View Full Version : Sherry was busted by FaceBook today! Be careful out there GF's!

I tried to open her page this AM. Only to find a message from FB along with several hundred of Sherry's pics I had posted there. Before I could access my page they insisted I delete all photos that contained "nudity or anything improper"! Then, promise NOT to post any new ones.

Apparently, a Friend reported me! So, to avoid a recurrence of this I just deleted 1000 Friends that I don't remember or communicate with often. Altho, many r innocent Sherry fans!:battingeyelashes:
And, deleting so many photos destroyed the continuity of my picto stories which took me months to finish!

My point is this: All it takes is for one Hater to report u and FB jumps on u and does nothing to the reportee! If I knew who complained I could have banned them and that would have solved everything!

Don't think just by keeping your "risky or kinky" photos available only to Friends will protect u if someone snitches to FB. It WON'T!:Angry3:

That's a shame. I'm a huge Sherry fan, although I never tried to friend you on Facebook.

All it takes is for ONE person to report a pic, and FB automatically responds negatively. The burden of proof is on the accused because FB uses an algorithm to address these issues without human interaction. It is only after the accused appeals a decsion that a real person looks at the "offensive" material. I've seen friends have pics of their kids reported solely because the reportr hates kids. It is ridiculous.

Oh, and can I FR you on FB?

And so many of my friends wonder why I am not on Facebook! It is my generation that is so fascinated with putting their life out their on the net for all to know when and where they eat, shop, and go on vacation. Granted we do that to some extent here in the Forum but there is a bit of anonymity to it here. Sorry I will stay off Facebook and the other "social network" sites. If I want to communicate with people I will do it the old fashioned way, I will talk to them!

Sherry,
I feel for you and your labour of love, all that work down the drain for one complaint.

I would have appealed and stirred the crap up a little,I am not a social media fan.

This site to me is quite different, until I find out otherwise.

I've gotten a few pics taken down from my profile a few times before too. All from events I've been to that I didn't think were too much to fuss over that I was willing to share with anyone who could see it. The more risque stuff I've kept to myself, or share on FL. I barely look at FB anymore. Sorry you lost all that time posting and organizing, whatta pain :(

I can understand why you are upset after all the work but then again if you cant comply with FB policies dont use them. They are just trying to keep it clean and family friendly.
If they found out Sherry wasnt real I am a bit surprised they didnt delete your whole profile.

I disagree with the old, Lynn, but totally agree with the rest... :cheer:

Sherry - I'm sorry for what's happened - must be very frustrating for all that creativity you've put in... must feel like a personal slight for you, and from someone you thought of as at least a supporter...

Someone remind me of how many billionaires were created from that facile and superficial piece of e-junk....?

Hmmmm. Let's see. You did not disagree about the content of the photos. And you "deleted" or "unfriended" about 1000 people who you did not know. Sounds like a porn site. I think you need to review what "friend" means. It's not some clown you have never met who gets off looking at your pictures, regardless of content.

I haven't seen them, but I suspect they might have been really "nude" but contained images of breast prosthetics etc. that they found "improper".

Sorry it happened, Sherry.
Just another reason I don't use, endorse or have anything to do with "social sites", exempting this one, which I view as primarily informational. Too much info is out there on everyone already, from our politics to our buying preferences; obtaining, buying and selling that data is probably the largest business in this country, maybe the world. I know that there is far too much data out there already, but I refuse to add to it voluntarily.

1000 friends and several hundred pictures? Busy girl aren't you :D Never mind how much time it's going to take to reinstate those picto stories, how long did it take to delete 1000 friends? Anyway, this is Facebook 101, you have limited control over your 'own' content. Time to build your own Sherrybook somewhere else.

It's simple for me, I don't have any friends :heehee:.

It does feel that these sites operate as a dictatorship. They can use your data as they feel fit but subject the minions to the 'do as I say' mentality. Must be my dad that set that rule.

A devastating feeling when so much work is just thrown away like that.

facebook is changing all the time. I now see more posts from friends of friends that I haven't seen before, which I don't want to see. That, along with them trying to keep it PG rated might be where the problem occured. There are better venues for CD photos to share with others.

it doesn't always take a complaint to get busted by Facebook. a lot of times the Facebook server scans images and will automatically disable your account if it feels the picture is considered porn.

Um.....in defense of Facebook. It's FREE. As such, in my opinion, they should be able to do what ever they want and if you want to use their FREE services and such, you need to accept their rules.

If you really want to put your stuff there out on the net, then contact GoDaddy, get a URL and put your own website together. Then, use FB to promote it. Then, guess how much control they would have over ANY of your content. None.

