Not quite what I expected

I moved to a new town in February, and I went to my first local PFLAG meeting.

They told me that the turnout this month was less than half of who normally showed up.. which was fine. We had great conversations.

The thing I didn't expect was the mix of people.

A couple of lesbians
A gay man
A mom of a FtM teen
A drag queen
Two fully transitioned MtF women
A new MtF woman who is on her 3rd week of hormones
Me

Part of what we ended up discussing was how many of the youths they see are of the Trans/CD stripe. How with the better acceptance of G&L's was shifting the landscape and the need.

Kind of timely given some of the conversations about our acceptance.

Just to point it out, that is a 2:1 Trans/CD attendance vs GL attendance.

I thought that was significant.

Perhaps next month there will be more... or at least a different demographic. But I like smaller groups personally.
