe 7 or 8. I loved it Their mother discovered us and made me go home. After that I used to put on my NaNas sexy bikini when she wasn't home. I remember playing a witch in the 5th grade play and acting like I didn't like it. My junior year in high school I was a cheerleader at the powder puff football game. Again I acted like I didnt like it when I was so happy inside. Finally I dressed up one Halloween several years ago. Now I go out almost every week! It was a long journey!

I didn't know that all little kids didn't wear dresses and have their hair braided in pigtails until I went to the first grade. I couldn't figure out how come I had to dress up like a boy to go to school. Talk about a life changing experience. Didn't get to wear a dress much after that until I was 12 and got to spend the summer as a girl, but that is another story in itself.

I didn't have access to outer clothes that fit me remotely well until I was in my teen years. But my mom used to put lipstick and nail polish on me back when I was as small as three or so, and by the time I was 12, I was wearing heels regularly and had my ears pierced. I would wear all this (occasionally, not all the time) to go shopping with Mom and to visit her friends, but I was always in boy mode at school and among my peers.

As a young boy I had no inclination of wearing feminine clothing. I had no sisters or female cousins. The only girl I associated with played center field on our team. She was a terrible baseball player. A girl way ahead of the times. She wore jeans and a tee shirt just like the guys. She had a great throwing arm. I never thought she should be in a dress like all the other girls of the 1950's and early 1960's. I bet she went on to be a real sexy and successful woman because she had confidence in herself.

Me? The only time I can remember ever wearing some feminine was in response to my mother saying once too many times that I was supposed to be a girl since my brother was born earlier. She wanted the perfect family; one boy and one girl. I cried and put on her nightgown and said she did not love me because I was not a girl. She reassured that she loved me and I think she never made those comments after that. I also recall being in kindergarten and the teacher saying she liked my cowboy shirt. She called it a blouse which really upset me.

I may have around ten when I discovered I liked the feel of nylon, specifically her nylon slips.

earliest recollections were when I was 4 or 5. I don't know if it was the nasty cold snap or dirty laundry or what but I remember wearing my sisters long white flannel long sleeved high neck gown to bed for a period. Don't remember the whys or for how long, but I do remember seeing a Christmas morning film when my sis and I walk into the living room to see what "Santa" brought us. She was in her Barbie gown and I in the whilte flannel gown. Film is about 2 seconds long then suddenly I'm in a long blue robe...but every now and then you can see the gown pop out from under the robe and towards the end of the footage the collar is out. I've seen many a photo and film of sis and I in the backyard playing and I'm either in her old playsuits, her old shorts sets or other 'hand-me-downs'.

My next memory was when I was 10 and spent 3 weeks at my Aunts while my parents went on a extended anniverary trip. Very long story short - They went to New York and Canada for about a week and I stayed with my Aunt and 3 girl cousins. They (parents) were doing the trip with friends so they dropped me at my Aunts on that morning and it was that night that it was realized my suitcase was either still at home or still in the trunk. So, I wore my cousins clothes for 3 weeks. Mostly her shorts and tops to start with, but also her bikini's and towards the end her dresses etc as well (I didn't want to be left out when they dressed up for church or went out for dinner!).
Well, when Mom/Dad got home, my Aunt convinced them that I could say a while longer (especially since her house was over an hour from home) so I ended up there 3 weeks. When Mom came to pick me up finally she had a cow when she saw me. At first, she couldn't tell me from the rest of the girls playing in the yard. I had on a pink shorts set, my hair was in pig-tails and my fingernails were also painted pink. She made me change back into the clothes I had on when I got there before we left and took out the pig-tails (which still left my hair pretty wavy for a few days after), but she didn't take off the fingernail polish till that night before going to bed. That was when she saw the training bra and panties I had on as well. When she took those off me was when she saw the 3 weeks worth of bikini tan lines that were well set into my skin. I didn't get to see my Aunt again for several years after until when my GrandDad died. I have written a story about that and its on Big Closet.
A Halloween between the above events I pestered my Mom to the point she let me go trick-r-treating as a girl wearing one of my sisters mini-dresses. It was a maroon velvet number with a high mock turtleneck top and long sleeves - and it was VERY short. Had a matching panty cover short. She did my makeup and I painted my nails and for shoes wore a pair of calf-high boots. Got back from T-r-T and was to go to a friends party but Mom said she couldn't find anything to take my makeup off with so I'd just have to go as I was. THAT was fun! Got a few comments about my "costume" but after a while I was accepted just like any other person. Even more fun was the parents that didn't know me treated me just like one of the girls, as did the girls after several hours. When I got home that night (late) Mom magically found her makeup remover but it was a couple of days later that she "found" her polish remover. I think she was trying to embarrass me but it didn't work.