As for how I see Facebook. I loved it when I used it in the past. It helped me contact some of the most wonderful friends I had grown up with and helped me rekindle the best of friendships. It is an awesome site. The main issue is, people see it as more. They act or feel they own control. Well, FB wants you to feel that so you don't go away. Use it as a way to make new friends, and as a way to find old friends. Anything more than that is.....well, being sociable. Heck, if it was not for FB, I would not have rekindled a wonderful past friendship that turned into the amazing relationship I have with my GF.

It's free. Make your friends on FB. Promote your site on FB. Put YOUR content on YOUR own site.

"Clean and family friendly"? U either don't visit there much or live a very sheltered FB life, Talisker! Because there's more hard core porn and graphic sex photos there than u can imagine! Way more than I care to see!

Hmmmm. Let's see. You did not disagree about the content of the photos. And you "deleted" or "unfriended" about 1000 people who you did not know. Sounds like a porn site. I think you need to review what "friend" means. It's not some clown you have never met who gets off looking at your pictures, regardless of content.
Let me see if I understand u correctly, Scarlett: R u saying since I wasn't judgmental enuff by allowing people to Friend me because they liked Sherry's pictures I got what I deserved? I have refused to Friend many folks who had no info on their pages, couldn't/wouldn't answer my questions or looked like trouble. And, I deleted quite a few men who were rude and demanded sex talk/photos.

I try to NOT be like u, who hasn't seen my photos but believes they're porn. Nor any of Friends but knows they r clowns. I try NOT to judge people and I've Friended many that seemed a bit different. Unless they do something that proves they R trouble. I've been rewarded by forming some interesting, informative, and rewarding relationships with men and women all over the world. They may have come for Sherry's photos, but they became real friends!

It's ok to be opinionated. We all r. But, we r also in danger of shutting ourselves up in little boxes with our preconceived notions. And, I worry about missing much of what life has to offer if I do that!

I haven't seen them, but I suspect they might have been really "nude" but contained images of breast prosthetics etc. that they found "improper".
I don't believe they think or care about the difference, Vickie.

Yes. And, I realize the cancer they carry is infectious. They r, we r, our own worst enemies. Whoever reported me? I feel sorry for!

Thank u for that, Tamara. That means a lot to me. Sherry is my fantasy female(s). As such, she has fantasy adventures I find erotic and exciting. If others enjoy them? For whatever their reasons, I find that gratifying. Graphic and hard core pics have never excited me. And, I have no interest in producing photos like that. As u say, compared to other sites on FB? I believe Sherry's page is more like Lil' Abner than Screw or Hustler!

Personally I never took FB that seriously RS, especially with my account in my femme name. I use it strictly for fun and most of my friends on that account are TG folks. There is the occasional unknown clod who asks for friendship but I normally just ignore them. I'm wondering who the prude is that turned you in though. Geez, takes all kinds right?

I do not know if this is a real concern. But, I do not like to get photographed when I am out. I am not out to everyone, so I get concerned about the face recognition software on Facebook tagging me, then automatically posting my name with these pictures. Does anyone know if this is a real concern or not?

That's why I don't put Jaylyn on Facebook, I have also wondered and worried some about even posting on here. I have heard many horror stories like yours. I have basically every sharing cloud thing turned off. I try and keep Jaylyn totally separate other social places.... I did once though take a few pics on my dang I phone and discovered that they showed up on my computer, and I pad photos. This scared me so I went back to just taking pics, saving them from my old camera to my flash drive only and remove it every time I close my computer. I never save Jaylyn pics to my computer.

People say over and over that "privacy" on facebook does not exist. Putting anything private on facebook is like putting the fox in charge of guarding the hen house. Yet people insist on using it, adding 1000's of friends etc and then say "Oh I cannot believe I got caught!".

Facebook also tends to assume that every human on earth "might know" each other.

Another thing with FB - they know quite well some people are hooked on it so they just LOVE to dangle it over your head, much like how a parent threatens their child with their favorite toy. I do not know what the appeal is. People post dumb photos, talk about what they ate for dinner, and sometimes post stupid crap in hopes of drawing attention. Great.

one of the best things i like about this site as a closet CD is that its not plastered with "like on facebook/twitter etc" icons like lots of other sites, where one errant click would out you to your nearest and dearest.

I like facebook and the positives far outweight the negatives, but it has created so many minefields.

