I'm not sure if this is the right venue, if not I apoligize in advance. Well, I just spent the last 4 days in Harrisburg Pa, at the 6th Keystone Transgender Conference. I had a wonderful time seeing old friends and meeting new ones. The theme this year was living authenticly. The conference was filled with informative workshops and wonderfully inspiring and moving guest speakers. I had the oppurtinty to meet Kristin Beck! (former US Navy Seal),what an inspiring and amazing woman.
One of the best things about the conference is that you meet so many trangender women, I think the farthest traveled girl was from South Africa. There were also a growning number of Trangender youth attending. They seem to grow in numbers and they are not afraid to be who they are. It gives me hope that things will change for the better.
I found myself crying on the way home from the conference this year. It was very emotional one for me this year and I'm not sure why. ( i'm not on hormones yet, lol). I always seemed to be on the egde of tears when I spoke in the breakout workshops or listened to the guest speakers.
Well, I hope I figure out why all the emotions this year. Just though I would share.