Thats just a few of the times...

I started about 3-4 years of age. Right when we moved into a new house. Then I don't have any recollections of doing it again until I was 10. But the funny part is I was not dressing in anything age appropriate but in full grown women's clothing, my mom's.
In that respect, I was wearing pantyhose probably long before most real girls even slip into a pair. Even though most had probably worn tights by that time. Every now and then I'd try to squeeze into my little sister's leotards, which became my favorite article of choice.
Looking back I am very creeped out by it. That is one thing I'd change if I did it over, I'd be more pro-active about obtaining my own stuff.

The first time I dressed up as a girl was when I was 10. Every weekend I would go to my Aunt's house and play with my cousin who was five years older than me. I had noticed that she had started wearing tights, I was so envious of her. I begged her to dress me up fully as a girl in her dress tights and makeup. She would not let me wear her tights but she did give me one of her dresses to wear and she made me up. She had her girlfriend with her as well who also assisted with the makeup, I felt so girly. I didn't dress up again until two years later when I was twelve. I was wanted so much to be a girl. It was frustrating seeing all the girls in my high school class wearing tights. At the time in 1972, girls of my age wore tights underneath their school socks, it seems like a curious fashion now but I so wanted to be a girl just like them and wear knee high socks with tights. One day in late 1972, I plucked up the courage to go routing around my Mother's tights drawer. I pulled out a pair and tried them on, I was surprised to see how well they fitted me. Only problem was I didn't know if any of my Mum's skirts would fit me so I wore my football shorts as hot pants. A few weeks later I wore another pair of tights along with one of my Mums skirts which actually fitted me. I was in heaven. Thereafter I would dress up as much as I could each weekend when my parents were out for the evening. My dressing sessions were a little bit short probably a mixture of guilt and fear of being caught. My frustrations of envying the girls in my class continued. I was teased by the other boys in my class because I was hopeless at sport and was gentle and sensitive. The boys used to call me girl, I pretended to be annoyed but secretly I liked it because I had quite a few crushes on some of the boys in my school. At that time I had an almighty crush on Donny Osmond. I use to listen to his records at home and would swoon at his pictures. One of the boys who teased me said that I probably fancied Donny. I had told anyone about my crushes on boys but I again I was secretly pleased when this lad teased me about him. I continued to dress up at home throughout my teens and into my twenties. When I was twenty one I finally plucked up the courage to buy my own tights, I was a little embarrassed at first. Ever since then I have been buying my own clothes, I have purged many times. However a few years back I accepted my dressing and have not purged for three years. I am slowly re-building my wardrobe. As for tights/pantyhose I have drawers full of them. I love them so much. Sorry to relate such a long story but I have had fun telling it.

One of my older sisters used to dress me up as a girl when I was around four, I don't remember it but do remember sneaking into their bedroom when I was six and taking their stockings. I wasn't left by myself until I was in my teens and when I was left I had about four hours every Thursday to indulge in cross-dressing in my sisters bedroom. One of my sisters moved out but the other one is the one that used to dressed me up and her clothes were the one I would use to dress as a woman. Our parents would take trips and leave us at home when that happen I would take the liberty of get my sisters matching bra, panty and full slip wearing them along with some pantyhose and some of her perfume. I would also use her makeup but when question about it I would deny it. This went on for a few years until I couldn't stand it anymore and had to tell her about it. The sh*t hit the fan so to speak and she banned me from going in there and if I did she would tell our parents what I was doing. She eventually moved out also and I found a employment where I was making a little money and buying some feminine attire while living at home. Our parents would still go on vacation I would call in sick a day or two and dress as a woman, my sister would come by to check on me and one evening she found me dressed as a woman. She started to leave but changed her mind and came back to see if I wanted to talk I did but when I said we could have a woman to woman talk she got mad and said we can never have a woman to woman talk and I said a woman to whatever then. That is when I found out that she had dressed me as a girl when I was four.

