Came out to my classmates

I came out to my classmates today from elementary and high school. We have a private group on FB and i create a whole new profile and added a profile pic of me made up. Im so happy that the response has been so positive even though we have not seen each other in years. They are excited to see me once i go to my home country to visit.

I'm glad you've gotten a positive response. I came out to way more people than I needed to, I get having the overwhelming urge to do so but it turned out to be unneccesary. IMO its best to practice information conservation, only tell those who need to know, that way you can better control the flow of information. Also, and I don't mean to be a wet blanket, take initial responses with a grain of salt. Most people don't know what to do with this information but feel the need to say something positive. It's only with time and experience that you will come to know who is truly supportive.

Thank you. I do understand what you say and expect that. But nevertheless is made me quite happy since these are classmates whom i haven't seen in years. It was easier for me to tell everyone since we have a private fb group.

Good for you Christina for telling others and getting positive replies, before some bad stories start going around about that "strange student that is now exploring their feminine side"! Always do what is comfortable for YOU! Enjoy.

I simply made a new FB page for Rachel complete with pictures and all my current information. Then I left Randy's up but stated there that I know longer use that profile and if someone wants to find me they can contact me at my new profile and gave them the info on how to get there. That way if someone from my past looks me up they can then look at Rachel's profile, then decide if they still want to contact me.

Rachel, that's what I did. I made a Christina profile too on fb and rejoined our school group from there. I do plan to retire my original account after I have completely come out. I would like to close that chapter in my life and be known as Christina.
