18 days? Wow. You have to love the look and the visible healing. I don't see signs of it at all. I know the remaining swelling is probably tough to see in a picture, but you have to be happy with the recovery.

i had much less swelling with Dr O than with Spiegel. Dr O uses these funky drain thingies whilst your still in the hospital, I think it makes a huge difference. Also he has you stay two nights in hospital instead of just one. the whole time they are pumping you full of IV fluids, antibiotics, anti-inflamatories and steroids. Not to mention "THE BUTTON" the button was my friend, every 6 min. I could get a dose of Dilauded which is stronger than heroin! and it didn't make me sick like the morphine that Spiegel was giving me. I felt pretty good in the hospital, it wasn't until i got bake to the condo we rented that I really started to feel like HELL! This was an emotionally trying surgery much to my surprise. I had some really down moments where I thought what the **** have I done!!!! but I'm emotionally stabilised now and feeling 100% better.
I had my forehead reduced even further, he eliminated my widows peak, I had an upper lip lift and he redid my nose, chin and jaw. He also revised a scar that had been left from my trach shave in 2012.
he showed me photos of my forehead during the surgery and Spiegel had left the bone over my sinus paper thin and there were even some holes in it. Osterhout corrected this with bone grafts taken from the back of my skull.

You look really great in your photos, looks like you got a really good result. What you say about the thickness of your forehead bone is frightening, and it's a good job you've had it sorted. And I'm glad you are feeling good now.
I keep wondering whether or not I should plan for FFS myself, I would have to take out a huge loan to do it, but seeing photos like yours always push me closer to having it done. Thanks for sharing :)

The difference looks very subtle to me, because I've seen you up close and I thought your face was fantastic, but I do see a couple of slight changes. I've been back to the FFS table twice now myself and I will very likely have more done in the future.
It's a game of inches now and I totally understand why you did it, but be prepared to give the virtual finger to the anti-surgery crowd. ;-)

Your result is truly excellent!
If you walked into a room and in your deepest voice bellowed I"M A MAN>...people would just laugh at the crazy lady
btw... it looks like you need an xbox for that tv and comfy couch!!
You look great! Sorry that it too two passes under the knife to get there.

You do look really good, April. I'm glad you found that dangerous situation with your forehead before it caused you serious problems. I can only imagine!

Thank you all for your compliments. I had a truly gifted surgeon. I will say this, all the well known FFS surgeons have pictures of stunning woman and they all have some that are....um.....less than stunning, Even Osterhout. What really impressed me about him was that he had an end point in mind before he started. He had x-rays taken of my skull so he knew what he was getting himself into and he took measurements and knew how much he wanted to take off my forehead, chin, jaw, and upper lip. Spiegel never wanted to see any x-rays which should have been a huge red flag for me but I went ahead anyway.

thank you all for the compliments. what I wanted from FFS was to be unmistakably seen as female without make up with out brushing my hair, without the right angle or lighting, just get out of bed and boom I'm me!
So, if anyone is thinking about having FFS with Dr. Osterhout you'd better hurry because he's retiring in August... I think its August?

I hope Dr. Osterhout's training his successor. A real-life friend of mine had her FFS with him, and she is undeniably female--and beautiful!

Thanks everyone. fFS is truly a life altering surgery if doe correctly by a compliant surgeon. Unfortunately surgeons are human and therefore not perfect, so there is risk involved in all surgery
