View Full Version : My Mission was Aborted

Today I had the opportunity to venture out and be alone all day. I planned on dressing fem and giving myself a tour around a large shopping center. Everything worked as planned with the exception of the 25 mph winds that kicked up. My long bra length wig was windblown and you all know how difficult it is getting tangles out of a synthetic can be. Anyway, I decided to abort my plans and instead ventured into a CD friendly adult store. I received my share of unwanted looks but persisted in walking around the place just to prove to myself I could do it. Scary, you bet. I only wish I could be more passable then I would have more self-confidence. Does anyone else seem to be more critical of themselves or is it just me?

Most of us are our own worst critics Janet, but it is up to the individual to gain confidence and be comfortable in who they are, no matter how they are presenting. In the beginning most of us were fearful of being harassed, ridiculed, even beaten because we were "different". IMO, surviving all that only makes us stronger and more aware of everything in life. Enjoy.

I'm wondering why you got "unwanted looks" in a CD friendly adult store.:battingeyelashes:

I'm guessing whilst the store might be friendly, the same can't always be said of its customers?

i think every gal here is critical of themselves in one way or another. I think we are all guilty of it.

Definitely my worst critic... SIDENOTE! I've got an awesome tip in dealing with tangled synthetic wigs!! Furniture polish. The spray stuff. Really. After you wash it with dish soap, spritz it down, comb it through. Makes it all silky and manageable. This tip in from a diva acquaintance of mine - AMAZING.

Wind is a pain in the neck for wigs agreed. I always carry at least one hair band in my handbag in case of wind to pull the hair back and a couple of bobby pins to pin the wig down.

The other option is get a second shorter wig.

Hi Janet, It just sounds like a little stage fright in the store.

I feel less conspicuous walking around a department store than a specialist sex shop.
