I just wonder how many, if any, would and have considered vaginoplasty whilst still in male mode. I consider this to be the only way i can achieve the desire to be what i should have been at birth. I truly hope that this does not affend you. Luv to you all.

I gave serious thought to it, but decided against it, in the end. In my circumstances it would not be the best move. At my age, the risks of such a major operation would be greatly increased; the cost is more than I could afford; and last, but not least, I have two grown-up children and three wonderful grandchildren who would all be hurt and confused if I took that option. If your situation is right, and you feel strongly enough that you want it, then start to find out more, get medical advice and counselling. But please BE ABSOLUTELY SURE IT IS RIGHT FOR YOU; there have been cases where people have discovered that it is not what they expected and they have regretted doing it, to the extent that it has ruined their lives, not fulfilled them.

Personally this wasn't what I wanted. I always knew how I should have been from birth, and part of that is being perceived by everyone as a woman. So staying as a man with a vagina wouldn't give me peace.
I did contemplate it though, tbh, but that was before I was able to tell anyone, due to the terrible fear I felt of letting anyone know about me. Is that why you feel it's the only way for you? If so, I do understand, but I worry that it might not satisfy you ultimately. I'm also not sure if a gender psychiatrist in this country would 'allow' you to have SRS while as a male.

Grace and MariaD, Thankyou very much for your valid thoughts on the matter.As you say, i can't imagine any proffessional "surgeon" undertaking such surgery, and perhaps it was just wishfull thinking on my behalf. I'll just have to carry on as i have for the past 54 years!!!
