View Full Version : Hip Padding

Since a few have asked about hip padding, I've taken some pics of my technique.

I've taken 2 soft square foam pads purchased at "Linens and Things" usually used for seat cushions, (How appropriate! ) and rounded them out with a pair of scissors.

This is how they look under panty hose:

NORMALLY, I'd wear a hip shaper over the padding to hold things in place and smooth things out. A beige/skin colored panty works best, with some legging. But I've left that out to show how the padding wraps around and is shaped to add where needed.

And this is the finished result, also without the shaper panty:

You can still see the shape of the pads a little, depending on what you wear, this skirt shows every little seam and crease underneath...

Ava, that's stunning. You look fabulous. I have been wondering lately how to actually do it since I threw my hip pads away some time ago ... :(. Going to give it a try!

Love,

I use the Veronica 2, also. A major purchase but it's comfortable, easy, has a conveniently placed zipper at the crotch and looks wonderful.

I used the "seat cushions" too, for a long time and they work really well. GGs hips are generally only two inches smaller than their shoulders and, more often, their hips are bigger. (The pear shape.) Men's hips were not designed to give birth so... are much smaller.

Great photo illustration, Ava!

[B]Thanks Ava, I have been thinking about that lately. I have in my wardrobe a pair that I purchased from Frederick of Hollywood that cinch the waist and pad-up the hips and butt. It works pretty well, but I am designing a pair with a Liquid gel sealed in thin plasic that feels very real instead of foam. When I'm done with it I'll share some PICS. Signed: Luscious Carissa :)

Yes, please post other techniques and photos! We all can learn from them! :) I'd love to find a better technique!

BTW, I believe Countessa's Closet sells clear silicone hip pads, kinda like breast forms. I'm thinking of giving them a try, given that you could glue them on and not have to wear hose or shaper panties, would be cooler in the summer because of that.

LusciousCarissa, PLEASE let us know how that gel stuff works, I'd be curious how to make my own that way, too. I have slightly torn a set of my breast forms near the top of the teardrop shape. I was thinking of trimming it anyway because they are too big. So, I was going to use some liquid model glue to glue the outer layers back together...

Where can we find more info about it?

Thanks!

I love this dress! Where did you get it?

Well, I got it Japan in 2001. This kind of fabric was all the rage back then, so after seeing it around alot, I just had to get one for my wife... Yup, it's my wife's, but I think I wear it more than she does...

The label says "Cosmic Ray" so, it's probably hard to find.

I'd recommend Carabella (http://www.carabella.com/456975.html) for this kind of look...

I've been using this method for years and it always worked very well. Like Erica, I use the Veronica when I go out because my clothes fit a little better. It also raises the waist a couple of inches so you look more like a female. Linda