I found out that I liked the way nylons and panties felt when I tried on my moms stuff when i was about 5 yrs old. I didn't have alot of time to myself I had two older brothers and no sisters. I would sneak into my mom's room and raid her panty draw and run to the bathroom and try them on for awhile. As I got older I would take some pantyhose and wear them under my pants. Not till my brothers were older and out of the house with their friends and my parents went to the store did I try on my mom's dresses and skirts. During my teens 14 to 18 I had the house to myself alot and would try on everything that would fit me. Sometimes I would sleep in a night gown. I finally got some guts to buy some underthings for my self in my late teens. Then it just progress from there I bought shoes and everything else.

I got a very late start. I had no sisters and one brother. I was attracted to girls, not boys. My first glimpse of Laura was when I was a young teen riding my bike in cold weather with my hood up and a man on the sidewalk gave me a wolf whistle. It was a thrill but I didn't quite understand why until I was in my 20s, very lonely, needing a girlfriend. I discovered I could be one.

I got started kinda late, at age 12, trying on my mothers nurses outfit (sure do wish I could find one of those on ebay),
her two inch pumps and her satin front long leg panty girdle..Try as I might (or might not) I cant get that image out of
my mind. Thrillingly, intrigue, adventure and suspense. I just don't understand why every man alive don't at least
try crossdressing once in a while..

love you, dana

Not until I was in my early teens. Most favourite outfit was a cream long sleeve angora mix sweater with a tan coloured box pleat mini skirt, and white heeled sandals. Remember it so clearly.
But definitely not with any approval, most secret!

I have pics of my mom dressing me up afew times when I was really young. My sister dressed me up when I was about 6, then I had a girlfriend in high school who helped me experiment with her clothes. One day I went to get house while her mom was at work and she did the whole nine yards. I had longish hair and she even styled it a bit.

I remember playing "dress up" with my female cousin back around age 5-6 if I recall correctly. She used to love dressing me up in her leotards and tights like we were both ballerinas. She told her mom that I enjoyed wearing her tights and leotards and her mom said its ok since male ballet dancers wear tightstoo, so one day her mom bought me my very own tights.

I remember the first time I tried on my moms pantyhose. I was in kindergarten and soon after that I started wearing pantyhose to School underneath my jeans. At about eight I tried on my mom's bra for the first time and kept going from there. By the time I was 13 in the summer when my parents both worked my brother was outside or gone I would dress the entire day and every summer after that up until I graduated high school I spent almost every day dressed.

I don't remember the whys or hows, but I remember wearing my cousin's nightgown while staying with her. One of those flannel things with the ruffled collar. Of course my mom had a fit. I think I was maybe 4 or 5?

When I was 14 I tried on my mom's clothes, but her "fashion" taste was , frumpy? boring? Stolen from an elementary school teacher? That game lost it's appeal quickly.
But my grandma was a seamstress and used to make Bridesmaid and prom dresses, and I loved trying those on! OMG they were wonderful.
And that's the first time in my whole life I've ever admitted that to anyone.

It was the Summer of my ninth year when I was picked to be a little girl in a Scout play, because I "was the smallest and had the longest curly hair". Mother refused to have my hair cut, and was elated as she went "all out" to teach/dress me to be a girl in real little girl clothes - from silky undies to poofy lacy party dresses to MJ's and hair ribbons! Everyday for two weeks I wore girl clothes as she did my hair, polished my nails, and showed my how to add light makeup & perfume so I would think of myself as a very convincing little girl. I was embarrassed and humiliated when Mother proudly showed me off to everyone as her "new little girl".

I remember being in the Cub Scouts around 9 or 10 years old. For some reason the Cub Pack was putting on a history show and our den was to present how female clothing looked thru the history of America. Go figure? I ended up having to dress as a girl from the days of the pilgrims. Blah! I remember my older sister putting a bra on me which I pretended to hate. I also remember being so jealous of a friend who got to wear a wedding dress and had to have his hair in curlers the night and the day before the show. Why the hell couldn't that pretty girl be me?

I first dressed as a ballerina when I was around 5. Then I always loved satin things and girly stuff whenever I saw it. In junior high and high school... it when the fire lit and that side of me told me that I was more than one person.

Remember that moment when I first wore that ballerina outfit like it was yesterday. it was such a special feeling.

