Hello,

I'm fairly new to this forum. I would like to introduce myself in a shortest possible way and hear your thoughts!

I got to know I had some odd feelings since I was a child and I didn't know what they are or what caused them. This was until I discovered I'm a CD at the age of 25 (9 years ago). For the past few months I have developed a massive anxiety. this is because in the gender identity spectrum, I stand "right in the middle"! This is a very difficult situation for me. I think about wanting to start transitioning "ALL DAY LONG", on the other hand can't imagine loosing my family, my girlfriend (who I'm hoping to get married to and have kids with) and a few other stuff that comes with being a male.

So, I'm going to see a GID specialist soon but sometimes I ask my self "WHY?" and more importantly it seems moving to any direction is a loss for me.

Where ever you "stand in the gender identity spectrum" you must always be comfortable and confident in who you are and how you are presenting. Talking with a specialist will help you define who you are at this moment and a direction to explore. Adding the proper attire to who you are will enforce your gender presence. It can be a wonderful time of discovery, so go slow and enjoy.

Hi Katie, :welcom: to the Transsexual Forum.

Despite what some people say, we will not push you to transition. Especially since, from what you say, you are more likely Gender Non Conforming rather than Transsexual.

Have you spoken to your GP about your anxieties? He/She might be willing to refer you to the Charing Cross Gender Identity Clinic so you can get some professional help understanding who you are, but if that happens, be prepared for a long wait.

Hi Katie! Seeing a specialist is absolutely a good thing. Take as much time as you can muster. It took a long time to get here, so you don't have to come to terms with who you are in a day. Just starting can help the anxiety. It is quite possible you are feeling that solely because you have an unresolved issue, so don't take it as anything more than that and let the therapy take you from there. Good luck!

Hi, Thanks for your messages.

I'm in middle of moving so I'll arrange to see my GP as soon as I moved to my new place.

Chari, my problem is that I'm not happy where I am and who I am. I'm swaying around the middle but don't know what direction I need to go. Perhaps therapy help
