So, I'm going to be travelling on Sunday, and need to book a room for one night. I'm planning to travel en femme. What do the girls here do? I was thinking about mentioning it under "special requests", but would welcome any thoughts from others as to how they approach this.

What is the big deal? Online or on the phone? They only care about the money..Use Joanne ----[your real last name] and give them a card number and away you go...Nothing special needed.

My recommendation is book the room under your credit card and ID name. You could put in your nickname or preferred name in quotation marks. If you have enough pride and confidence to travel en femme, then don't make a big deal out of it at the hotel. If you do, they just might do the same. Just check in, look them in the eye and give them the name that the reservation was made under. Hand them your credit card and have a great time. I have not and do not recommend highlighting how you present yourself to anyone. Act like it is the most normal thing and they will most likely treat you with all the respect that they would show you in male mode. And again, good luck and have a lot of fun.

I tell them it's for Beverley Sims and give my wife's credit card number, on the net or on the phone, it could be a business ie...

A female manager rings up and books a room for her chief engineer Bill Smith.
Her name Mary Ann Rose.... and that is the name on the credit card.

No scenarios are really needed.

You are booking a room for someone and it is coming out of your credit card...

It all depends on your comfort level. I usually check in guy mode then change and go. Are you checking in en femme?

If it was me checking in en femme, I would just use my male ID and credit cards which is all I really could do as I don't have any other ID other than my male self.

My own last hotel thing last month was done thru a travel site...Priceline or Travelocity...I ferget which. That charged the credit card right away for the room.
It was under the male name and card... I arrived en femme tho but still just handed regular male d.l. and signed in that way. Wasn't any big deal... The hotel still took the credit card info if something else needed to be charged after (I guess if any damages, room service bills, etc). Will be doing the same thing this Fri too. The clerks were really nonplussed about it all....they've probably seen weirder :)

Thanks to all who have responded. Just wondered how others have approached this. I've already checked in in drab and checked out en femme, and had no issues!

They only care about the money.

This isn't totally true. They care about liability, too. And repeat customers, and their customer facing reputation. Certainly at the corporate level. So if you are mistreated anywhere, let the home office know about it.

Traveling femme is wonderful, and being away from home gives you the chance to own it all the way. Just walk right into the hotel femme and present your male ID and credit card, there won't be a problem. And it's fun. Calling ahead or making special service requests are entirely unnecessary and sends the wrong signal, imo. I've checked into chain hotels, mom-and-pop motels, resort cabins and a gay hotel without any hitches.

just do it as you would, We had a banquet for our softball league which ran the same week as my birthday a couple years ago at the Motor City casino/hotel, I booked ahead and came dressed to the hotel for check in and it was no problem they were very gracious and seemed to even be extra polite in welcoming me, the porter helped with all my luggage and stuff I brought and was treated like a princess! so enjoy

What I was trying to get across is that as long as the financial transaction goes through, little else matters..M or F appearing, etc.

this is a great question and also love the replies. sometimes a hotel room even with one's own feminine self is the only place we can truly be that self.

the fact that you are traveling en femme, kudos to you i hope it its a pleasant trip every step of the way.

personally i have never booked a room to dress in advance; a couple of times i did it at a "lovebird"/sex hotel that books hourly and i just walked in (in drab) the desk person almost didn't believe that i was actually alone and not meeting anybody (oh but i was meeting myself albeit the woman within...) the money talked and that was it. maybe there are places like that i would guess in any major city?

I book hotel rooms under my male name. But as I have mentioned more than once it is androgynous and that makes it easier when I check in whether in male or female mode.

I walk up to the counter and ask for a room and then hand them MY credit card (yes, I have one in MY name).
Then I go and settle in...it's no biggie

I'm really looking forward to it! It'll be, to all intents and purposes, a full day as Joanne for the first time ever. As to the hotel rooms "by the hour", I believe some places have outlawed that (I'm fairly sure Los Angeles has).

Hi Joanne,

I travel for business some times and when I do I have to use my corporate credit card (boy name) and have to show government ID to get the government rate. I book in my "boy" name but travel a la "girl mode". I normally walk up to the counter, indicate I have a reservation under "insert boy name". By that time the desk clerk knows I am a guy in girls clothing. When they ask for ID I say "the picture is not going to match the presentation" and they normally smile and say "no problem". I only had one difficult time in that the girl requested extra ID as she did not think the person in my government ID was me . . . I guess that is a good thing . . . kind of .

My first real time out , Motel 6 in Amarillo did not activate my room
Key. When I returned to the room I was locked out
after that trip to the Loby Enfemme registering is a breeze

Jean. AnnGetting locked out of a motel room in Amarillo was also how I learned that the world wouldn't come to an end if I went to the front desk dressed as Sherri. But typical newbie, I called from my cellphone to give them a heads up, so by the time I walked in the whole staff had congregated to see the nervous tranny. :-P

Almost encountered this issue last month.. Booked at a Red Roof on my way to PGH, and was heading to the cemetery to visit...
Planned on being dressed the whole trip, but wife decided to go along, so don't know what would have happened..
After seeing the girl attendant, I'm guessing it would have been easy..

Well I just show up as a male, along with a 30-inch suitcase that would clearly be too large for one person for one night. My main concern is that my room has a good mirror and good lighting so I can share the results here!! :D