Not dress fully just in my sisters panties and bra. But I was always generally treated like a girl when I was really young...and throughout my life actually. So even back then it must have somehow showed and everyone could see I wasn't a typical boy.

I just don't understand why every man alive don't at least try crossdressing once in a while..

Dana, I so know what you're talking about...

Although I've already replied early on to this thread, I just wanted to say how unbelievably lucky all of us frequenting this site truly are. :)

Y'know, we dressed as little girls, young ladies, or grown women... we've tasted the forbidden fruits of what it felt like to step out of the masculine and into the feminine. And every respondent here did, and still does.

I'll daresay that if every little boy, pre-teen, adolescent, young adult, or grown man dared to buck convention and at least try on female clothing, they might well find the experience enjoyable. We all did, and keep coming back for more.

If nothing else, at least they'd gain a greater understanding of how "the other half lives"... and I believe we'd gain a lot of new members! :heehee:

I was raised as a girl, an I think it was so my father would not be A 1 for the draft. My father was the only one in his family that was married. I knew for a long time that I liked too wear girls an now women's cloths. This was durning WW2. I don't really remember being a girl, but later in life one of my aunts told me at a get together of our family. It was quite a shock as I knew I like dressing, but to learn that about my self was interesting.

When I was five or six my step-monster used my closet for the overflow. She just had too many clothes. One day she left a pair of pantyhose on the floor and I tried them on. I was addicted from then on. She lost many pair of pantyhose over the next few years. I expanded to one of her one-piece bathing suits, a teddy, a nightie or two, etc. I never got to go anywhere dressed other than a sneak out for a quick walk in the wooded area.

I was 14 when I wore some of my best friends sisters clothes. She was 2 years younger than us and it began as a dare. She started asking if I wanted to wear more of her clothes, and I quickly found myself in some tops and skirts. She had just began wearing training bras and thought I should experience the same and soon found myself wearing bras too. I continued dressing with her and she was the one who gave me my first bra and also took me out for the first time for a halloween party.

I first tried on something at around 6, at least the first time I remember for sure, that was a long time ago. The first time I dressed fully as a female, minus undergarments, was around 8, I found a bag of old clothes is our shed, there was a skirt that was ankle length on me, a blouse, even found a pair of my sisters shoes.
I "borrowed" a scarf from my sister. I knew it was suppose to be a rag bag, but to me it was a treasure chest. I pulled out a few pieces and hid them somewhere else. I spent many an afternoon in and around that old shed.
It was still a few years between then and being able to put underwear with the outerwear, just couldn't get sis's bra and panties out of the house.

My earliest memory was when I was four and I got caught because I started crying when I couldn't figure out how to take off my sisters dress.
Lots of laughter followed and I dressed in secret from then as I realized it wasn't a "normal" thing to do.

Growing up with mother and older sister, they got to wear nightgowns while I just had boy pajamas. Boring! I got to wear my sister's hand-me-downs at night, which my mother was fine with. Was THAT the start of my journey? :D

As I posted in another thread, back in the mid 60's, when I was about 10 years old my mother used me for a wig stand. I did not really like that.

My mother also took in sewing and alterations for added income. So fast forward a couple years and and around age 12/13 I got drafted to be the dress form for garments in my size range. In the name of making money my mother had no issues with me wearing proper undergarments for the fitting.

For most dress fittings I would have on panty girdle, bra, stockings slip and heels. Unfortunately I started liking it too much and things like shaving the fuzz off my legs or wearing the lingerie a little too long after the fitting was over did not go unnoticed.

One day my mother came home with a dress stand from a second hand shop and I was replaced. Evidently mother told her sister about my inclinations and my cousin Mary got wind of it.

While visiting at Mary's one time she approached me about it and asked if she could dress and make me up. I agreed and when the timing was right I went along with it and had a blast. Mary kept it a good secret and we did it off and on until I could no longer wear her clothes around age 15. It was really fun wearing age appropriate clothing as it was the dawning of mini skirts and pantyhose.

I never did much full dressing after that and am content now with wearing panties , pantyhose and sometimes a nightgown to bed. And fortunately I have a wife who understands people are wired different and thinks nothing of my behavior.

Would I be this way if my mom had not started it? I do not have a clue to the answer. I do know prior to wearing the lingerie that I showed no interest in those kind of things.

