I keep my body totally smooth in the winter and tan myself in bikini panties. Yesterday I decided to take a 4 day trip to florida with my wife and also invited my sister. This will be interesting what her reaction will be to my smooth legs.

Trisha,
She may not even notice otherwise just say you got a skin rash from some trousers you were wearing and you were told shave the hair.
I was busted once and told someone I thought Nair was a suntan lotion.
That worked they just thought I was a bit thick... :)

I don't bother hiding my shaved legs, chest and belly anymore. I just tell a truth if/when they ask....."My wife loves me smooth bodied", and why are you looking at my legs? Yes I said "a" truth not "the" truth *giggles*

Nobody will really say much. I used to only shave in the winter too. Then I started keeping the chest, abs and armpits shaved all year and nobody even noticed. Then I started keeping my legs shaved all year and some noticed but made no negative reaction to them. I just said they look and feel better this way my wife likes them too. As far as what Beverly said about the trousers and a rash that is very true. I used to get a bad rash on both legs every winter until I started shaving them and the rash has never come back. I'm guessing from the hair rubbing against my dry sensitive skin.

My body is hairless year round now, I had full body laser hair removal and now will never have to shave again. I went to a family reunion picnic last summer and my legs, arms and pits were smooth and soft and no one said a word, not even my two macho brothers. I am sure everyone noticed because my legs and arms were rather white from lack of sun. If any one asks me if I shave my legs and arms I just tell them no and that I do not have any hair to shave, most people just say Oh, and that usually ends the conversation. No one has ever pushed it any further to find out why I do not have any hair on my body and I have never offered.

Hi Trisha!

Maybe you know that a lot of male athletes shave their legs and that a lot of women like men with smooth legs. So, you could explain that you just started to bike and that, in that community, it is rather odd to not shave your legs (believe it or not!)

I have been shaving my legs since last October. I am an avid cyclist, which very easily justifies leg shaving. I had been reluctant to doing it but decided to take the plunge! There is no way I will go back and have hairy legs. Yuk! ;) It just feels sooo right and comfortable. To help the situation, my wife told me she really likes it when I have smooth legs. I buy women's shaving cream and I use pink razors. Plus, I put moisterizer after I shave them :o

Good luck with your trip and let us know how it goes!
xoxo

Ditto to Barbie, Dana & Michelle: the very few times anyone has asked about my shaved legs, I tell the truth that my g/f and I both like them that way.

I keep my legs shaved all the time and nobody has noticed, but if anybody ever does notice I have a legitimate excuse for shaving, ingrown hairs. My legs were full of them, they were like mini corkscrews and very painful. My dermatolagist suggested that I shave my legs to get rid of them and it worked, so now if anyone would question me I'll just tell then it's doctor's orders.

Have a good answer ready but she may not say anything. My wife did not notice until I told her. Then she wasn't pleased.

Been shaving mine for years. Had a golf partner say something about them once. Told him I had knee surgery on one knee and they shave it and the hair won't come back so a shaved the other one. Have a small scar so no one know for sure why.

I think it is a fantasy that people do not notice.... but I do think that most just simply do not care.

I just tell them I'm a transvestite. Not really, but wouldn't it be nice if it were that easy?

Ressie - I think it really is that easy, but then we're back to taboo again aren't we? And that makes it not easy...

I've shaved mine since New Year and my wife hasn't even noticed... The hair was getting patchy around my ankles - all I can think of is abrasive socks  - that's my excuse: 'The hair was patchy and I didn't want to look untidy or get a patchy tan in the summer...'

Just have to make sure I remember to take that ankle bracelet off first... :heehee:

I know it's not quite related but Katey's post reminds me of how tired I am of wearing socks to hide my toe rings and my lovely nails that I spend so much time working on. And yes I want to wear my anklets too :)

I shave the legs, belly, arms. The GF has suggested she could be talked into waxing my back. (If she won't, I've got a local place that can do it for a reasonable fee) I'm having the 2nd tanning session today, (thanks for the reminder) and the intention is to look a lot better when I go to the pool sessions that will be coming up this Summer. Screw wearing board shorts, they'll just have to get over the shock of seeing me in speedos. Personally, I'm just happy that I can look this good at my age.

