View Full Version : So who is the role-model woman you want to be?

Vanessa Rose
02-06-2014, 08:26 PM
Have given this much thought...

who is Vanessa?

what do I want to be portrayed as?

etc...

But I got to thinking that there are more than several categories of CD women here..

1) the proper lady:heehee:

2) the trouble maker lady:TamaraCroft:

3) the streetwalking / ****:dom:

4) the business woman:o

5) etc..

This post is not about how you are all of these.. forget that.. who cares...(wink).

THE QUESTION IS, which one are you most of the time and are you acting in manner of a role model you knew in the past or present...that is with regards to manners, actions and poise..etc. http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/images/icons/icon11.gif

I, like most other M2F girls, possess a multifaceted personality as your post suggests. But I would say I am mostly a confident self determined good hearted person who does what she wants with little or no interest or concern for how average normal gendered people perceive or judge me.

I can be charming when I want to be but otherwise am generally aloof, seemingly detached, determined and self satisfied. Underneath it all however I think I am a truly kind and well meaning individual.

In spite of how I just described myself though it doesn't change the fact that we, as social beings need social interaction. The people we socialize with act as 'mirrors'. They inform us about us, who we are, our qualities both good and bad, our character and personality. Without such ongoing interaction we would be largely unknowing about ourselves and lack the means to evolve and refine ourselves.

But doesn't being transgendered in an intolerant society mean we are at a significant disadvantage in this respect? Yes, in general such is the case. So there is great value Interacting with, hanging out with others who are also transgendered. Having M2F transgendered girlfriends would fill the universal need we have to socialize. Provide a mirror of self reflection. Wish I had such friends, but I don't. Sigh...

I don't like categorizing, that's just like another way to separate out people and say that "I'm better than everyone else" kinda mentality. I am me, and I choose to be who I am and act how I want to at any given moment.

I like to fall somewhere in between the "proper" lady and the streetwalker. Like to act all innocent I guess. At the same time it kind of gives me a thrill to be a little ****ty. :o
If I could choose one woman to aspire to be it would definitely be Liz Phair. If the sex roles were reversed I would love to be her groupie. Got a thing for female songwriter / rock stars, especially when they actually do rock. There's something really hot about a girl guitar player that can actually play guitar. :battingeyelashes:
Take that Lisa Loeb.

I will say it again....
I am my own woman and I am satisfied with my role model.
I do not aspire any other one.

I think Beverley Sims is real great. :)

Vanny - it's a good point - I think those fantasy ideals are what I started with - and then ultimately a desire to emulate one or more real women in looks, or style or presence.. (I've said on another thread, I used to so want to emulate Debbie Harry :))

But Bev has caught more recent reality for me... (Experience does it again, Bev!!! :cheer:)

The more Katey has developed as part of me; the more she has become a physical presence through transformation and capturing that on video and in photos; that process seems to have substantiated this part of me - whereas previously (guilty secrets again...) an image in a mirror is somehow not as real. If I look now at how I feel about how I dress and present; sure, it's still a fantasy and fun to be glam, t*rty, smart, Catwoman (!) whatever - but the more I make an effort to make Katey real, the more her/my own choices come into play.

Katey just ends up being herself... that can't be bad, can it?

For me I see myself as a classy sophisticated upscale lady.

Of course that ends at the bed room door where I become a total ****.

I'm definitely dealing with a rockstar. It's kind of hard to narrow it down, but if I had to pick one, I'd say Patricia Day from The Horrorpops. She's got such a beautiful and wonderful style.

I can think of who I would love to look like: Kate Upton.

Role model, I guess I dress more like a street walking /*****. The only time I feel sexy.

This sums me up perfectly. I have a girly-girl side, but I am also a mechanic and I don't mind getting dirty, well I mind a little bit - I don't want to break a nail!

I think Meredith Brooks said it perfectly in her song "Bitch".. I'm pretty much all of the things a woman (and man) can be.. it just depends on my mood.

And I consider all of these things a part of me. So that's who I am and I do not feel ashamed! :)

An action/adventure oriented gal a la Black Widow or Emma Peel who can kick butt when needed.:battingeyelashes::)

Zylia
02-07-2014, 09:41 AM
Zylia is me in a wig, I don't pretend it's another person with characteristics I don't normally have (beyond appearance of course). As a matter of fact, I deliberately avoid talking about her in third person. I do not really have a female 'persona', I just like to portray myself as the (hotter) twin sister I never had, wearing outfits she might have worn

She was kind, gentle, loving and in all ways the kind of woman I would love to be.

I just make it up as I go. It's like every day is a new start with Lots
of possibilities. So, I guess I like trying make up my own style....borrowing
little bits I like here & there and adding my own personal touch.

Kate may very well be the first CD who really is..."doing it wrong"

Interesting...