As a child 'fully' dressed?, I don't think it happened, 4 or 5 i vaguely remember wrapping a table cloth like a sarong and throwing it away quickly as I saw my dad coming. My moms stockings, pantyhose and her lingerie came next but since I would go through her women's magazines a lot i wanted to be more like the lingerie models. It was only when I was about 14 or 15 I had on heels, slips, dresses, blouses, nighties, bra, panties, hose, kind of trying the whole look, with a little lipstick and eye make up. but even at that time it was still new and just not knowing what i want or am getting into. the level of excitement was 'explosive'

I would wrap satin or fuzzy things around me, I think around 11-12, and made makeshift panties when I got a little older, at one point I stole an old bridesmaids dress from my mom during a yardsale, still feel guilty about that one but it was so cute and I was only like 15 so I had no access to anything cute that fit my tiny girly body, oh and pantyhose were easy to get ahold of because my dad used them for something in the garage and had a bad full of new ones. Wish I didn't try to stop with drugs, now I'm getting back into it at 20 and it was such a setback! I could've been treating my body like the adorable temple it is.

My mom used me to model dresses that she sewed for some cousins of mine, my mom then thought it would be cute so she painted my nails and applied lipstick. I wore my grandma's long dresses funny nobody ever said anything. It was around 12 that I started experimenting with my mom's wardrobe. She had wigs and heels. She also had a pretty large amounts of cosmetics. I slowly got to the point where I would dress completely.

Yes, lots of time being in dresses when I was a child. My mother was an expert dressmaker and specialised in complete weddings, there were always bridal gowns and birdesmaids dresses in the house. For years in mmy teens when I was the size of a young woman she'd have me wear the dresses so she could check how they moved and see if they sat right. I ried one to add it up, must have worn at least 30 bridal gowns and 3 or 4 times as many birdesmad dresses in my youth. It felt good to be pretty once in a while.

No, unfortunately, the clothes just weren't available. My earliest memory of crossdressing is when I was three. But my first time fully dressed was when I was about 12. At that age my mother's clothes fit me pretty well. Also, my parents were out of the house a lot, so I had plenty of opportunity.

I knew since 1st grade or so that I had a draw to girls' clothes and being a girl, but didn't get enough courage to sneak into my mom's closet until around middle school. I never got caught, and pretty quickly swore it off to make sure I didn't. I've always wondered what would've happened had I had a sister, with clothes closer to my size and more appropriate for my age (I have a theory that peoples' wardrobe style freezes at around age 40, and my mom's clothes were definitely NOT fashionable for a middle schooler anyway!). I had to resist the urge to go into my girl cousins' closets when visiting them, which I successfully did. I kind of chalk up my generally high patience level and the ability to defer gratification that I have today in all aspects of my life to the practice I got from not wanting to get caught in women's clothing growing up!

Wow, it is so great to hear everyone's stories on this. As for myself, I was never feminized but I remember as a very young child on vacation with my parents. It turned out that I needed a change of underwear, but given that my underwear was already packed, my mom suggested that I wear one of her panties. I felt embarassed but agreed. It was a wonderful and necessary beginning to my life as a sissy crossdresser!

I guess you could say it started the day I was born; I was wrapped in a pink blanket in the delivery room! Turned out that lots of boys were born that day and they ran out of blue blankets. My earliest memories are of wearing Mom's old long gloves, having dollies, having one of Mom's old purses, and using the Avon lipstick samples. I thought it was normal and didn't understand when I was told I didn't need to take my purse with me like Mom did when we went places. Later, my younger sister and I played dress up as often as we could. I used her clothes or Mom's, just depended on whose fit best, and we had a blast!

The first time I wore feminine clothes I was ten. When alone at home I put into a nightgown of my mother. I don`t remember exactly, but I believe I progressed in a few weeks to panties, bra, pantyhose, skirt and blouse.
What I do remember is that I wanted to do it since I was at least five or six, but the courage and the occasion took some years to come.

As a child I had quite limited opportunity. As a preteen/teen I had plenty. I have several opportunities while home alone to prance around the house dressed however I liked. Also, living in a small town with lots of secluded wilderness areas and beaches nearby gave me the chance to go outside dressed and still be very private. I miss those opportunities today. Swimming in a bathingsuit was the absolute best.