I've shaved mine since 2005 - honestly, very few people have ever noticed. And the ones who have asked me about it, I just tell them I'm not a naturally hairy guy and leave it at that (I'm not anyway), and that seems to satisfy them.

I usually shave my legs in the winter, but it's been so cold this year that I haven't shaved or trimmed any body hair. Maybe I'll even shave my legs during the summer this year.

My body is hairless year round now, I had full body laser hair removal and now will never have to shave again.

I've been dreaming of this. I have a ton of hair, though. Did it take long to accomplish? Did you have issues with regrowth?

By the way, I shave year round. Everything except my forearms (which I trim very short). No one says much about it. I initially got some questions, and like others on this list, I mentioned that my wife liked a smooth me, which is the truth. My wife doesn't like the long showers that are secondary to complete body shaving though! Thinks it wastes water.

I shave everything from the ears on down year round. I'm quite happy showing off my bare chest and legs at the beach. Nobody pays the slightest attention. But if somebody did comment, I'd just say "I like to wear short skirts and low-cut dresses, and that just doesn't work with hairy legs and chest." Most people would assume I was joking.

My doctor, a woman, asked me why I shaved my legs
I looked at her and said, "The same reason you do, to remove the hair." She simply smiled and said " touche".

You may be underestimating the effect of porn. When was the last time you saw anyone who was not shaved in porn? Shaving your genital hair is almost mainstream among today's youth. Shaving your legs? Really, who cares? Or maybe I should say if you are transgender in an environment where shaving your legs is actually an issue maybe you should move? There can't be that many places left in North America that have people that actually care. My son in law got married in Louisiana a few years back and as far as I could see he did not have an unshaved hair on his body. Even I don't shave my arms and scalp. He did and he's not a little bit femme or anything but straight.

There is no better feeling than freshly shaved silky smooth legs! :D

For me though, it's the other way around in terms of seasons... I usually can't be bothered to shave my legs during the winter, since I'm always cold. I just wear leggings or jeans.

But now, it's almost March and pretty okay temperatures.. so hello Mr. Razor! :)

its becoming mainstream..i know lots of cyclists.. i have taken up the shaving, but not gotten around to actually riding yet ; )

but seriously i love smooth legs but hate stubble, so i have started epilating, first with tweezers, now with a machine, especially so my bum bottom and font bottom so i look better in lace, and feel nicer in satin. its still summer here so i haven't taken it below the shorts line yet..but i am beginning to resent the hair on my chest and stomach.

Last winter was the first time i shaved my legs, i was amazed how every blemish becomes so obvious, and the same with close fitting clothing..i have even been dieting so i can make the most of my shape wear. i don't even need to dress sometimes, i feel so much more femme in the nude with my smooth bottom and legs. My wife understands why i like it, and i fully intend to blame her liking it when someone notices.

I do year round.
My justification to my wife when I started was that I was working 12 hour shifts outside; it gets kind of cold in Minnesota in the winter. I wore UnderArmour and similar compression thermal wear. Wearing that stuff up to and over 14 hours a day tugs at hair after a while. She accepted that explanation for the colder months. As the temperatures got warmer, I opened up to her about my dressing.
I've kept smooth since.

I now shave my legs year round... and other areas... :heehee: I don't feel right unless I do.

But, before I went full time I would shave my legs and wore shorts outside in public in the Spring to Fall months. No one has ever said a thing to me. Many men around in my area ride bicycles on the weekends for fun. Great excuse if someone asks.

I pretty much keep my bottom half shaved weekly. My gf asked earlier in our relationship and I plainly told her that I've done it for years, the hair drives me nuts if I don't. I shave my legs usually every Thursday morning and touch up everything else. Armpits? Yep, that's the hard one to do. I wear sleeveless shirts a lot when the weather turns warm.... that's the next hurdle. Not sure how I'll handle that.

It's always best to say little or nothing. I never give reasons for what I do. As far as I'm concerned, what I'm doing is what everyone should be doing and would be doing if they weren't so afraid of everything!