I'm sorry to read this. I am on Facebook and I can safely say I won't be advertising my cross dressing on there- I would never be able to live it down at work or with any of my closest friends! I wish to remain a closet CD and enjoy my feminine clothes without any unnecessary comments/jibes from people who don't understand it.

Best wishes

Not trying to add insult to injury, but why did you lose anything?

Are you saying that you had 1000's of photos on FB that you didn't also have on your computer? How does that even happen? Did you delete the local copies after uploading them??

I think the REAL lesson here, above and beyond not trusting FB, is don't rely on the CLOUD. I would NEVER, EVER have files that only existed online. I use online storage all the time, but NEVER exclusively.

No, giuseppina, the photos I had to delete on FB r definitely NOT allowed here. Those include Sherry partially dressed and undressed. Also some contain bondage elements. However, as Tamara posted they would be classified as kinky or soft porn at the worst! Graphic sex isn't my thing.

A couple of years ago, I began creating tongue in cheek, semi romantic, silly, and often kinky photo adventures for Sherry, Tracy. I just had posted a 50 pic photo story on FB. Every photo has the dialogue attached to it. Once a photo is removed so is the dialogue and it can't be replaced. The results r like pages being removed from a book u r reading. The storyline now makes little sense.

No the rules do not have to be enforced equally. Facebook is a private operation and not subject to the U.S. constitution. You your self have stated that some pictures were "risque". They were exhibited to over 1000 so called "friends" who she had no idea of who they were, be they cops or crossdressers. She is lucky not to have the CD equivalent of Chris Hanson at her door. Exposing yourself, nude or crossdressed, to strangers for the purpose of gratification is exhibitionism and goes beyond crossdressing. Why would you be surprised?

Of course, there's some truth to what u say, Scarlett. While I have grilled and checked up on most of the folks that want to Friend me, I haven't done credit or background checks. A VERY large number of them r either CD/TS's or fem fetish dressers and maskers.

As far as me receiving "gratification" from my "Friends" there? It's exactly the same as what I receive from my friends here! (I had over 1200 on FB and have over 171 here. Why so many? Because I think it would rude to refuse Friend requests unless there was a good reason. And, I don't wish to hurt anyone's feelings.) When someone says something nice about a photo, I am normally flattered. And, some folks here AND on FB ask questions and make suggestions. Do u consider those sort of things gratifying?

The reasons I do what do IS because I receive lots of gratification. As a 70 y/o man appearing to be a pretty, shapely 30's something female in my mirror and photos. The SAME gratification I received while dressing alone in a complete vacuum for 10 years!

U may not understand me, Scarlett, many here don't. But, I assure u, there r plenty of fetish dressers in the world that do. My 1000+ FB Friends being among them.

Sherry, I'm sorry to hear about your FB pics being deleted. This royally sucks. Facebook sucks royally for doing this.

I'm sick and tired of Facebook. Mark Zuckerberg started Facebook because he wanted to stalk girls in college. This shows how much respect he has for women, and for people in general. Between Facebook's complete disregard of privacy, even if you tell FB to keep posts or photos to friends only, they always find a way to ignore your privacy settings. Why bother even having privacy settings if they're just going to override them anyways and turn everything you post into a permanent record for the whole world to see even if they don't know you.

Now Facebook is transphobic too. And Facebook sides with racists and sexists and other haters too. I wonder if Mark Zuckerberg belongs to the KKK.

I hardly ever use FB any more. I'm on the verge of deleting my account because I don't even use FB any more. And if you're a TS whos even thinking of going stealth, don't come out on Facebook, and deleting your account will do you some good, because if you come out on FB you have no chance of ever being stealth. Someone will clock you over the internet.

Now I'm convinced more than ever that there are hidden sexist, racist, homophobic, and transphobic agendas by the rich and powerful, and have been ever since Rosa Parks decided to not give up her seat on that bus. The rich and powerful really do want us to go back to the 1950s and want to use technology to oppress us as a backlash to any attempts for equality.

Facebook is transphobic, sexist, and racist, and homophobic too.

Mink,

That's what some people want. They want us to return back to simpler times, and along with it, return to the racism, sexism, homophobia, and transphobia of simpler times too. I think a lot of things that the rich and powerful have done since the 70s are driven by hidden prejudice rather than greed.

Face book was a genius creation, because it appeals to the egos of the common person who wants to feel important, so they spread everything about their lives to everyone they know, and everyone those people know. Of course, everyone wants to be popular, so that's measured by how many friends they have. Few refuse a new friend, so most people have thousands of friends they've never even met. I'm amazed at the discussions of trivial events that goes on at work, all in the pursuit of sharing the tiniest occurances in each others lives.
