No matter what "scares" you, remember "we have nothing to fear but fear itself", so quoted Sir Winston Churchill!

What's scarier, fear of transition or fear of living with GD only getting worse?

You are stronger than you give yourself credit for.

Plenty of things scare me and yes, everyone gets scared, so I know what you mean Steph. I'm afraid of GMO's and all the chemicals in our food. I'm afraid that I might not wake up tomorrow and what's worse is sometimes I'm afraid I just might. I'm afraid that the two most important people in my life may not understand the bad news they're going to hear. I'm scared that I'll lose their love, but worse that I might lose their respect. The point is that we're all scared of something and sometimes many things all at the same time. All we can do is go about our day and hope we can face the fear when it rears it's ugly head and stare it down in the end. Try to keep positive thoughts. Good Luck.

It's a cliché, but... I'm scared of transition, but I'm more scared of not doing anything. I know it just get worse and worse until I...

"we have nothing to fear but fear itself", so quoted Sir Winston Churchill!

Not sure when Churchill quoted the words of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, but the whole opening sentence of FDR's inaugural address would seem to be applicable here:
So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is...fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.

Actually Steph you are closing in on an answer to your long standing question of how people "take the leap off the cliff into the mist"

Fear can be very central to it.

Traci_k and Princessheather ask you the simple question.....which is scarier?

and one day it may happen for you that its scarier to not transition and away you will turn towards the cliff and start heading for it..

During my boating accident, when the only thing to breath was salt water, there was no fear.

Only regret for what my parents will have to go through

Parachuting - Okay that's scary, had to kiss my Ar$$ goodbye before leaving the plane - what a rush.

Some of these scary things are also things one needs to do only once.

The scariest things for me was coming out to my wife (has known her for 30 years, married for 27 years, no kids) and to my parents (in their 80s) and it was both VERY tough and VERY rewarding at the same time, and afterwards, I somewhat regret that I didn't do it sooner! However tough something is, if it's something you only have to do once, keep that firmly in mind.