Even though I always felt like a girl/woman I never dressed on my own volition. As a young child I was given my older sisters hand me down panties and T-shirts to wear. At three and a half I was baptized in a very frilly dress. I don't remember that but a few years ago I was shown the pictures. Between about age eight and twelve my mother used me as a dress model for dresses she was making for a girl cousin. I know I had the full gear on at least three times. She made a lot of dresses and always had me take my pants off when she was adjusting the hem. One time when I had every thing on she had me wear the dress for a good portion of the morning and afternoon. We had lunch together and even watched some TV for awhile. My aunt forced me to dress in my cousins dress and undies when I got my boy clothes dirty while playing out on her farm. I was very humiliated by that incident and received much ridicule for a long time to come. I didn't like any of those 'dressing sessions.' In fifth grade I wore a girl's dress costume. Over the next few months I was urged by my girl classmates to try the dress on with various pieces of female underwear. Finally they urged me to try on modern day women's clothes. Once I did there was no turning back. To this day I believe I could've given up CDing with never thinking about it again had I not dressed in modern day female clothes.

My first experience was at about 12,did not think about it, just put on my mothers panties ,girdle and bra ,and a dress ,then started walking around the house ,until she noticed me and immediately told me to take them off . At the time I did not think about what I was doing but I loved the way it felt. That was 45 years ago and I still love to put on foundation garments along with other articles of female clothing.

When I was 9 years old I remember sneaking into my mother's closet to try on a fur cape that she had. It had been the object of my fascination for months and I loved touching the soft fur and running my hands along the silky lining of the coat. One day, when I was all alone in the house, I tried it on after ditching my boy clothes and underpants. When I looked in the mirror I was mesmerized by the image of me standing there with this very feminine article of clothing. It wasn't so much the outfit that captivated me, but it was the feminine persona that seemed to emerge. I remember thinking to myself that I really wanted to live the life of a girl. How unfair it was that I was forced to wear all this tacky male apparel. The rest, as they say, is history.

It was only when I entered my teens that I became intrigued with what girls were wearing - especially their transition from socks to nylon stockings (long before tights appeared). I had no sisters or close female relatives and all the local schools were single-sex, so my girl observation opportunities were limited to those I saw on my way to and from school plus a few girl neighbours. I knew very little about girls' clothes but wondered what it was like to wear a skirt and stockings. I found a grey, pleated skirt in my mother's wardrobe and a pair of stockings (rather a coarse mesh) that I don't think she ever wore, in a drawer. I tried them but without anything to hold up the stockings the experience was a little disappointing.

I didn't really know what girls my age wore to hold up their nylons but it so happened that a friend gave my mother a girdle that was too tight for the friend. It was also too tight for my mother (she would leave it stretched over the back of a dining chair to try to loosen it) and so I seized the opportunity to try that girdle. It was not at all tight on me but tight enough to allow me to experience the feeling of suspenders and stockings under a skirt. From that day onward I watched the girls around me with even greater fascination, knowing just a little of what it might feel like to wear their clothes. As I got a little older I learned from girlfriends about bras, slips, suspender belts and roll-ons and I so envied them but it took many years of only very occasional opportunities to try on women's clothes before I finally managed to buy my own things.

I was 8 yrs. old and put on my sisters clothes one afternoon when no one else was around. I remember pulling her dress over my head, it was a flower print and I had the darnedest time trying to figure out how to button up the back, looking in the door mirror and thinking this so completely wonderful. I found her shoes and slipped into them and then just stood there thinking, " this isn't fair, girls get to wear all the neat clothes." . From then on I was hooked, and would take any opportunity to try on my sisters clothes, which then lead to trying on my moms things and it's been one heck of a life from there... Know what I mean??? I still think girls get the better end of the deal as far as fashion goes.....

I have a pic of me in a dress at age 2 or 3. A boy in my second grade class wore a dress at halloween and I was so jealous. I used towels as skirts when I was older. I saw my mother in a bra and girdle when I was 12 0r so and just had to try them on. When I did I was hooked. For a while we were the same size so when my parents were out I would dress completly. I first started dressing when I was pretty young. Maybe 8 or 9. I dressed as much as I could, always very careful to put everything back exactly like I found it. Of course, I didn't have a wig, and had no idea how to apply makeup properly, but I tried to be as girly as possible. I have no idea if my mother ever suspected that I had visited her closet and dresser. I have to think she probably did, though she never said anything, and I never got caught in the act.

