I had a interesting day today. I have stated earlier, that I consider myself a woman, and dress accordingly every day. I usually go to the same places, and see the same people. Today, I needed to to renew my car insurance, and get new plates for the car, as well as make my car payment. Money is right as I haven't worked since March. First, I went to the bank, and withdrew my money for the payments
I only use the bank for direct deposit of my unemployment. The people at the bank know me as Diane. Then I went to my insurance company, to see if there was any way to reduce my payment. When I went in, I was greeted by one of the women that takes payments. I had not met this person before, and she took my ID, and made a appointment with a adjuster. When the lady came to greet me, she seemed surprised to see a woman, as all she had was my male information. I sat down with her, and the first thing I said, was I prefer Diane. She asked which pronoun to use, and I told her. We took care of our business, I stood up to leave, she said thank you for saying "I prefer Diane". It immediately explained what she was wondering.
I went to the DMV to get new plates. I gave my ID, and told the associate what I needed. I then asked how much it would cost to change my expiration date to my birthday, instead of my ex-wife's birthday. She actually reduced my amount paid, but said I would get another renewal on my birthday.
I then went to my credit union to make my car payment. I was late on my payment, and I was assessed a late charge. I asked if I could make my payment, and pay the late fee next month. The teller takes to the manager, and she said I had to pay the full amount, but asked to wait a few minutes. When the manager came back, she said she waived the late fee.
When all was done and paid, I still had $21 left. My car is in bad need of a oil change. I went into a auto parts store, and discovered I could no longer buy oil and filter for $20. I went to a different chain, and checked them out. There, I found out they had a sale, 5 quarts of oil in a jug, and filter for $19.49. Including tax, it was a little less than $21. Now later today, I get to figure out how a woman in a dress changed the oil. I do not even own slacks or jeans.
Thanks for reading, I just talk too much some times. Especially at 3:30 a.m.
