When I was growing up and would have the house to myself or there was a chance of it happening, there was an excitement matched by none. Hearing my own footsteps scurrying back and forth assembling what I needed to transform is something that is still clear in my head. Over the years it has changed I've stayed alone, shared flats and I find I choose my time to dress up based more on how much I have available (time and clothes). I no longer get much doing just the pantyhose or panties. I need to do the whole thing, the make-up is getting better and more detailed, and I chose my outfit taking more time to see what I would feel sexier and prettier in.
I write this because I have the house to myself right now and was wondering if I should dress up but then again thought of how I don’t have a wig and I kind of felt I won’t. Damn it. Call me vain but I also absolutely need a full length mirror which is there but I want my wig back, sob sob.

Poor you... I think it was only in the past few days you were talking about the end of another long period for you and the compromises that you would have to make... It's just tough letting go sometimes, but you have to be tough on yourself if you want those compromises to work.

Cold turkey is always a poor dish after weeks of festivities...

Perhaps you need to rethink your compromise strategy...?

ok...I will call you vain ( just kidding btw)...can you believe I dont own a full length mirror ..wtf right ?..Dressing can be a powerfull drug...the larger the dose you take...you need to take an even bigger one next time ( sometimes). I understand where you are coming from...so...I see a trip to the wig shop in your future. Due to time some days ( and sometimes just overall laziness) I will just dress...but with no makeup or wig...is it as much fun? not really...but it curbs the desire a bit...usually on a day like that I will hop on here so I am surrounded by friends and I forget I forgot to put on my face.

If you have a chance go for it, you know that it will make you feel better. I am preparing to dress tonight and even though I have things to do first I am excited about it. I agree with the mirror idea, as I always have a mirror next to me when I am dressed so I can keep reminding myself what I look like. It also makes me feel really great seeing myself dressed up and I always keep saying to myself that I feel real and love it. Not that I need to convince myself anymore. I am what I am and am going to always dress.

You dress when you can and enjoy every second of it. Big hugs and support. Lucy Lou xx

Hi Alexis, A Crossdresser without a full length mirror is like a day without sunshine.

Lucky for you, both problems have a cheap answer. Any store whose name in in mart, will have a cheap full length mirror, and a wig can be had on line for as little as $30.00 from a few different wigs companies.
Got a problem, man up and fix it!

Sonia,
I think my advice is a little like Tina's here.

Short, sharp and shiny. :)

Full length mirrors are inexpensive and I'm sure your gf would enjoy it also. Purging can be expensive. The big question is whether or not you can go through life hiding the extent of your desires. Sooner or later it is going to come out. I'd be more concerned about that than the mirror and wig. Once you had the opportunity of going en femme for a long period of time, it's going to be very stressful grabbing a few crumbs of time that fall from the table. On these relationships I always envision a dog sitting next to its master at the table waiting for the tasty morsels to fall to the ground, intentionally or unintentionally.