I'm blessed in the fact that I grew up in New Orleans. Most people think they only throw beads from floats during Mardi Gras but that is not the case. They throw all kinds of crap....including panties! So I was able to have my own stash of panties from a very young age.

As far as dressing fully, that only happened one magical time when I was 4-5 I guess. My sister puffed up my hair, put makeup on me and made a dress out of a big t-shirt. Ahhhh fond memories!

Yes, a couple of times for Halloween (who didn't?).
There was one incident when I was about 12 (best I can remember). Three of us boys decided to paint our faces like a clown. We got some red lipstick, went to a basement, and started. The first boy drew red circles on his cheeks. The next boy applied the lipstick to his lips, not clown-style, but as a woman would, and quite competently. I followed, and applied the red lipstick to my lips as the other had. Not a word was said. We cleaned up and went to our homes. It didn't occur to me at the time, but only several years later I wondered if I might have come across another boy who crossdressed. A missed opportunity to have a CDing buddy?

I remember nothing with respect to trans prior to my sixth grade. Up until the sixth grade I was pushed off into military schools. Other than my mother, my grandmother, and school house mothers, exposure to the feminine side was rare and mostly distant.

The summer before I started the sixth grade I moved into a three story house with my mother and a handful of young women renting apartments from my mother. School started and I had my first daily exposure to young females. What a different world this was. Women were beautiful, exciting, wonderful to be with, and their thoughts were so much like mine. I certainly noticed those girls at school and I found that I wanted to spend my time with them. I began to look at the girls clothing and wish I could wear clothes like that.

Maybe I could fix my hair like they do. In these days my poor mom was too busy with herself to pay attention to me, that left me to run like a loose animal wherever I happened to venture.

Many times, during the day but mostly evenings, I would set my hair, place a scarf over my head (in those day that was common), put on one of my mothers dresses or skirt and blouse, put on some lipstick, grab a pair of her shoes (what ever was available) and walk to the park, walk up and down the streets, and sometimes I would buy some candy. It was not too long before I was faced with true narrow minded harshness. Immediately my actions became stealth.

Now that I am older and researched my feelings, I dress with pleasure.

I just find it a bit to kinky to dress up as a child.
I prefer to dress up as an adult woman :-)
Sorry, I couldn't resist the temptation. ;-)

But on the more serious side, my first CD recollection is that when I was 7 and swapped jackets with a girl for days.
(I also tried once when I was 5, but failed. I ended up ruining the Neighbor's coat hanger when trying to reach a coat or jacket I wanted to try)
Fully dressed as girl/woman, happened first late in my teens.

I was caught trying on my aunts girdle and stockings at 4 ,I remember sleeping next to my mother feeling totally content cuddling up to her nylon nightgown when I was very young, I then remember being put into girls side zip jeans at about 5/6 it changed me , from then on all I wanted was to wear frilly nylon knickers and nylon princess style dresses that were common in the early 60's .I then became interested in my mothers and older sisters underwear and clothes and developed a passion for all things nylon and feminine , by the time I was 10 years old I was spending many hours a day dressed in sheer tights and knickers and slips watching beautiful women on daytime soaps wishing I was a girl .

I can't say I purposely dressed up as a girl when I was a child. I do remember liking my sister's and female cousin's pretty dresses far more than I liked my own boy clothes. However . . . when I was six, my older sister (nine) was having our female cousins and a few of her friends over for a slumber party. Being a typical bratty brother, I was bugging them so they decided to play dress-up at my expense. When they were finished I was wearing a cute yellow summer dress, lacy ankle socks, girl undies, Mary-Jane shoes, and my hair had yellow barrettes in it. Of course I screamed bloody murder but secretly I think I enjoyed it.

When I came out to my older sister a few months back she had a harder time than my younger sister processing. I remember her calling me one evening with the epiphany that it was her fault that I liked dressing as a woman because of that one day long ago. I told her I doubt very much that is the reason and besides . . . I remember liking it even then.

I'm not sure if this counts, but when I was 7 or 8 there was a girl names Karen a few houses up from where we lived and she use to invite me up to play house. Yes there were tea parties and the such. I didn't dress then. The other neighborhood kids found out and the beatings begin. So it was a relatively short enjoyable period.

