View Full Version : Well girls..
Sometimes you just don't know how lucky you are. Today on the ride to a store my mom asks me if I'm a cross dresser. Since the question was out of no where I just sat there and thought for a few seconds. Told her I was..
As we pulled up she said while we're in here do you want me to buy you some makeup. Oh lord, my eyes lit up! After we got it she told me she was proud of me for being myself and the she loved me. We came back to the house, and she even showed me how to apply it. It has been an amazing day, very happy!

That is a wonderful story of acceptance from your mom! How did she figure it out, do you reckon?
I say the pink socks were a dead giveaway hahaha
My hearts a little lighter today.

Lol! Sometimes a mom just knows. It is wonderful she is so accepting - so many parents would not be .

You're very fortunate to have an understanding mother. I'm sure if you let her, she will alleviate much of the anxiety a cross dresser may have in shopping for clothing.
Haha That's true enough!
I told her on the way to the house that I was really lucky to have a mom that's as accepting as her. I think it's made both our days and brought us closer together.

Isa - that's wonderful you have such an understanding and accepting mother - brilliant! :cheer:
I wonder if there's a generational acceptance thing going on here, everyone? I'm darned sure my mother would have been very unimpressed if I'd ever had to reveal to her, but Isa's relatively young and so one would expect her mom to be also relatively... just pondering folks... :)
Now Isa, what will you plan next...? Have a great day! :D

We did have a good laugh when I stabbed myself in the eye multiple times with mascara..
XD
Well Katey, I was thinking once I get paid we could get our nails done. My treat. :)

That's a great story! I'm 40, and I wish I could open up to my Mom about this "hobby" of mine. Not only do I think it would be fun to shop with her, she has some things that I want!

Parents like your mom are wonderful, aren't they? They have this "unconditional love" that transcends everything else. I wish that all parents cared more for their children than they do for themselves, but that's a different rant.
She knew, probably for longer than you can guess. Parents often know, or think that that they know many things about their children. Things the children they think they have successfully hidden from them. The parents have a generation more experience than their children and know how to wait for the right time to talk about them. I wouldn't doubt that your mom planned to buy the makeup before leaving the house.
What a wonderful story.
Best wishes

Women do tend to know. Moms, wives, GF's.... we think we are hiding it, and we are to a point, but they know something is up. My wife asked me back when we were getting engagee what there is to know about me that she didn't know. I passed on that question, but she felt in her heart she knew something. They do know, women's intuition.

It is always wonderful to hear a parent is accepting and understanding of a child's "different lifestyle"! Perhaps your mother will help you to build your feminine wardrobe, suggest a hairstyle, and show you how to enjoy being Isa. Enjoy.

Isa,
I am curious as to what precipitated that question in the first place.
Did she know "something"?

I am so happy for you Isa. You have a good mom though. I am firmly of the opinion that parents should be supportive rather than judgemental. Cheers to her. :)

Just read of another similar experience. I'm happy happy happy for you. If she's willing, try to make up for lost time and talk with her about all the things she would have told you/taught you if you'd been a girl from birth. You have an amazing opportunity here. Go for it.
I just remembered what a great seamstress my mom was. She could sew anything and often made her own clothing. If I'd been out to her, I'd have had perfectly tailored dresses to die for. Sigh.
Enjoy this great opening for you to really be you with the person who brought you into this world.
Best (and envious) regards.

That's wonderful. This really opens the door for you to live the life you want. You're young, and that may not be entirely evident. Thanks to your mother yore now free to explore.
Natcrys: :) hehehe
Isha: it truly is. :3
Barbra: it's in the works!
Sue: they're the best!
Beverly: When I was little I'd play dress up, but even she said she thought it was a phase. I think my pink socks gave it away.
Rhonda: Beautiful ideas!

It's so nice to read threads like this, it's something most of us can only dream about. As opposed to the horrified looks I got when I told mom.

If my Mom ever found out or even suspected, she'd say, "You know, I've been meaning to tell you this, but you were adopted."
You are so lucky to be blessed with an understanding and accepting Mom. Enjoy it all you can!

Congrats Isa!!! I had my mom ask me a few times if I was transgendered or something on a few occasions when there would be a topic on TV about it like Oprah or something. I always denied it. She has caught me twice once when I was like 8 and again at 17....she has her suspicions obviously....especially ewhen I grew my hair long. I don't think she would ever really accept it. She's too traditional and too religious....I still love her even though she chooses to follow a foolish religion. Glad your mom is cool about it. What part of NC are you in? I'm in Raleigh. Would be cool to go out as girls sometime.

Congrats Isa! Great story! Yeah it's always nice to have family + friends on your side.
Unsure on age,etc.. But I also had an easy time telling my mom. (I'm 48 she's about 75)
Unfortunately, I don't get the 'help' in CDing from mine... She never does much makeup herself, or sewing, etc.
But it's something I can ask questions or discuss with her about at least.
Also don't get to dress much while visiting her.. (Small town, frequent other friends visiting, etc so I don't dress full-bore there). Next time she's up visiting me on vacation however, should be a blast.

They do know, women's intuition.
The thing is, men have it also. The problem is that it tends to get walled off in us as it isn't appreciated. We are cultivated in a way that helps us to evaluate what is in front of us and to extrapolate that to evaluate what might happen next. Women are cultivated to combine what they see with what they feel and they listen to it. Men can sense the same things, but it is discounted in us, so we don't listen to it.
Anyway, it's a great story and sounds like a wonderful beginning!
