So, I've been cross dressing for almost ten years. But being in closet took away the chance of me accepting myself and consequently exploring more. Ever since I came out to my partner I feel much freer to explore and express myself.

For example, today on my way to work I was reading the section about makeup tips on the daily paper and did not care less what other commuters on the train think about a guy reading the women's section of the paper. I did get some looks from other guys but it did not bother me at all. I guess, I have recently accepted who I am more than before.

Thoughts?

Unless those other guys are signing your pay check, tell them to "buzz off". ;):)

We cannot expect to be accepted by other in less we accept our self, it a big step, but one, one has to, be true to one self

Katie - I'm amazed that any other commuters would even notice what you or I would be reading... maybe that's the difference between wherever you are and London... I swear people probably wouldn't bat an eyelid if I did commute dressed, as long as it was in keeping with normal attire...

I'm happy for your acceptance, Katie - tread carefully with it but I applaud you and wish that I could have taken the opportunity when I was younger... Maybe you're never too late... :)

Read what you like, where you like and when you like!! And each time one of us does that, there'll be more folk out there doing it with you.. :cheer:

When one gets to the point in life where he really doesn't care what other people think, then life gets good ... real good.

I'd like to say that I'm there, but not quite. There are some people that I love dearly; people who would be hurt by a general disclosure. I *DO* care about what they think.

The rest of the world? Not so much.

I hear the recent issue of In Style is pretty good. I'm going to pick up a copy when I go shopping.

Best wishes

I read womens magazines and articles constantly in drab mode.

Vogue is my bible, great pictures and ideas in there.
Yes the doubters look but I did photograph women all the time once. :)

Katie someone once posted here that life begins when you no longer care what others think. Now I can't say that I live that everyday. However going shopping is no big deal anymore because I no longer care what others think. Enjoy the freedom. :)

I often times think about the past when I would see a 'macho' type reading something or buying something or even doing something that pertained to a woman. I would always be super jealous because I would wish that I too could do some of those things as publicly as those fellows were.

Times change and so did I. Of course this is all so much more accepted now and I feel comfortable doing the same things publicly that I used to.

One tip...nobody really noticed what you were reading. And should the day come that you go out, they will likely ignore you then too. It's your mind that made you think they notice or cared.

It only gets better and better, who knows maybe buying some female items in male mode out in public?

Bye-Bye Lisa

Well, maybe that's only my mind playing. Even if that was the case, the point I'm making is that I feel I don't need to be worry about them anymore! I am who I am.

Lisa I never been out fully dressed so when I'm out shopping I'm always in male mode. Time to time I find it difficult (specially in the lingerie section) but I can manage.

It can take a while, but eventually you'll no longer even notice that anyone is looking at you or scrutinizing what you're doing. You'll be in the moment, living your life to the fullest, leading the way.
