This was actually a recording mistake

When singing the vocals for the song, specifically the last verse when sung for the second time, Paul McCartney made a slip and said "Desmond stays at home and does his pretty face", rather than Molly, and had Molly letting "the children lend a hand". Reportedly, this blunder was kept in because the other Beatles liked it

I agree with "Take a walk on the wild side".... I might be young but I like the classics too. For you younger girls with sturdier ears I also like anything by The Agonist. The lead singer is Gorgeous and she sings like a saint, a real opera singers voice but if you didn't know it she screams just as good as any man. Her two opposite voices really remind/relate to what it is to be both girl and boy to me....Check out one of their songs if you haven't heard her voices
