Unexpected ego boost

We were on facetime with family in another state last night, talking to one of the grandfathers. When I got on the screen and started talking to him (in drab), he told me "you sure are looking good!" and I told him he was one handsome guy. He paid me a couple other compliments before someone there whispered to him that they thought is was me (my drab self) and you could see the lights come on and he laughed and said he thought I was one of the grand daughters and the tone of the discussion changed entirely to a guy tone. We all got a great laugh, but it left me on cloud 9! I didn't realize he didn't know who I was until that moment; I wonder what that says to the rest of the family that was tuning in? I loved it; it felt like validation! Just had to share that.