I started at about 7 with my sisters clothing, quickly moving up into my moms clothes. She always wore dresses, heels and pantyhose, so I had quite the selection to choose from. As I got older, I began hoarding away some of my moms stuff and dressing in it when ever I was home alone. The best memories though, were of when I was about 15, and my neighbors went away for vacation. They were from Panama, and would go back for 3 or 4 weeks at a time, and entrust me with the keys to the house to feed their cats and retrieve their mail. That was always fun as I always snooped around their closets and dressers. Always made sure to remember how everything was so I didn't lose that golden opportunity. Fast forward to my 20's, when I told my girlfriend (now wife) and have had my own clothes since then. I moved out at 20 with her, and had my own wardrobe, hers and her friends who were in on it. Now I only hide it so my kids don't discover it.

I'd have been about 12 when I started to borrow things from the girls in the house. As a child the only memory I have is of being sent out to play in the snow in my mother's boots because I didn't have anything suitable. It was embarrassing.

I started with my moms panties when i was 9-10 years old, then her pantyhose and heels came, then I discovered her dresses.
I always waited for my parents to leave the house, so I could dress.

When I was six or seven, the girls in my neighborhood basically told me to go away because i was not a girl like them. I'm using polite vocabulary.

Whatever girls did, I was profoundly jealous.

I used to dress in secret, with my mothers clothes.I'd wait for her to leave for work, then walk into her bedroom&open her closet
door&scan her dresses&skirts&blouses&decide which one I wanted to wear.I would open the drawer&take a fresh,unopened pkg
of pantyhose, put them on,then select a skirt, blouse&one of her blazers&then slide into one of her many pairs of heels&walk over
to her make-up table&put on one of her wigs&sit down&do makeup

I love to read about those of you whose mothers (sisters, other girls) encouraged you to dress as a kid. My mother did once, when I was 4 or 5. After that, I'd then sneak into her closet whenever I could. I think she knew, but never talked about it. I wish we had, because I would have loved to be the part-time daughter she always wanted.

No. Never dressed. Never had anyone dress me. 3 sisters but all were younger and their girl clothes would not have fit. Did not have interest or desire to crossdress. Mom never dressed up or wore makeup. No high heels or stocking around to spark interest. No youthful experiences to present curiosity. Maybe I would have crossdressed much younger if environment and exposure were different. I think I would have.

When I was around four, my mother was making a pleated fabric cover that matched our curtains for a large table lamp. It looked exactly like a skirt before she attached it to the shade. I remember taking off my shorts and pulling the fabric up to my waist like a skirt and looking at myself in the mirror. At around age 10, I started experimenting with discarded stockings and pantyhose. Many times, I'd wear hosiery under my clothes in middle school and high school. With no sisters, my "supply" of feminine clothes was limited to my mother's.

I dressed while in grade school wearing a girdle or tights to school.
I used to walk to the store an buy my own nylons.i thought i was the only person
In the world who wanted to dress as a gurl. Im a lot older now
And the feeling is still just as good if not better.

I so enjoyed reading about the experiences you all had as children. No one ever dressed me as a child nor did I have an opportunity to be in a play or have a role where i could dress. i did have the desire to cross dress at an early age. I can remember little girls in the first and second grade showing off their Mary Janes; i wanted to try them on so much!

Not as a child, but as a 'tween' & early teen.

My sister moved back home for a while to get back on her feet financially, when she and the parents were out I would dress up. She had a lot of nice and cute stuff: uniforms from her airline job, her wedding dress, ski pants & jacket... WHAT FUN!

This was in the 70s and my mom had an incredible pair of gogo boots. I was 6 or 7 and loved putting them on. Its funny, my parents caught me and there is a picture of me wearing them with the biggest smile on my face (If only they knew). I was blessed to have 2 older sisters so when I was home alone, age 10 and older, I would play dress up sometimes. Other than the boots, no one has seen me dressed up.

50+ years later, I am coming to realize that I don't know. I wanted to be alone. I wanted to be like my mom. Ask me in another year. I'm sure I will have given it another few hundred hours thought.

Now, I can't wait to check the mail services to see if my new ballet slippers came in. Such a joy, I found "Sidekicks" brand in gold, purple and pink! Think of the possibilities!

By girls! :hugs: rrrrr

Didn't dress head to toe, but I would go through both my mom's and step mom's closets to wear all of the dresses they had when I was early teens. My desire to crossdress has always been with me, but I never acted on it until my teenage years.
