View Full Version : What a coincidence! Could it be worse?
It figures. I am a very discrete dresser who has just recently been begun to puchase items through the mail. I know that many of you do not condone that but lets put that aside for the moment.
I was waiting for a package all week. They mentioned it should arrive friday. Perfect! I am living in an apartment with my long time girlfriend so I sneak out early just to make sure.
Well a knock comes to my door but is it the delivery person? No, it is my alpha male next door neighbor with my open package! It just so happens that he has the same first name as me and apparently can't read very well because he grabs it from downstairs and opens is up to discover some heels bras, and hose. Talk about an awkward exchange. Him with a closed up package knocking on my door apoligizing for opening it up with me probably looking like a deer in headlights.
Now I am freaking out a little because while there is a small chance he realized when he first opened it up I doubt it. I hope I can count on his discretion but who knows? How in the heck could he not have read the damn box! I feel a little violated but oh well. Now I am just hoping it goes away. I mean if I were him I wouldn't want to bring it up again.
Just had to vent a little. Thanks for listening. This is a good group.

As Deborah says, since you live with a girlfriend it is a gift for her. A man will buy presents for his G/F or Wife after all. Anyway, what business is it of his? I would not volunteer any explanation and I don't suppose he will ask you, will he?
I'm lucky. In my flats, (apartments) my neighbours do not stick their noses into each others affairs. If one took in a parcel for me they would simply hand it over and not open it. In any event as we have a common locked entrance door (with entryphone) and our flats have their own front doors off of the stairway they would leave the parcel outside my door where it would be safe until I came home as I have often done with deliveries for them.

Interesting situation. Imagine how embarrassed HE felt when he did a double take at the address?

Right first he was embarassed, then he had to figure out what to tell his girlfriend, who just happened to be standing over him. Now she is drilling him, Why are you getting heels, pantyhose and a bra in the mail again. I told you I wanted you to stop buying that stuff. So you just got him off the hook. He looks at the package and sees your name, Now he can tell her that the items are for your girlfriend.
But in the back of his mind he is all deepressed because he can't keep them. :bs:

Hi Cora
The guy probably tried on your things, and when they didn't fit he decided to give them back to you, so I wouldn't worry!

If you lived alone, and didn't have a female visiting you on a regular basis, let alone living there, then you have something to worry about, but since you have a live in girlfriend, you have nothing to worry about.
If you plan on purchasing items thru catalogs, or mail order, can I suggest you rent a P.O. box?, This way you don't have to worry about your gf, or neighbor opening your packages.

Whether it is the scenario described in this thread or something else, most have had embarassing situations due simply to timing. Timing is everything. It's not a matter of whether something unavoidable and compromising is going to happen to all of us, it's just a matter of when. It's how we react that is important. I would think that the less explanation the better in most cases. Just move on. A new "issue" is popping up in everyone's lives constantly and most are too busy with their own issues to worry about ours. :o

Hi Cora
Everyone is right about buying for your girlfriend.
I have a question does she know you dress
If not then what will happen if he bumps into her and asks how she liked her presents.
They may never meet but who knows ?????
lol lol lol i just thought of someting could it be tat he was also expecting a package from the vary same place as yous came from?????
Now that would be hilarious. He must have been pretty embarassed by the whole thing. Imagine he opens the package to find 4.75 inch suade heels and he ordered black pu. Now he is mad!