I don't seek pictures of other girls typically, but in this forum, some are thrust upon you. I can't help but think that some of us dress as a mother figure as well. There are quite a few that emulate what would figure to be - mom, grand mother or ???? someone older. Maybe I am wrong, but a picture is worth a thousand words. or two thousand if you are as fat as I am. ok three thousand...

i have a quite a few role models and they are thousands of gorgeous women i like looking like, but when i was a kid I did spend a lot of time with an aunt, my mother too. I loved how dainty, feminine and poised in a very sophisticated way, my aunt was. She was very feminine, loved to dress up, and shop, never had chipped nails paint, always manicured perfectly or hair out of place, her make up was always immaculate. I realize I have taken on quite a few of her traits, I feel I am there when I see a bit of her in me. I also look a lot like my mother when she was young, she was and is beautiful.

Well seeing as how I have really become the woman of my dreams, I have adopted the business woman. But do not let looks fool you. When I am good, I am really good. But when I am bad..... I'm Awesome!;)

I have chosen the businesswoman.

My role model - Martha Stewart - That's who my forum name is based on.

She is still going strong at age 72, very active and has a youthful outlook on life. Also she still looks good as well ( though I assume the makeup helps as well)

I would like to be like my great aunt, Aunt Minnie. (Indeed, I'm taking her name as my middle name when I legally change my name.) Aunt Minnie was never exactly glamorous - she was in her 80's when I knew her as a child, but she was an amazing and inspiring woman. She was the oldest of 13 sisters, and her youngest sister was my grandmother. Their mother died after my grandmother was born, so Minnie raised all of her brothers and sisters. She never married - she missed that opportunity by helping her father with the kids. He left her the family farm in exchange for her help, and she ran that too, after he died. Everything this woman did was with love. Everyone loved her - her cooking was legendary, but she was always there for you, with advice - good advice - on how to solve a problem you had. If I could be half the woman she was, I'd consider my transition to be successful beyond my wildest hopes.

In terms of looks - I really don't want to look like an 85 year old woman yet - I admire my younger sister, and consider her a role model in many ways as well. She is smart, fashionable, hip, and just a hell of a woman too. We've always been close, and I've always admired her talent (she has artistic and musical talent), intelligence, and creativity. I very definitely consider her a role model.

I'm really fortunate, I've been blessed with examples of many fine women in my life. I only hope is that I can come close to measuring up to them, because they are all exceptional (I count my mother and grandmother in this number too - I have been really blessed with so many admirable women in my life.)

I've rethought what I had posted previously.

Mine is Katy Perry. Girl next door with a little trashy thrown in.

I would have to say a combination of the business woman the proper lady with a dash of troublemaker.

Jaimie Leigh Curtis I love the fact that she herself progressed from the girl next door look through ***tty in trading places and now Is a classic statuesque beauty. Gotta admit the poo yogurt commercials kinda turned me off but she's still lovely and always has been.

Not so much who, but rather which style.
I have a few options of role-models that I would be more than happy to assume:

1) A classy rich woman in her 40's window browsing in a far to expensive mall.
Perhaps wearing a crisp white blouse, a brown linen pencil skirt, a modern 7/8'' mahogany colored mink stroller, A black quilted Chanel tote purse, dark brown pumps, a blond wig, not to long, but appropriately styled for this role model.

2) A business woman in her 40's on a business trip, perhaps in the first class of flight or the lounge at the airport.
Perhaps wearing a tailored slim and dark red skirt suit (or a black, or a combo with a red jacket black skirt), matching pumps, a beige or black long trench coat, a brown and shoulder length wig.

3) A Persian, Arabic or Latino bombshell in her 20's-30's on her way for a night out or in a party.
Perhaps wearing a tight-fitting little black dress, super high black heels, very distinct makeup (red lipstick is a must), a long pitch-black wig, golden colored jewelry, hope-earrings, and a small purse that is a bit over the top.

4) A hot secretary in her 30's working in an office
Perhaps wearing a white satin blouse, a slim knee length leather skirt with a slit at the back, black high heels, and perhaps a long wool coat for the outside.

5) Any of my role-models from my youth in their 20's-50's
Perhaps dressing like a long-time-ago favorite female teacher, or the MILF next door, etc.

But, I want to be able to work out(run) and such.
Otherwise, I love the look of Olivia Wilde.

Classy all the time. I'd much rather over-dress than under-dress. Trashy just isn't me.

Me? No one in particular. I've long admired polite, self confident, professional women, those with poise, sufficiently comfortable with themselves that they have no need to be someone or something else. Women that are fairly good looking but not due to salons or gyms.

To one degree or another, that's me as a guy, and I do not want to present as something else as a woman.

Best wishes

I've always viewed my Mother as my role model. She is retired now, but was a secretary throughout her working years and I used to absolutely love her looks; her demeanor has never changed from being that of a compassionate, loving, kind-hearted mother, wife, and person. I love who and what she is and that is exactly what I strive to resemble!

I hope I won't be judged harshly, but I love the elegance and fierceness of some of the top female impersonators--not the garish DQs, but the pageant - ready ladies like RuPaul.
