I decided to go out en femme. So I get on the bus and one of my best friends is driving!!!I thought this is it he will know me!
He says casually after I show my pass "Thank you ma'am"
I have been friends with this person for over 35 years(yeah i'm showing my age, lol)

Wow, that is so cool. That demonstrates beyond a doubt that most people identify gender based on prominent features expected. I love posts like this. It gives me confidence to present as female even though I am an aborigine, cave man, unibrow. Not really, but I 'm sure many understand what I'm trying to say...

That is so Cool! I'd probably have frozen up and gave myself away. But...who
knows. Maybe I'll find out one day...

Great validation, Jennifer... :cheer:

Confirms again that most people out there are just wrapped up in their own little world!

Of course, because we spend so much time watching other folk (and particularly GGs!), we assume everyone else does...

Great experience, Jennifer - have another... :)

Remember, Jennifer,
He is concentrating on the pass, the next passenger and the timetable.
I may look people in the eye when serving them but I do not necessarily recognise "what" they are.

Eye contact can be just that unless a distraction occurs.

Good for you. I have heard before, that most people we know, will not recognize us when we are in femm mode.

Could be he did notice, but is great with snap decisions and covering his emotions?
Be nice if you have a much better friend than you thought you did. :)

While he may have recognized you if he was not distracted, the experience was certainly memorable.
Good for you, and many happy travels on your journey through life.

Best wishes

I love it. I think he probably didn't recognize you because you were female and it just didn't register in his mind that you were his friend.

That was a rather surprising but exciting revelation, wasn't it?

Don't depend on it next time, when you deal with the public all day, you stop looking at faces, he just reads the more obvious signs, and doesn't look at the details.
Clothes say girl, hair says girl, hand says, young or old, bus driver gives the right response thank you ma'am or Sir. it's all kind of like a machine.
Another setting, paying more attention, it's hard to fool those that really know you, it might take a moment but then a light may come on, so just don't count on it every time.
On the other hand, what a rush getting away with it, and him not recognizing you. But tell me, do you carry clean panties for that sort of encounter, I know I would of needed them.

He probably doesn't really look at the passengers as he see's so many on a daily basis, just hope he concentrates on his driving a bit more.

That is awesome. That is the main fear I have and why I struggle with going out locally. Even when I go to Vegas and go out, I change hotels from the conference I am there for and then become Trisha, but still live in fear that I might get recognized by someone from the conference or even someone I don't know is there too. Way to go girl!! WOOT WOOT!

If you dress like a woman and act like a woman that's what people see. Even old friends or family if they don't know you dress. It's happen to me and they just walked by.
