Well, my plan, has worked---kind of. Seems like it's on a good path------To re-cap, I've been dressing in a subtle, but effective style, with a dab of make-up most days. My hair is shoulder lenght now, and I wear it kind of in a femme style. The girls have taken notice, and I decided to tell them all about being transgendered. Had a great response. I had reservations about going to HR, but, on Friday, they came to me! I was hoping for this conversation. Actually, my supervisor came, after meeting with HR. Word filtered to them---they are in another suburb--- after I confided to one of the presidents,that is located at our branch. I guess he went and had a talk with them. I'm glad he did. So, bottom line, their only concern is any harassment I may encounter. This will not be a problem. He told me as long as I keep doing my job, it's not an issue, just "dress appropriately" for my work,lol! I do maintenance, among other things. Whew! Big relief---now that I know it's on the table. I'm not sure who, or how many others,outside my branch know----but, I'll try to figure out what to do next, after this dust settles. It was a good day! Any suggestions would be appreciated!
