View Full Version : Afraid of the Pink Fog, did this ever happen to you ?

I'm just wondering if this ever happened to anyone else. My wife has been out of the country for 10 days and is returning tomorrow . During this time I haven't dressed once , because I was afraid of the dreaded pink fog. When fully dressed it's sometimes easy to fantasize (for me anyway) what it would be like to be with a couple as Kristy. In fact when dressed I sometimes scan the CL personals and wonder what it would be like with a GG and SO. Of course not having the opportunity it soon passes. So knowing I would have the opportunity I battled the urge to dress, shop etc. In short, I feel like I won a battle of common sense, but lost the battle for desire and passion. So many emotions involved being a CD. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Thanks for reading.
Kristy. :(

I understand Kristy. I too have so many mixed feelings at times.

The only thing I'm really afraid of spending money. The pink fog comes in and BAM, I'm straight away on internet shops looking at clothes. It's so easy to get carried away and just buy buy buy. Easily spent close to £100 on a couple of occasions, and only having a weekend job, it really eats into my cash reserves... :/

For me, because my wife is supportive of my dressing then I feel I have what I need in a relationship. I could see how not having someone in the relationship to share with might create temptations of another sort.

For me, nothing negates the pink fog like a full closet. I've really got to get rid of a few things! I don't fear the pink fog. I revel in it. But then, there's no sexual component to my dressing, so the only thing I have to fear is the bill collector. :)

Hi Kristy,

I totally know how you feel and not so different from me. I will still dress any opportunity I get but I do struggle with issues very similar,

Hugs, Shelly

Just like Jaz, my biggest problem with a pink fog is spending money. I could literally spend hundreds of dollars buying corsets, skirts, etc.

I understand. When I dress, I want to keep on dressing. So,when I have to stop I get moody and long to dress up again. I can even get to the point where I risk getting caught because of poor judgement. It really can be a pink fog!

Sometimes the pink fog rolls in so thick I tend to lose touch with reality.Actually,it's kind of nice.Reality pretty much sux,but as Barbara I'm in my own world.Certainly nothing to be afraid of.

Steering yourself away from dangerous situations is prudent. How would your spouse feel if she somehow became aware of your CL searches?

Some fantasies should remain just that, fantasies.

Well I know that sometimes I get somewhat too enthusiastic and have to pull back a bit. So yeah, I had times where I'm congratulating myself for not caving in at every possible moment.
As they say fantasies are fine, it's when they become reality that the problems start.
Take care,
Christen x

Kristy,
I have fantasised occasionally but I feel you made the right decision.
Sites like Craigs List would only bring unwanted trouble if you got carried away.
Stay here and get carried away by some common sense. :)

Never.... If I was left home alone for that period of time I would have jumped into a dress as the plane taxied down the runway! lol... and stayed in one for the duration.... common scenes be damned!.... though I don't have your issues with those kind of desires to contend with...

No fantasies, but the pink fog scares me because I'll spend money, too much money!

Took me a while to understand what the heck this thread was about. Think I've got it now.

To answer I'm not the least bit afraid of the Pink Fog, been living with it for 46 years, that I can recall & married for 31 of those. So on the odd occasion my wife is away, for a few days, I'm dressed before she's at the end of the road and loving it.

Damn! Been there as well... I've been suppressing that urge right now since I haven't even had time to dress up either so buying stuff is just kinda pointless for me at the moment.

I am a little scared of the pink fog too though, or maybe not scared but uneasy about what I want to do when dressed but at the same time what I don't really want to do... Bi fantasies conflict me somehow it seems lol.

Nope. Regardless of where my personal fantasies may range, in real life I know and respect my boundaries and marriage, regardless of how I dress.

I am newly navigating through the pink fog and how to handle it within the context of my relationship with my girlfriend.
Its only been two weeks since I came out to her but what I can tell you is that talking through my thoughts and feelings with as well as dressing up(of course) have helped me managed my fantasies greatly and understand that there is a great reality that can make me happy as well.
What I learned in the closet about all this for most of my life is that when these desires are not recognized and met the mind will run wild.
All i would say is that if there no consequences in your relationship like when your wife is out town it seems like a bad idea to deprive yourself.

I love the name "Pink Fog" for this notion! Because it can be surprising what seems rational at the time when the Fog surrounds us. Sounds like you handled it well!

I'm not afraid of the pink fog. I'm more afraid of transitioning back out of it.

You passed on a great opportunity to dress because you were afraid you might do something that you wouldn't do if not dressed? That's a shame. You need to be in control of your mind and your body. If you wouldn't scan the personals or shop dressed as a male, how would this change just by dressing as a woman. It's still you. It's still your mind.

The only thing I would be afraid of (assuming that your wife doesn't know about your dressing) is leaving something out for her to find. Wig hairs, lipstick on a cup, etc.

I have never not dressed out of fear of the fog, but i do sometimes fear that I may become caught up in it, so I try not to get too carried away and keep my feet on the ground about all of this.

Hello ladies. Im new here so please bare with me. I am in the middle of a pink fog (new term for me), brought on by my now off again relationship with my gf. When we break up, i shop and buy all kinds of dresses, lingerie & shoes for a few weeks... It lasts until i get real busy with my other hobbies or work. I enjoy it, but my bank account does suffer! :)

I am not afraid of this so called pink fog. I generally make plans, and follow through with them and don't allow myself to get caught up in spur of the moment decision making.

I'm inclined toward polyamory but just with women or possibly crossdressers too. Since I'm single, there's no potential "disloyalty" to anyone. I guess I've never experienced the pink fog. I used to have a food fog long ago.
