...

I guess this could go into the clothing sub forum, or more the "I went shopping and this is what I bought" thread, however as this is more about me and not the shopping, this is really the correct forum for it :D

Anyhow, I go through some accessories like no-body's business, more specifically, belts, so off to Asda, a division of Walmart, I go to have a look for a few things to hold up my trousers. Found some really nice ones, but like most, they were more a fashion item than a utility. Some were that thin that I could have used them as boot laces, let alone a means to keep tomorrows washing from being on display.

I really couldn't find what I really needed ...

... until I wandered into the men's section, well straight away, two decent belts went into the trolley, so the reason for my title, does me wearing men's belts on my trousers make me a crossdresser :tongueout

:OMG: see what I have to put up with! A transexual crossdresser who doesn't know who she is

I had to look up what Asda is on the Internet since here in the States we don't have that chain.

I'm getting to the point when I wear distinctively masculine business casual clothes I look like a woman crossdressing as a man. :)

I find that I cross-shop the male and female belt selection quite often to find what I need. Female belts are often simply a color accent to go around another item of clothing at the waist. Others are a bit more substantial, but aren't quite as pretty. Normal female anatomy seems to reduce the need for functional belts as their waist sizes are considerably less than hip sizes.

Wear, or don't wear, whatever label you like. I doubt that there exists a GG who hasn't worn something from the male side of the aisle.

I have a similar problem with hats. Most women's hats are too small, and a lot men's hats are too big, but I have better luck there. I sometimes feel like giving up on shoes as well.

For me women's hats are out of the question. I have a large head so it is difficult for me to find a man's hat that is big enough. Longer hair seems to make my head look not so large.

At least I don't have much trouble in getting women's shoes. I wear size 10 1/2 or 11 wide women's shoes.

I also have a large head, with a wig on it to boot, so I pretty much stay away from hats. Hoodies are all right, when it's cold, damp and windy, but you certainly can't wear one to a nice restaurant.

I find men's jeans are heavier and the pockets are larger, so I still predominately wear them at work.

Most of the trouble is the use of "bonded" leather. Pretty certain to disintegrate within a month and not worth buying no matter how cheap; kind of like expecting longitudinal strength from particle board. It is very difficult to find real leather these days; you will need to find a leather crafts(wo)man, I'm afraid, to get something decent, but it will last for years.

My girlfriend makes fun of me for wearing boxers to bed...

...you can stop the laughing and get on with more serious bed type business if you start to wear panties.

Thanks everyone, this was originally a tongue in cheek thread, but it appears that due to our diversity, a large number of us still "crossdress" out of necessity. OMG what a turn up for the books :p

Nigella just remember it's okay for a woman to wear men's clothes. It's that "double standard" we read about here all the time, so I think it would extend to women that are TS or have a TS history? So we don't crossdress based on that theory. As for me, belts are no problem since I can use rope with my burlap bag.:D

From what I have observed a man's work belt is made of durable leather. I have had belts that have lasted 30 years until the leather has stretched too much. Men's dress belts don't seem as durable.

I guess I am a little different since my pants stay up even without a belt if the pants material does not stretch since I have lost a lot of my gut. So I could use a decorative belt. I have always had wide hips since puberty and looked like a woman in the hips, butt, and thighs. Now I am getting the breasts to match.