Nobody really notices. I have been hair free on most parts of the body below the ears for many years now and do a lot of beach and public pool swimming in the summer down this way. Most likely they are distracted by the polished toenails and navel jewellery, still nothing said but the occasional look at the nails..it takes more than shaved/waxed legs to get a comment these days!

I have shaved my legs for quite a few years now and although I am a dedicated shorts wearer nobody has commented apart from a few years ago a member of our club asked if I did, but I laughed it off. Possibly others speculate but haven't said anything. A couple of years some very old friends commented that I no longer had "Hobbit" toes, but they were on a "fishing trip" due to other clues, but that is a tale for another day.

Think it is becoming more common place as I have just seen Veet for men in a local shop, and it wasn't in a cosmipolitan centre

I have shaved my legs for years all the time, but I never wore shorts that much, well last year I started wearing shorts to work and no one said anything, my Mom had been after me for a long time as to why I didn't wear shorts when it was so hot. So I wore my shorts around her and she never said a word, I also started shaving my arms last year too and nothing was said about that.. now the other part of that is I have hair half way down my back as you can see in my photo here and it is cut in a ladies style. I also keep my eyebrows waxed and my nails clear polished most of the time... now I am sure people wonder but no one says anything. I have also started wearing ladies jeans and tops around town. Some people are talking and asking questions but not to me yet, I also wore ladies shorts last year and Mom said something about them being too short and I said no they aren't and that was all that was said about that. Most all my tops are ladies and the jeans and shorts are as well. Of course panties and camisoles are normal as well...

I shaved mine a couple weeks ago, think I will keep them shaved after reading this. I really do prefer smooth legs and if nobody seems to notice, it's all good! Funny thing is since I've shaved them my psorisis problem on both legs has cleared up. That is a huge bonus!

I find it very difficult to believe that a wife wouldn't notice if her husband shaved his legs unless he had very little hair to begin with. I'm assuming of course that they sleep together and have sex once in a while.

As for others noticing, some men have very littl body hair, others resemble Sasquatch. If you are the former, people aren't likely to notice if you shave the rest off as long as you keep it off. You can't go back and forth.

If you are the latter (Sasquatch), people will certainly notice if you show up one day shaved. I'm somewhere in between the two so I just use a man's groomer with a guide and keep the hair short. It would be nice to shave it smooth but at my age you can't just make a major change without people noticing and asking why.

Once I get my weight down and can properly cross my legs knee over knee I would like to try shaving my legs. That way my legs would probably look more attractive since I do have a nice pair of legs. My grandmother told me that I had a pair of legs that any girl would want.

I tell anyone who asks, and they are damn few, that I spend seven or eight hours a week in a gym working out, and why should I want to cover the muscles that have resulted with ugly fur as if I was just another overweight, out-of-shape American man.

My wife once said to me, don't shave your legs you will never be able to stop. I think any woman knows the real advantages and the fall back excuse is that its for looks...ie:for the guys benefit. So any explaination like, 'I tried it once for fun' is all you need to say. You will get a nod of approval.

I keep my legs shaved through out the year, i hate man fur, but my legs are always in 3/4 leggings so i dont get cold, if im really cold i put some thick wool leg warmers on which keeps me toasty.

I've only recently shaved my legs for the very first time. It was a lovely experience, but somewhat difficult to reach everywhere. It was worth it when I slipped on stockings over my bare legs for the first time :) I need to keep them shaved, but I've stopped wearing shorts for now (at least until I have The Talk (tm) with my wife, which should be next week or so. Of course, I live in Texas where the temperatures soar in the summer (we had two weeks straight of 100+ temperatures last summer, I think), so not wearing shorts will itself begin to look a bit odd.

Just the feel of freshly shaved legs is wonderful, especially after you apply some moisturizing lotion makes them so soft and smooth...used to only do below the knee, tried full leg and wow love it. Recently just have begun to hate any type of body hair!

I've been shaving my legs for a year now and I love it. Nobody said anything until last week when one of my wife's friends asked me. Told her that I did because I was tired of the patchy hair. She was cool with it, and thought they looked good. Wife told her the less hair the better!
